Horizon Zero Dawn | Cinematic Trailer

Started good but got really wonky and kinda naff in the second half.

What's up with the mouth movements? They look really exaggerated and off.

TLOU has some of the best writing in gaming, the rest really never made your case. The fact is most trailers have bad dialog. The witcher's trailer dialog was awful, how did that turn out?

Are you judging story from the games itself ? because it's not what we're talking about, just saying...

They're perhaps a little bright but Aloy's imperfect teeth are quite a nice detail.

I love the realistic color depth, texture and opacity they have.

Even still. Is
45 hours
still not enough? That's plenty.

It totally is! I think Mass Effect games are awesome and by the end of it I feel like I had enough. I mean,
45~50 hours to 100% this kind of games seems just about right
, as long as the campaign duration is about
15~20
hours, which seems to be the case, if that's something to go by.

Edit: Sorry, just covered it. I didn't know people considered an avarage duration of a game spoilery. lol
(I consider basic info that can even determine a purchase)

Seriously guys. Stop with the leaks. It's crazy inconsiderate to be so brazenly open to talking about spoilers in a thread that is not meant for it. Super selfish too.

At least have the decency to use spoiler tags.

Yay multiple black ppl survived the apocalypse!! That's what I like to see. They also seem to be important characters to the stories and leaders In their community. Bonus points to GG.

Don't feel bad - RPGs in general do not 'demo' well. A few quick clips of gameplay, and if you liked the combat demonstrations then you're getting a good idea on how you'll feel about the game proper, are more then enough to sell the game.

I think that when we look at it as an open world action game alone it brings some concerns about it's structure, about the possibility of it end up shallow. But I've come through some informations in this thread, and it seems deep enough to make a good game: possibly great writing, RPG elements to level up skills and customize your character (gear and weapon), side-quests (hopefully well designed), weapon and armor modifications, apparently great enemy and scenario variety.

It will of course depend on their execution. If Guerrilla manages to make these things right it seems there's enough elements to make the game very interesting. We shall only hope they don't play Ubisoft here.

Yeah I'll probably enjoy it. Those elements to make a deep game as you've listed, Kssio, does sound fun. And that's a good point about it possibly appearing shallow given that perspective; maybe that's why I wasn't so enthused from the gameplay clips -- the gameplay itself isn't necessarily at fault, rather concerns of how they use the gameplay was worrying me?

In any case, it wouldn't be right to give the game a miss due to those clips. I look forward to playing it. I'm not an expert in RPGs either so I'll take your word on them not demonstrating well, SneakersSO :)

- Best dreadlocks I've seen in a game

- Aloy's gear changes in different scenes is a really cool touch

- Trailer really isn't that spoilery. Looks like the setup of the game which you'll see in the first hour or so.

- Having human enemies really expands the combat possibilities and I hope we get some cool scenarios from it, especially AI vs AI battles which are always fun to mess around with.

- I hope the story leads into a Dragon Age-style structure where you can choose which tribe to visit and and gain their allegiance (or not) by completing their main story quest. But I think it'll end up bit more linear.

- Looks like we see two other tribes, the city of Meridian and their leader, as well as the "wraiths", maybe a warrior clan led by that black lady.

I'm still kind of worried about the writing, but it certainly continues to look incredible.

I love that Lance Reddick keeps showing up in games lately.

What I really love, with everything that they've showed, is that the game easily conveys a sense of enormous scale.
It's this grand adventure and I can't wait. Expectations in check my arse! I'm starting to get hyped.

Why do people criticize the facial animations? I mean obviously it's not ND level but shouldn't we compare facial animations to other big RPGs like TW3 etc? How does this compares next to them?

They need to step up their facial animation.
Good motion but bad animation.

Hopefully some of those vistas aren't just backgrounds but actual gameplay spaces.

Going on media back out now.

because some people here say its not an RPG Game even though it is offically one

Visible pop in in various spots in the trailer, I guess this is all in-engine stuff then :p

Looks fantastic.

I agree. I think in the open world games scenario, Horizon is actually the one with the best facial animations.
