Steam Winter Sale 2016 thread of hoping for better deals elsewhere

Silent Hill Homecoming has rarely ever been on sale before and is 85% off now. Not sure if it has a licensed song in it but if you are extremely worried. Also Rambo: The Game, Falling Skies: The Game, and the remaining externally published Adventure Time games all have some signs they might be pulled. EEP 12, which is some german garbage simulator game that is on deep discount and has been replaced but a subsequent year. Some people think the Transformers games might get pulled. A few people think the TMNT games might get pulled. It's hard to say. It's a tradeoff between expenditure and risk of missing out.

Thanks. Guess i'll be buying Transformers and Silent Hill, the rest i own and yearly train sims i just don't care about.

I went from 90 to 110 in the last two months and all it took was extensively buying keys off shady russian key resellers, buying weird retail garbage on Amazon and eBay, and camping the RemGC discussion forum to get a lead on stuff that is in the process of being removed. If you don't own the Digital Homicide games I think you can get 28 removed games for $2.75 from them if they're still offering them.

28? This one has 18 is there another one? https://itch.io/s/4833/18-games-wsteam-keys-bundle

Is Adventure Time: The Secret Of The Nameless Kingdom good? Link Obviously LttP inspired.

I'm not a rare game collector (should this game get removed), but rather is it a good value?

How's L.A. Noire? I've been craving some detective fiction, and this is one such game I've never touched. What's the atmosphere like; ultra serious, self-aware, surreal? Is it best to go in blind?

What is the easiest way to find a Prey key?

Pray

you play as a cop going up through the ranks from just a beat cop to working on bigger cases from Traffic, Arson, Vice, etc

just think of the old timey detective shows and you're basically playing that

Monster Hunter is so charming and well translated as well that the animu nonsense of God Eater is hard to swallow so far.

Yea, no matter how much I want to play a hunting game on PC or console, I had a feeling God Eater would be too anime for me. I guess I made the right choice. Capcom please.

*googles Monster Hunter*

yeah, not anime at all...

Great facial animation and it's a neat adventure game.
Keep in mind that it has shooting combat and you can drive around the world map in various cars ala GTA.

Just beat Refunct 100% in 27 minutes...

should have waited for a bundle

I did the same during the summer sale. It is well worth it though. I've left it installed because it is an extremely calming game.

it was an enjoyable experience

I apparently owned this, I guess from a bundle, so I booted it up. That was really fun, thanks for the recommendation. For anyone else: Refunct is a $0.98 (sale price) first-person platforming game with a clean visual style, light parkour elements and no damage or death or enemies. It feels good, it looks good, it's fun, and it's relaxing. And yes, you can 100% it in about 20-ish minutes.

but that bottom pic is anime as shit

and yes, anything that resembles a jrpg is anime for me.

I want to get Dark Souls 2 SOTFS but damn it, it was €9,99 during the Autumn sale and now it's €12. I was still on the fence, and while obviously the difference isn't huge, it makes pulling the trigger this time a little harder.

Very good writing and characters, also perfectly nails the noire feel. Decent adventure/detective gameplay mechanics but medicore and unecessary combat. The game is technically open world, but aside from a fiew side cases there's not much too it.

That's terrible then. They just look japanese.

actually I could find you some anime that looks exactly like that in like 2 seconds. Especially that blue outfit.

but I knew what the dude meant when he said God Eater is too "anime", it just triggered me because I hate seeing using the term used as if there arent 457 types of different anime styles, including much more subdued ones that Monster Hunter could totally be from.

didnt even take me 2 seconds, and it isnt even some obscure anime, its Berserk. People mocking God Eater for being anime and then praising Monster Hunter is like people that mock pokemon but play magic the gathering :p

Which Judge Dredd is it that's leaving? Or is it both?

Also, here's a SteamGAF problem if I ever saw one: I'm bummed that I missed the Baldur's Gate bundlestars deal even though I have them on GOG. And I want to get Jade Empire even though I have it on Origin. Speaking of, has that held up? If there are mods that clean it up, I'll double dip.

So this was in my discovery queue

Weird that it's Early Access yet has no price, though apparently a demo is out. We need more good god simulator so I hope this one ends up great.

Aoko best Melty
Only played a proof of concept alpha back in the day and never touched the game since it's in my steam library. Need to check this out again :( :)

Indiegala Store is kinda being scummy with their sales percentages. Dark Souls 2 at "76%" and DS3 at "70%" but they're included in a set with another game that most people don't give a shit about, thus making the end price the same as the Steam Sale ($12 and $30 respectively).

Which Judge Dredd is it that's leaving? Or is it both?

Countdown to Sector 106 (the Gamebook / D&D style novel game) is definitely leaving. We don't know about Dredd vs. Death--the game's publisher technically purchased the Judge Dredd comics publisher, so in theory this is in-house developed but maybe someone externally has rights.

Can anyone recommend a good Youtube tutorial for Cities: Skyline?

I am not good at these games at all and need a better explanation of the systems and how they connect.

The open world is amazing but it's poorly utilised. All the side characters are great though the protagonist is not terrible sympathetic.

Also (major spoiler):
The murder desk is pretty frustrating. The game keeps making you arrest and charge clearly not guilty people to draw out the Black Dahlia story line. Even the worlds worst detective would have made the link but no we have to go through the process over 5/6 cases just to pad the game length.

This is the opposite of what people think of when they say "vote with your wallet".

You bought keys for games removed from the store because they "stole" some assets, their devs wanted to sue their customers, etc. from alleged Russian money launderers (okay maybe just poor people trying to make money in Russia)!

The worst is that I might end up buying this bundle full of games by Digital Homicide. The name of the studio makes me want to throw up.

Apologizing in advance if some of the keys are not working

What game is this?

It's a TV series- Yoshihiko Season 3

A shame they couldn't get around to spoofing Withca 3 tho :P
Speaking of which. I wonder if I could actually get around to playing thru Witcher 1 and 2 sometime this coming year.
I know I don't NEED to play them to enjoy Withca 3 but it's the OCD in me.
On the other hand I should get the books/novels no?

What Witcher books/novels are must reads?

Thanks, good to know about the open world. I'll have to grab this one as well.

Monster Hunter is anime in the same way Revengeance is anime.

On a scale of Freedom Wars to Monster Hunter, how does God Eater rank. Monster Hunter being the best and Freedom Wars being putrid trash.

its still anime tho. I feel like im in bizarro world right now. I even said, there are a million different types of anime, so just using it as "lol anime" makes no sense

So I just refunded Street Fighter V. Even after reading all about it, I've decided to check it out... How the heck did they think it was a good idea to remove arcade mode? And it took me forever to get it running (there is a bug if teamviwer is running, it doesn't display anything).

Japanese=/=anime, people. Is as anime as Final Fantasy.

It has none of the charactersitic aspects of anime.

I've been enjoying it so far for what it is. It's very much a Link to the Past clone with an Adventure Time skin. If that sounds appealing, I can't see how you'd go wrong at the price. If that doesn't sound appealing
what is wrong with you
then it clearly isn't going to offer much else or anything original.

Monster Hunter is anime. Senran Kagura is lol anime. I don't know where God Eater lands. I think it has waifus though.

The lack of arcade mode for this long in the game will remain among the many mysteries of our lifetimes.
