Tracer being a lesbian was surprising since I thought Blizzard would just keep her single for reasons but I'm glad that Tracer isn't dreadfully alone like some pics and comics portrayed her.

Looking at the pics of the other heroes I have a lot of mixed emotions. Some happy, some super sad, and some melancholy. I have huge feels for Soldier 76, Ana, and immense sadness for Widowmaker and even Reaper. Huge high five to Torbjorn and a laugh to Reinhardt. LOL at McCree and Sombra. Happy for Pharah for being on a date/visiting her father for all y'all who don't think it's a date.

But Genji and Mercy!!!!!!! Genji and Mercy!!! Gency!!! Emergenji!!! YES! YES!!!! YES!!!!! I don't care about your reasoning and differing opinions about that what the letter says I'll take it!!! Score to Genji/Mercy!!!! Take that all you haters!!!

I really think that thirty is not that damn old. It's perfectly possible to look like Sombra at that age if you take care of yourself. You'd probably be right that it's an idealization mechanic and male heroes are allowed to look slightly rougher, but it's an idealized roughness rather than a genuine one. They all still look attractive, because this is basically superhero shooter. Idealization is somewhat the point.

I think that's a problem of our conception of male and female beauty. With guys, there is an appreciation for both young and old looks. With Women, we only idealize the young. Even if we think an old woman is beautiful, we usually only think if she looks young relative of her age.

So when given the task of idealizing a 30 year old woman, our immediate instinct is to make her look young. I'd be interested in seeing examples of what can be considered aged female beauty.

Imdb has this list of actresses that were born in 1979. Unsurprisingly, many of them look a lot younger than 37.

Again, that doesn't mean Blizzard didn't make a conscious decision about their character designs, but it's not nearly as outrageous or shocking as some people seem to think.

No - Mercy being secretly old is just a poorly supported (and now inaccurate) fan theory. And Mei probably entered cryosleep sometime relatively close to the fall of Overwatch, as the confusion would explain the lack of a rescue.

Michael Chu confirmed Mercy is 37. In another topic he confirmed she ages and that she also wasn't in Overwatch at the time of the photo (When she was roughly 17). What she was doing in the photo is unclear - maybe they were letting her hang out to try to impress the young prodigy or something.

Lol what are people smoking? 30 year olds, particularly ones who are fit, look very young because they ARE young. Do you think people are covered in wrinkles and warts at 30? Jeez. Also Ana doesn't exactly look like the rest and she's apparently much older (assuming similar in age to 76, who seems in his late 40's or early 50's). D.Va is literally a teenager and I think the youngest in the cast. If you compare D.Va and Ana and use that as your scale for the women, then the others seem about right. Likewise if you compare Reinhardt with I would guess Lucio or the young 76 skin then there's a good scale for the men.
