I sincerely doubt it will go lower this sale. I've been eyeing it for a while now. I've yet to see a sale lower than 20%.

Are you kidding me? Flash and Daily were exactly the reason why Steam Sales were so special. It felt almost like Christmas everyday, not knowing what you'd get, what surprises were around the corner.

The price drops and discounts were also greater during the set period of time.

There were also the "pricebugs" or price errors that occured more than often every day when the list of games on the daily changed.


Steam Sales felt like E3, now they're just the regular sales that have been surpassed by other websites like GMG and Nuuvem.

From the moment dailies were gone, I've stopped caring for Steam Sales. Before, I checked every 12 hours every day to see if a game I wanted had a daily, because I new that an offer like that was very difficult to repeat.

Now I just check once my wishlist, buy nothing and stop caring.

Also, with dailies, it raised awareness of games; having 20 or 30 games, and everyone on Twitter or GAF was like "GET XXX NOW!!!", and you went and bought that game.

Getting rid of dailies made sense, there are way too many games on Steam now and you just can't give a sufficient enough of them decent attention. Where Valve has completely failed though is in coming up with any form of user engagement to take their place. There are tons and tons of things they could do, things that made you feel like you had your own dailies (earn a coupon for example), interesting events like they used to have, and whatnot. Instead they seem to have just thrown their hands up and gone "well here's the sale, take it or not." At least they chopped half a week off of it this year and maybe next sale they'll cut it down to just one weekend. Might actually feel a little bit special then again. But yeah, my engagement is just completely gone now, I barely even bothered to check my wishlist six hours after the store launched, and I used to check the store regularly every day, even if I didn't plan to buy anything.

I got hit with that restriction last year, sucked.

It's strange, I've been able to get around the marketplace restrictions with ease until today. Until today, it was turn on Steam Guard, sell your shit, turn it off, and you're done. Now, I can't do anything even with Steam Guard enabled.
