Love the trailer, happy for voiceover, but not that happy with VO quality. It might be just me, but it has a bit too much of "cheap anime VO" sound for me.

Still better than Skyward Sword with mute characters. Surprised at actual German voiceover as well. But there, the "old lady" voice sounds like a mid twenty woman with normal voice, trying to croak as if she's had a couple of cigarettes too many...

Edit: Oh and the orchestral music somewhere around when Link first shows up is giving very, very heavy LotR vibes.

stopped watching the trailer the moment it started being spoilers heavy... i already know I'm gonna buy this on wii u anyway... don't need the trailer to convince me.

That trailer was absolutely insane...

When it first started I was a little worried it was just going to be another gameplay trailer; then they started showing more plot, characters and story to the point of me saying "STOP; YOU'VE SHOWN ENOUGH, YOU'VE GOT ME - I'M BUYING ONE!"

God damn I need this game.

The callbacks too, I'm really hoping for direct references of other Zelda games. Hell, throw in a sequence from older games but let us play them out in the Breath of the Wild engine - I would be up for fighting OoT Ganon again.

Goodness gracious this game looks amazing. Loving the art style and atmosphere. It'll be hard to not get a Switch just for this, but maybe my friend will let me borrow his Wii U.

I'm not sure who or what the Switch is supposed to be for but Breath of the Wild is definitely for me.

Hope it looks as good on WiiU.

Probably the best trailer I've ever seen, made my shed more than a few tears ;_;
I'm also incredibly impressed by the high quality German dub, Nintendo definitely dug deep into their pockets to get such amazing voice actors as Thomas Schmuckert and Reinhardt Scheunemann.

The trailer really oozed Ghibli. It was like watching Princess Mononoke in game form with different characters.

Really happy I'm in Japan during the Switch launch now, because I can get the Japanese version of the game :D

I saw this on twitter, source?

I really like how they made all of the allies of the royal family wear these blue clothes. I guess they made the zoras red so the blue would stand out? That bird person is wearing blue, too.

Then you got this guy:

whose wearing red, an upsidedown mask of truth, and ganon tusks. Seems like an anti-sheikah.

What's really something to take note of is how vulnerable at times Link looks - especially at the end. Not only in terms emotional trauma but its great to see the battles taking a toll on him.

And yeah, the OST is on some Mario Galaxy tier.

I just caught that glimpse of the Deku Tree talking to Link, and he's talking as if they knew each other once.

Maybe it's the Deku Sprout from Ocarina of Time?

This Link has apparently slept for 100 years. Could he be the Hero of Time?

Sorry if this has been answered a few times before but uh...is that the release date for the wii u version too? I don't plan on getting a switch at launch.

That's the most likely scenario, yes. Or a Link from the time between OoT and ALttP.

Paid online isn't the only modern trope Nintendo are jumping onto now. Day One Patches are next.

Nothing wrong with day one patches IMO. A deadline needs to be set in order to make physical copies. Game development/improvements/fixes don't stop these days once the game has been stamped. So all the changes and such, can be added the day it goes live. Makes more sense to me than constant delays.

Why didn't Link break down tho?

It's a trope. Unemotional male hero comforts overly emotional woman. Stop defending it.

Maybe link at that point in the story still has not gained his memory back and is not that connected to the world emotionally yet.

Upon further examination...I think these scenes with Zelda are flashbacks. Link has the Master Sword and Hyrule Castle looked like it was in okay shape. These scenes might be 100 years in the past. :0

On the flip side there was that sad scene in Skyward Sword where Zelda mostly kept it together and Link looked like he was devastated/crying. I shed a manly girl tear during that one scene...you know the one. Can't stand seeing Link sad. :C

That why I hate jumping to conclusions without context.

They were red Zoras in TP, though it seemed a trait unique to their royal family.

Speaking of Zoras, they've gone full fish head, literally. I wonder if their heads can separate from their bodies and swim away.

The voice acting is terrible. I really really hope they have a Japan dub available but I'm sure they won't. I'll cross my fingers I can change my uk copy to a European language dub.

Rest of the game looks wonderful.

The game world does not entirely consist of the natural flora and fauna, they showed towns, areas of dungeons (presumably, there's like a clock tower thing and some lava area), enemies, etc. That's what people are excited about.

It is not uncommon for there to be large areas of no people in today's world. There are definitely large areas of no one in this game. It would be unsettling to play a game like this where there were people or enemies every square foot.

Damn, I like all the big enemies they showed in the trailer. I hope the combat will be challenging. It's been quite some time since Zelda had challenging enemies.

Thank god this game looks like it will have more than 1 town. I hope there are many human settlements out there. Skyward Sword was unforgivable in that regard, with literally only 1 town in the whole game.

Wasn't that the point of SS though? No one lived below. Why would there be any other town or city besides Skyloft?

Visually, it's beautiful. Audibly, it sounds gorgeous. Game mechanics look tight. World looks enormous. Story is mysterious and compelling. The voice work has a fairy tale quality to it.

I'm in love.
