There's been no official confirmation which composer is. Most likely it's a team of composers also.

lead composer is confirmed to be her tho

Yeah, and I'm about to pass out.

I assume you managed to queue for Zelda before line closed out earlier this morning?

Towards the end in the official launch trailer, is Zelda holding Link (to prevent?) from drawing master sword?

*these few seconds starting from 3:11

doesn't seem she touching link at all for me?

Wish the Wii U version had that dope boxart as well.

Seems to have it for Japan least.

The horse registration seems interesting. It allows for more customization and the ability to upgrade your maned friend. I wonder if you can breed them to make the ultimate horse. let's go full FFVII on this.

So it took a few listens, but the music in this trailer is absolute GOD TIER. Seriously, this is some of the best music in the franchise. I was worried that there wouldn't be an epic "theme" after hearing some of the more minimalist music on the previous trailers, but holy hell is this track is straight fire.

It seems like the more atmospheric music is going to play what is essentially an accompaniment to a nature soundtrack out in the open world, but there are still some epic orchestral crescendos to accompany the story. I'm in love.

Nah, Link died 100 years ago. He was resurrected specifically to defeat Ganon for the last time. After doing that, he returns to being dead. Bittersweet ending, etc. etc.

Hear me out. This is all going to be speculative bullshit fanfic and I'm operating under a few assumptions but here's my thoughts.

So maybe there's some significance to the fact that it's been 100 years since Link 'died'. Like, there's an opportunity to address the Calamity Ganon that only crops up once every hundred years, or the seal on Calamity Ganon only lasts 100 years. And Link and Zelda flat out got beat the last go around. And maybe there's a reason Link's memories of events from that era are incomplete, for storytelling purposes. So, lets say it turns out that Link and Zelda succeed in merely sealing the Calamity Ganon, but at heavy cost - civilization is ravaged, Link dies, etc.

In 100 years, Link is resurrected but without memory, following the guidance of the Shiekah to either reinstate the seal, or remove it, and destroy Calamity Ganon once and for all. You go on an adventure and do shit. Link lives in the wild and becomes familiar with the world and the way of the world. Link helps people survive and come together. Link becomes strong, defeat Calamity Ganon.

And at the end, with a fuller knowledge of his past and the world he left behind, coupled with the strength and survival skill he had gained from his journey, Link is returned to the past, to protect the world, the people, and the knowledge of that era (not to mention the seal), with the confidence that he'll live to help guide his young self toward putting what's left of the world right

Seems only the overworld will have the 'calm' music. The music at the stables is typical Zelda music and sounds really good. So I guess towns and dungeons will have the typical great music we love too.

So what the hell. According to Laura Dale and others, the frame rate is less stable in the docked version. Gah I was hoping the Switch would at least be able to play Zelda with a stable frame rate regardless. And people say specs don't matter.

People are noticing dips but it's weird to hear these impressions considering everything we've seen so far suggests otherwise. Not sure that the claim that Switch version runs worse than Wii U version has been substantiated beyond a shadow of a doubt yet either but it's something to consider. I'm just saying, that sure isn't the impression I'm getting based on the gameplay I've seen today. The commonplace dips seen in past showings of the Wii U version sure aren't there at least

No, the game is smoother than the Wii U version, what people are saying is that

The 900p docked version runs worse than the 720p handheld version. Which actually occurs in other consoles when they increase the pixel count.

That said, I hope Nintendo allows us to play 720p docked at better framerate. I know they wont, but I wish they would

It's a separate demo build right? Wouldn't worry much if the game stumbles more docked than portable because that just doesn't make rational sense.

But it does. There are Xbox one games with better framerate than ps4 games

And on the ps4 pro as you increase resolution you decrease framerate.

Since the dock has no real technology in it, the cost of the increased resolution is the framerate.

Guys at 2:12 is the Master Sword clean? Are we going to have time travel?

Also holy shit is this gonna maybe address the time period between ocarina and wind waker?

I dunno if it came up yet: So in the last split second of the trailer, you can see Zelda trying to stop Link (?) from pulling the Master Sword out of it's pedestal, or at least that's what I make of it - are there theories of what's going on already?

Right now I'm convinced that this is the Hero of Time.

The 100 year thing persuades me. Only one other Link has ever dealt with this kind of thing before.

Perhaps pulling the sword out will trigger some kind of time travel, like in Ocarina of Time?

That guy Zeltik is really putting in some work. I thought his analysis would be quickly thrown together and really pointless, but i was surprised about all the information he was able to squeeze out of the trailer.

Really need to see some DF tests but if we're talking something resembling The Last Guardian launch OG PS4 performance this is a huge problem.

I could be way behind but Eurogamer is saying 1080/60 docked and 720/60 portable here: https://youtu.be/4liEfuFvIqE

Only framerate speculation I've heard before this has been "30fps with dips". This would be a pleasant surprise...

EDIT: they commented on their own video that some reports say it might be 900/30 so they don't know and dammit.

Are there any news on gameplays features ? I heard horse can be killed and have stats but is there anything else ?

From what I've heard it's even 720p with really serious framerate problem

I have to say my favorite part is the short scene where Link is being pulled by a fucking walrus in the desert while fighting that big sand monster. I wonder if we get to tame walruses in addition to horses or maybe we just rent them from the desert town.

I really hope that either the NA version has Japanese audio or that the Japanese version has English subtitles. Probably too much to ask for, but how I experienced the trailer is how I want to experience the game.

Yeah that part looked very epic, looks like there are more cool gameplay mechanics by the looks of it wich is insane. I like how link just chains that thing and slides along on his shield to fight that dessert boss/monster.

