This is my thought as well. To be more fair, it should have been a set donation per vote (say, $10 or $20), and one vote per person.
That wouldn't generate as much money overall though. So I don't know.

Again, that post contained more than the single line you have a lazer focus on. You claim everyone's just posting "I don't like it", simply because that was the only part of the post you bothered to actually acknowledge.
The post was focused primarily on the whether or not Smash needs Evo, and is filled with reasoning to support that point. It's not filled with in-depth reasoning of why they find it boring, because that wasn't a significant point of the post... Or should they go off on a tangent for every little bit of the post that could be further substantiated (and then again for anything that could be further substantiated in that additional text, ad nauseum)?
Nobody owes you a Smash mini-review to qualify that they find the game boring to spectate, especially considering you immediately dismissed "individual opinion" wholesale regardless. You probably shouldn't also assume their lack of interest is due to a lack of understanding either. I find Street Fighter rather boring to spectate in general, and it's the fighter I'm probably most familiar with and adept at... meanwhile I've thoroughly enjoyed what I've watched of Blazblue in past years, whilst not even knowing what the attack buttons for that is. I could possibly put into coherent words the reason for each if I try... but I'm certainly not obligated to, in order to state that I would rather see Blazblue occupy a slot over a second Street Fighter game. Doubly so if my post was actually regarding what how the Street Fighter community benefits from its prominence in Evo, and someone decides to ignore the core of my post because I dared to say something less than glowing about the game they adore.

My subjective perspective. If you like it, good for you. I don't... Don't find it exciting at all, it takes forever, Smash 4 it's so slow paced and Melee you already know the top 4-6 of every tournament down the road while being a Fox fest outside that.
Just like to play it as a party game and in that matter it one of my favorite franchise.

Anyway, my post wasn't even about that. It was about why people that love competitive smash (don't care if melee or 4) should show more respect to EVO for what has done to this game that Nintendo never intended to be what those players created. Simple as that.

Nintendo didn't really do much of the supporting to begin with for Pokkén Tournament. The Pokémon Company made it part of their Pokémon Championship last year (as is the case for the competitive scene of anything Pokémon-related), & as such Nintendo didn't really take much of an active role in pushing Pokkén beyond providing set-ups. Seeing as the Wii U is dead, I don't think TPC is gonna bring Pokkén back for said Pokémon Championship. It's entirely possible, but I wouldn't get your hopes up (unless there's a Switch port in the works).

we just had a captain falcon almost beating armadas peach @ genesis 4
top 8 had: Peach, Fox, Shiek, Puff, Marth, Pikachu, Falco , a grand total of ONE fox main ,with 7 different characters in top8.
meaning sfv actually had less character representation comparing this to evo top8
If you want to use evo for melees lack of character diversity we had in top8:
peach,fox,marth,shiek,puff,falco,falcon (7)
once again more diverse than sfv which only had 5
I mean I know fox is a meme to people but it also seems like people are fine with just embracing that meme because its easier than actually paying attention to a scene.
If stereotypes are why you dont like it, so be it, but its not true in the slightest.
There are two attitudes you can adopt from here. One is to just continue to spout lies, the other is to accept that maybe you werent too familiar with the goings on, and even if you dont really care, its not good to promote misinformation.

pokken is actually a faster game (duration wise) than most, its more that they completely underestimated the time required, and it started late afaik so it caught most of the flak.
there were also issues with the setup which cause delays
30 minutes for a bracket reset involving very close games doesnt seem that farfetched?
SFV went 20 minutes without exhausting every game possible
They also played from top 16-1 that also contributed.

outside that. Implying anything that it's outside top 4-6. Specially since the "Top of the top at every tournament" are character specialist, so your point it's bias. I'm not even going to waste my time posting the percentage of Fox/Falco at every tournament.
Most top 8 while participating at majors. Armada, Mango, Hungrybox.
Then throw PPMD, Mew2King and Leffen into the formula depending if they assist the event.
Keep in mind some 2 tier players like Plup, Axe or Westballz.
There you have most of your Melee top 8. Misinformation, yes...

we do not know the top 4-6. Mango placing outside of top 16 recently, and upsets are becoming extremely common and likely with everyone getting so good. Axe also placing outside of top 16 in the very same tournament.
Falcon players causing huge upsets like Wizzrobe 3-0 over Hungrybox, and S2J being extremely close to beating the #1 ranked player
You dont have to "waste time" posting anything, but you also dont have to watch fox dittos when/if they happen, if they really annoy you that much.

btw. I've checked eventhubs last genesis 4 result, you balantly avoided that 3 players of that top 8 used Fox/Falco by saying "Just one was a Fox main". Just to add to what I've stated right before.

Leffens the only fox main in top8. Yes upsets are happening on an increasingly frequent basis, but as you said, you dont watch smash but somehow think you have any authority on it.

It's getting tiresome to see this every year when both games clearly have the communities and support to be where they are in the lineup plus the fact that there's little overlap between both groups of players. When games I don't care about are on, I just go do something else with my time until the stuff I want to watch comes back on.
Maybe if certain people didn't feel the need to continually bring up and whine about the two Smash games, then everyone would move on.

Honestly, I think the onus is going to have to be on Smash fans to get thicker skin and not be baited into arguments with salty trolls. Just remember that the reason they're complaining is because a Smash game is in, and their pet game is out--because Smash is waaay more popular than whatever it is they're playing.
Just let them hold that L and move on.
On topic: I'm really hoping Marvel wins. We need to settle who is the all-time champ. (Go Justin.) I would also accept Windjammers or Arms for the lulz.
