It's looking so far to me like the ultimate Zelda game - The clincher for me will be how many bosses and dungeons there are [and I'm not counting the shrines]. If there's more than Ocarina of Time - best Zelda game ever.

Also, is there any kind of info dump about everything currently known about the game that I can look at?

I would like to see such a thread created, but I'm not sure if it's okay with the mods and I don't have much time at hand, anyway.

Aonuma has talked recently about the desire to work on a new IP and good lord I hope Nintendo gives him the opportunity.
I think he was a bit more specific than that and stated his new ip he was working on has being a thief as a concept. I may be mis remembering though.

The other side of the tapestry is a weather worn map. Central Hyrule, Faron, and Hebra are very clearly written. People have been trying to make out the other regions but it's a very worn map:

My mind is full of fuck, where did Lake Hylia go, it should be somewhere above the Great Plateau (that houses the Temple of Time as we know). The question mark to the right of Faron should be the Lost Woods. To the left of Great Plateau probably Gerudo Valley. But Ninaya is something new?

These are region names not cities or points of interest. In your example the lost woods would be 5-7x larger then the great plateau.

As an example, this map would list Kentucky, but not Louisville, even though it's the only place in Kentucky worth bothering to look at

Do we know if there will be any small-area exploration, like crawling through tunnels, or figuring out how to get out of a small room, things like that? I really liked that aspect of Wind Waker.

The design here seems too big in scale and scope to allow for that small, slow pacing, it seems.

What do you guys think this game will score on Metacritic? My prediction is atleast 95.

Assuming things pan out the way I expect, it's probably getting a 93 at least. There's a potential for getting lost, but the game design seems to subtly prevent that. People might criticize the visual fidelity or they might praise the art style. It'll be praised for how different it is in comparison to other modern open world games yet how it borrows mechanics and concepts from most of them and it refines and implements all it's ideas.

Lake Hylia is directly next to the Great Plateau, south east.

Wow there are more regions then i expected this game is huge...

My speculation about what we might find in the named regions:

Faron: we know Lake Hylia is here, if it follows Skyward Sword's naming convention it might also be the region where the Lost Woods, Great Deku Tree and Master Sword are located. That'd also mean Gerudo Desert's region is called Lanayru.

Neclida: tropical region that includes the lizalfos ruins from last year's game awards footage as well as the coastal town we saw in the most recent trailer. The elephant guardian might dwell here too.

Ninaya: Zora's Domain. Might have seen some of it in the last trailer when Link is on a raft, facing a huge rock formation.

Altum: another coastal area, might be undead themed to contrast with Neclida. l'm basing this on the skull lake from the old map shown a couple of years ago and that giant skeleton seen in the E3 2016 trailer.

Hebra: the snowy mountains, probably home of a Biggoron as the tallest peak has a hole in it that looks like a bite mark. We got a glimpse of a huge creature in a snowy area in the first 2016 trailer too. lt'd be nice if the Yetis from Twilight Princess made an appearance too, l love these goobers.

Great predictions I too believe the elephant will be somewhere in the jungle region. I really hope the yeti's return too, awesome characters.

It's probably that big mass of water in Faron.

My guess for the game's dungeons based on trailers:

3 dungeons that can be tackled in any order, then you get the Master Sword and progress more in the story, the Master Sword might not be at full power or isn't even the best sword.

Then the 4 colossi which roam those specific regions, which can be tackled in any order.

Then Hyrule Castle / Calamity Ganon's Tower, which might be more multi-part and complex.

From the very beginning, you can probably enter any of these dungeons and try to take them on, but you will probably get your ass handed to you.

And of course, the 100 shrines - some hidden, some not - and some mini ice-dungeon like areas which grant you cool goodies.

I wouldn't worry about the scale of the robot dungeons, remember Lord Jabu-Jabu from OoT? He was basically the fish TARDIS. Each of the robots might be the length of 2-3 traditional Zelda dungeons, they can go ham with the internal machinery.

Man, I really hope all the shrines aren't tech-looking, and I hope the alleged 4 dungeons aren't those mechanical creatures.

When Nintendo said they wanted to break the conventions of Zelda, I didn't think it would mean they were going to change the 'look' of the dungeons. Everyone actually likes how the dungeons look and work!

I want my desert-styled dungeon, I like my forest dungeon, I want my underground mysterious dungeon!

Yep, that's what he said. And I really hope he's working on it now. I didn't get the impression from that interview that the game was locked-in for development. I don't want this guy stuck to Zelda for the rest of his career.

I was pretty hyped when I thought about the flying bird being a dungeon, but if all these mechanic monsters are dungeons it becomes old pretty fast. Hope they add some variety.

I feel like this game was in such a good place from the get-go. It feels unique enough even within its own established Zelda world and won't suffer from MGSV:TPP effect - too much gameplay, too little story... since it's Zelda. If anything, reviewers will praise the inclusion of even more story elements (Talking characters!). 92-95 meta for sure.

I'm not an insider nor doing I have a secret backstage pass.

My university friend went to an event here in the UK to play the Switch. He says that he stumbled through one of the menus while playing Breath of the Wild and there was a mission log which seemed further ahead than what the demo was at.

He said the mission was

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR BOTW LINK'S IDENTITY

'Complete the Hero of Time's destiny'

He's not a big Zelda or Nintendo fan either and simply writes some games articles for a newspaper.

That is literally one of the most epic mission names ever. Holy Shit.

I'm not the biggest Zelda fan (late Nintendo adopter, post Wii, enthusiast etc.) and even to me it's pretty evident that BOTW deals with...

...time travel.

So makes sense.

If this game is a sequel to Ocarina of Time...and has time travel...GOAT

Hell yeah.

Is there a thread [I've been searching for one] or any info source that has bullet points of every known feature revealed about this game so far? I love reading stuff like that - if I knew enough about this game, I'd make the thread lol

The GameXplain guys also mentioned they were able to see a quest long from towards the end of the game.

Though they kept their mouths zipped, respectfully.

However that spoiler has me hyped.

I want to know too, especially since that game has so many features

The Hero of Time, eh? Even though his clothing and handedness are incongruous with Ocarina of Time's Link... oh well, they probably have some cutscenes to explain that. I'm so hype.

Wow, people are crazy optmistic predicting 95+ metacritic, huh? I don't think there's much chance of that happening. Did any game this generation even broke the 95 mark? Reviews are much harsher these days.

I predict low 90's.

Yup. Best case scenario is that It'll fit comfortably in the Witcher 3/MGSV tier: 92-93.

They dont have to be the same person..
but they are most likely one and the same

Also I remember, it might be Gamexplain that said they saw a late game quest there?, I read someone saw a lategame quest so maybe it was the same as this.
