It's smart to optimize the game to run it well with very old hardware, particularly in case of GaaS. It increases the amount of potential customers.

It's not really optimization per se. The level design is clearly very boxy and not very high demanding. The slick looking textures will look blurry as hell on a 4 GB card.

Boxy design for most environment, weapons and costume parts models and using flat colors for textures highly decreases the GPU horsepower and RAM/VRAM needed.

This is a decision made on purpose to optimize the game's performance in lower end devices.

I assume that by "level design" you mean environment art, because level design more than the art refers to the colliding parts of the environment (always boxy in all games) plus the strategic placement of enemies, obstacles and covers, collectables, environmental hazards, player respawn and destination goals, etc.

I still dont know why this isnt on the ps4....the game is clearly not very technically ambitious or demanding. They could have added a large user base, if they were going next-gen exclusive for technical reasons might as well make an actual case for it. That being said, credit where it's due, they have improved the presentation and visuals significantly from the alpha, etc now it looks visually appealing, even if technically it's pretty basic.

You're a hoot. Let me guess you also still play on a 1080p tv or monitor?

Atleast the requirements match the graphics lol.

By the way, i feel this might do better than most on here expect/want (atleast on PC).
I have noticed the game toppong the sales charts on a few key sites already, sites thathave no link to Sony, or any pblisher.

Huh? I have a ps5 wth you on about?
My point had nothing to do with my own desire to play it on the PS4. Read the premise of my post, the game is not demanding or technically ambitious, it could easily be ported to the ps4 and would gain a very large user base since its a gaas title to reach as wide an audience as possible.
