Wonder Woman Is a Disjointed Disaster (Says DC Insider)

Didn't this exact news come out a few months ago prompting the director to call bullshit? Different sources I know but WB is an easy target.

Yeah well, remember when there were rumors that Sucide Squad was a mess and they were doing reshoots to re-edit the entire thing? And the director came out and called bullshit?

Nothing means anything. DC is an easy target because so far they've sucked at this.

Also, I just can't believe Warner let Snyder completely ruin the modern big screen potential of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in the same film, and I have little doubt they will do the same with Justice League. The fucking Justice League. This should be as big if not bigger than the Avengers, especially given this will be the live action, modern, big screen debut of what is arguably the most stacked team of fictional characters out there, well into the era of comic book movies that Marvel has pioneered with clear blueprints for massive success, and with a pent up build up of nearly sixty years. This should be like the Avengers' film debut in terms of hype, at the very least.

I remember hearing this about Suicide Squad, thinking it was probably overboard and I don't really care too much about movie reviews. I saw the movie, thought it was one of the worst movies I've seen in a while and I was really high when I watched it so it should've been easy to impress me. I remember lots of laughs and outside of my friends the general vibe was a good one in the theater. It goes on to make over 700 million dollars and most people I've talked to said they liked the movie. I feel even if its a pile of shit it will still make tons of money and a sequel would do well of the strength of the first

You guys are too harsh on Snyder and DC. We should be commemorating them for taking the huge risk of trying to one up the Marvel cinematic universe by launching the DC cinematic multiverse, and what better way to establish it than by devoting six films of grimdark, repugnant trash to one of the parallel dimensions before we get to Earth-1 proper.

Snydy be playing the long game. It's almost auteur in it's execution.

Oh I 100% agree with you haha. SS and BvS are prob two of my least favourite films, well ever. But like I was convinced this was a bump of an old thread. Word for word like. Deja vu, I guess.

it sure is brave of them to try and knock off the avengers universe.

look at justice league. they basically are admitting their narrative tone is a disaster and they're going to just rip it off. They have Robert Downey and it shows.

If this is the case, watch it be another one ruined because the execs keen meddling, rather than letting the film-makers make the damn film.

But it failed again, we should change more this time, no...just let them make what was originally planned!

Give me a crisis movie, they can even crossover with the old movies and TV series before rebooting.

Then the pre-"Rebirth" movie turns out great, directed and wrote by Jonathan Nolan and everyone go.

I would love to see a high quality Wonder Woman film but I have a bad feeling about this (and Justice League) It's a shame because I would love to see a high quality female lead superhero movie (before Captain Marvel) and it's so disapointing we haven't gotten a Black Widow spy espionage film from Marvel.

Black Widow is kinda boring though, I'll be honest. Her, Hulk and Thor I could live without movies from, they make great side characters though.

Marvel will bring it.

'someone with insider information'

So, definitely my uncle then.

Let's wait and see how it is before running with these tarded rumours.

Until we get something that breaks the current trend, it's reasonable to assume that every DC superhero movie will be awful.
And yet people will still fork out the dough to see each and every one of them opening weekend so they can share in the experience of how awful they are.

Frankly, I'm not sure fans deserve better than what they're getting.

Or lets not, it's not like DC films have had good/great films make these leaks suspect. Also lets not use the word retarded that takes the piss out of people with mental disabilities.

If I wanted to build some easy cred as a studio insider. I would just follow this formula:

"Hey guys, I've heard that -insert DC film here- is a disjointed disaster."

I would have a 100% chance of being right.

Yeah. Going by the DCEU so far it's a pretty easy prediction to make.

I'm puzzled that anyone anywhere could think Gal Gadot can carry a franchise starter. Beautiful woman, perfectly serviceable side character in F&F, but not a star.

I don't know man, the bar is pretty fucking high -

Does the new one even have a donkey?

I don't know why I find this as funny as I do...

anyway, on the article.. it's discouraging.. and it's discouraging because the past couple DC movies has made stories like this too believable. I really want this one to be good, but right now I'm leaning on having lower expectations with the hopes of a pleasant surprise.

I know it's a not very trustworthy source (probably), but with DC's track record it wouldn't surprise me at all.

That's what I'm saying. There's hearsay it's a mess, there's hearsay that there's no such hearsay, we'll see in a few months. Given Warner's trackrecord with the current run of DC-movies, I wouldn't be surprised if it actually is a mess story-wise. On the other hand, it's Patty Jenkins, and Monster was great, but that was 14 years ago and nothing of note since then.

Slightly off-topic, but what the hell happened there? She directed a highly regarded, Oscar-winning film and then went on to very sporadically direct single TV show episodes and one TV movie until she was hired by WB? How did she not get tons of offers after Monster? What the hell? I guess she was doing Thor 2 before she got fired over 'creative differences', but still...

I don't even need wonder woman to be great or anything. Just decent, or maybe even mediocre. If it's as good as Man of Steel, I'll take it.

Literally every other film can be a dumpster fire. I just want the first wonder woman film to have moments we can look back on and say "at least that was good"

I have absolutely no doubt in my mind I will feel the same from the current track record of these movies. I'm going to be sitting there thinking a child came up with the storyboard running why? why? why? in my head.

I enjoyed the previous movies, I want more of them.
I just want them to be smarter.

Bargaining.

Even if this insider is 100% lying, outside of dc apologist and hardcore fan boys everyone should just assume DC's live action films are gonna be a disaster until they make a film that actually reviews well and has positive wom from fans.

Couldn't find anything either. I can't imagine why she wouldn't get more work.

jesus fucking christ. That's not what I meant at all. Stop with the hyperbole. But you can't honestly say that SOME critics might score this a 7 instead of a 6.8 because they want more of these types of movies? Wonder Woman is a major titular character, unlike Catwoman and Elektra. I'm not saying they'd make it a 9 if this was obviously a 3 or 4. And again, SOME critics. If this movie is average to ok, I could definitely see it happening. It's not like I'm mad or anything if they did that (how would I even know?). I want more female lead superhero movies and I want them to be good.

I think you're 100% right. It makes no sense for a terrible film to be showered with praise but an average one realistically would be bumped a tiny bit by its target audience