This is how I am. The Japanese dub still gives me the fantasy element of another world which is what the gibberish zelda language gave in previous games. As well as the fact the Japanese dub sounds great from the story teller to Zelda having her link moments.

At the minimum I hope we can change in the ingame text. Don't mind importing but can't read Japanese so English text is a must if I do import.

I am in the same boat. I just hope Nintendo is letting us choose which dub we want.
And I don't know if it is a good sign that they did so many dubs or a bad one.

It's no big deal to import now but it is still extra money to spend.
By the way do we know if all dialogue will be voiced or just cutscenes?

Here's my theory. About a year ago, some people were throwing around the idea that this is not a new Link, but instead one that we have had in a previous game before. While the Hero of Time is the most iconic Link, I think it's more likely that this is the Link from A Link to the Past/the Oracle games/Link's Awakening for a few reasons.

1. Physically, this Link resembles him more than the later ones. The floppy sideburns are the biggest indicator of this (although this reasoning isn't the best)

2. It is unknown what happened to this Link following Link's Awakening. At the end of the game
He wakes up the Wind Fish, and finds himself stranded on a piece of his boat in the middle of the sea. We don't know what happened to this Link, it is possible he is lost at sea, but recovered by someone in a coma.
As for the Hero of Time, we know precisely what happens to him in all three timelines.
He dies, he becomes the Hero's Shade, he is sent into a different timeline.
There's more open for that Link, not to mention he features in by far the most games, making him the most fleshed out.

3. Lots of imagery from the LttP timeline. That split mountain from the Zelda 1 artwork is one example, but the biggest one is the image of the Master Sword with the sun shining on it
latest

This implies to me that we will have a game in the OG Zelda/LttP timeline at the very least.

There are some arguments against this, however.

1. The OoT Temple of Time is shown. To be fair, even in the LttP timeline, the temple still existed, although the Master Sword isn't housed in it, and it hasn't been seen. The prior thought was that the temple deteriorated, leaving just the meadow and sword seen in LttP, but it isn't impossible it was moved.

2. Koroks and Rito exist. Yeah, I don't have much of an explanation for this, I guess they still could've evolved anyway. The explanation in Wind Waker was that the Zoras evolved into the Ritos, but they both seem to exist here. These two species actually imply this game is set nearer to Wind Waker, possibly after (if) the Great Sea was drained.

So! What's my theory? The Link from Link's Awakening was recovered by someone, presumably a Shiekah, or whoever is behind the temples and glyphs seen in the game. He was held in stasis while Ganon destroyed Hyrule. Since he wasn't dead, a new hero couldn't be born. 100 years after the disaster, Ganon still occasionally makes some noise and destroys settlements, but things have become relatively stable (think Sin from FFX). Zelda discovers Link's existence, and finds a way to awaken him. He is shocked to find Hyrule in this state, including a Master Sword that hasn't been used in centuries, paired with this great amount of evil causing the sword to look decrepit. Typical Zelda story here, Link tries to help by getting the Master Sword, it only makes things worse, but he regains the skills he needs to defeat Ganon. We learn along the way what happened to Hyrule and Link (I think the game will directly confirm which Link this is) and what Zelda has gone through as leader of this post-apocalyptic state.

yea, just watched that. nice work.

Aye, just got done watching it.
Been subscribed to him for a while, recommend him to all Zelda fans. He goes really in depth and clearly knows what he's talking about.
He needs to be hired by GameXplain haha.

It really is a great trailer. The music really makes it. One of the best incarnations of the Zelda theme. The spotlight on all the characters we'll meet looks like it'll be a blast and they all look like creatures and characters I can't wait to know better.

And it gives me SERIOUS vibes to my favorite anime ever, Princess Mononoke.

I'm beyond excited.

The three parts of the trailer where Link loses hold of Zelda's arm, turns around, and she cries into his arm are from the same scene.

Link is guarding Zelda and trying to rush her to safety, she lets go and collapses to the ground in despair, causing him to turn around to see what's wrong (the trailer using this to make it almost seem like he's being chased by the huge thing flashed after), he kneels to comfort her and she cries into his arm.

What might also be from that same scene, or a continuation of it is Zelda fighting guardians with her magic with Link in the background, and then another of Link stumbling backward in front of her. I think the order is flipped there - Link jumps in the way to protect Zelda from a guardian firing, and gets blasted. He is badly hurt of course, and reels backwards as shown. Then Zelda moves in front of Link to protect him and attack with her magic. The guardian remains from this fight might be visible sitting silent still on the map.

I feel like that might be the point where she decides to start going to those Hylia sites to pray/do whatever to set up the barrier. How long Link limps along grievously wounded is another question. It might be that he is just so badly hurt during that scene that Zelda helps him to the ressurection site (or takes his body if he actually dies), and continues on her own. Along the way she leaves the master sword with the Deku tree.

Sorry if this has been brought up but do we know if there's dual audio? The JP voices were really good. I doubt it with Nintendo.

Can we just talk about how AMAZING all the character designs seem to be.

Dripping with personality and I can't WAIT to run into them.

The redesigned Zoras and Gorons in particular look SO DAMN cool. The Gerudo girl, the fairy queen spotted many Koroks in the trailer too (they appear to be surrounding the master sword in the past).

I'd love to be able to walk around a hyrule which is completely at peace sometime in this game with all races living in peace.

TLoZ series always had a lot of potential for it's lore, characters and stories to be further developed. This looks like the game to finally do it. CAN'T WAIT.

The character designs so far are definitely great and a step up from prior entries. The animation improvement is awesome and I am happily impressed so far. How fluid and natural Zelda's crying scene is vs what animation stiffness has been in the series in the past is very cool to see.
