Comparison of Obama and Trump inaugurations: Trump turnout way down

Well 2009 was a once in a lifetime monumental moment.

The only thing that will ever come close to Obama attendance will be whomever our first woman president will be. (Or first gay president?)

At this point even George Bush Senior will have had a larger turnout in 89.

Just because Trump won, let's not forget the fact that he was still one of the most-disliked candidates in history. I wouldn't expect a big turnout.

What if it was a republican woman?

Trumps team was talking upto 800,000 people while Trump in usual bullshit mode was talking potential record setting crowds etc.

Many people who voted for Trump don't like him, and simply voted for him because the attacks on Hillary worked, and it's VERY difficult for one party to win three presidential elections in a row because people want to give the other party a shot

Obama and W pic is adorable.

I have not seen a pic of Michelle from today where she doesn't look pissed. She's as far away as possible from the Trumps in that picture too.

We need pictures from 2005, 2001, 1997, 1993 first. It's quite possible the high turnout is because he was literally the first black president.

I was at Obamas. It was the most people Ive ever been around. I couldnt get anywhere close to the podium but they had it up on big screens for the rest of us plebs. I was able to weasel my way up to the start parade route though and got to shake Jimmy Carters hand.

Ill never forget it. Meanwhile this feeling today is the polar opposite. I just dont know what to expect.

Trump was elected President by the electoral college.

The American population replied "Fuck Off".

Glad to hear that attendance was ways down.

He had the same turnout as bush. Which is pretty normal for a republican in DC.

Really this whole thing is petty, like making fun of hillarys rally number petty.

Well, actually, his turnout is slightly lower than Bush's SECOND inauguration. You know, the one after he started a war the public hated him for.

And he still had slightly more numbers than Trump.

I mean, it doesn't matter, you are right. Just saying. This is not "normal" numbers for a first inauguration.

The difference is that Bush wasn't bragging on twitter on how high his numbers were going to be.

Does trump slouch isn't Obama like a couple inches shorter almost seems same height in some of these pics

I mean, the GOP is largely supported by people who are 55+. Not really the types to go out to crowded public events. This whole thing just seems kinda disingenuous in terms of showing how much support Trump does or doesn't have. His approval rating is a lot more damning.
