Nah. Some of the big maps are damn fun with 16 people killing each other. Even the small one's can be a laugh riot from the crazy crap happening in them.

Yeah, there are lots of clues in the image, but the way he took two things people were wanting to see and put them both together was overkill.
 
played quite a bit of halo 3 MP tonight. first time since the reach beta, and i was worried it would feel dated... it didnt. i missed AA's, but its still such an amazing fun, awesome game.

also, am i the only guy in the world that prefers the carbine to the br? yeah, its no where near as accurate from a distance, but its rate of fire is devastating at mid and even close range. i fucking love it (yes, post h3 beta nerfing)! halogaf has its AR and needler guys, i nominate myself to be the carbine guy.

I try to use it instead of a BR on snowbound, because then you've got a chance both up top and down below. But I usually stick to the BR everywhere else.

Ahh, a fellow Carbine fan approaches. There are so few of us. I'm kinda bummed it won't be in Reach, but the Needle Rifle is a good substitute in my opinion. In Reach, I even preferred the Needle Rifle to the DMR. It was a lot easier to use for me.

it kicks ass everywhere you can grab it. high ground? kicks ass. snowbound? kicks ass. guardian? kicks ass. you get the point. also, it needs to be on more maps.

the needle rifle is cool, but its no carbine. (funny enough, i preferred the dmr to the nerfle in the beta).

Yeah, it's no Carbine, but I still think it's a pretty good substitute.

However, after watching several videos of the new and improved weapons, the DMR seems to be better than it was in the Beta, so maybe I'll prefer it over the Nerfle in the final game.

The rate of fire makes it a great assist weapon, if you've got other people laying down shots then you can mop up with it. It never wins against a BR though if the people are of similar skill. :(

I do love picking it up on High Ground though...

Well it talks about the history leading up to reach, shows the new vehicles up close.. stuff about interviews and all that good stuff and LOTS of pretty pictures! ;)

For me I like using the Carbine when I run out of ammo in my BR and I'm not safe enough to reload it. It really comes in handy then.

Well right now im sitting in bed and don't have the magazine right by me but it shows the rocket hog that we all have seen now, shows some red "ghost-like" vehicle talks about the game modes that we all pretty much know about now. The pictures consist of lots of spartans with different armors and so on. and shows some of the maps and such I don't think there is much single player info thankfully.

Well the 7th is what the most recent issue said, so I was just passing that info along. But I'm glad you're awesome and have it already.

EDIT: Looks like what I'm talking about is actually different than the magazine you have. It specifically says:

"Look for our limited newsstand-only Halo edition of OXM on September 7."

And legendary edition is pretty much sold out in NZ... well, wasn't planning on buying it anyway. Really impressed with what I have seen so far, good job Bungie! I really hope the story is as satisfying for me as it was in Halo 1 and 2. Halo 3 was a bit disappointment for me in that regard. I also loved the cinematic style in Halo wars.
 
Man, seeing that Halo-centric GamePro covers gets me hyped :D I remember the GameInformer Halo 3 issue in like November of '06 or something, where they showed of "Shrine" and Guardian and Snowbound, and teased Narrows. Man, I remember reading it like every day til the beta :lol

I picked up nearly every mag that had Halo 2 and 3 on the cover back in the day; they're in a box in my attic somewhere. I'll probably snag one or two of the Reach cover stories; I do like a nice meaty print article. The only gaming magazine I subscribe to is Edge, and they already did their cover story. Though I'll probably snag one other than Gamepro.

I actually just threw away my EGM copy with the Halo 3 cover. I found it while going through old junk in a move. I buy these Halo cover magazines thinking I should save them for some odd reason.

Those looked spectacular. Definite leak at some level though, dude was having a ball in Forge on those maps.

That looks so much better in motion than that screenshot. It's like straight out of Warcraft or something...

Not sure what to make of the new maps yet. So much at once...

Also, it's a shame Eazy had to go out like that. :/

O_O That radar looked really fake in that screen. Damn, did the game leak or is this just some random guy who decided to show some stuff we haven't seen?

Hope he shows some more gameplay, not story spoilers or anything.
 
I guess the motion detection wave thingie looking all fucked up was a side effect of shoddy capturing then.
