Preordered the one from France shipping to the UK. Still have my amazon uk and nintendo preorders geee

I guess it won't arrive on time but it changes to £260 so almost £20 off.

That’s pretty cheap anyway. Keep the ugly monster for home usage, when you get a native UK plug one use it for the road.

Still is a small difference if you want to justify the extra hassle in support, warranties and stuff.

Cross posting, but I’m thinking about ordering one from Amazon fr and returning it to Amazon uk once my Amazon uk order comes through, but wondering if Amazon uk would probably not accept the French one.

But as you say, warranties and support (plus potentially having to sell the French one if Amazon UK doesn’t take it back) are probably not worth the £20 saved at this point.

So, I got my Preorder on amazon.de in, and the one on amazon.fr.

Unless amazon.de doesn't match the french prices I'll just cancel that order. Launch delivery be damned. I'm basically saving a good 60 bucks on my order if I buy it from France. Basically gets me an extra game for the same price. Just insane.

I can wait a week for delivery.

I'm not even sure you have to wait if you're in Germany; Amazon.fr actually has warehouses in Germany and it's usually the same as if you order from Amazon.de iirc

This.

People went ahead and already bought controllers when they were available for purchase, now that's hype. Are they really going to require you to use a Smartphone app to use online stuff?

I have no option to choose delivery method when ordering through amazon.fr, so I asume the standard delivery time of 3 to 5 work days applies.

Keep the order. Try to get the 178€ price (price guarantee) if not just send it back

So, I have a couple of orders from Fnac.com and I need to clear it up. Like Naked Snake, I’m having trouble cancelling my 1st order, which apparently is related to having ordered the Fnac+ service together with. For the other orders I have the modify order and cancel order buttons.

My French is basic and I don’t have Android. What do?

So, is Amazon.fr the only one cutting the price? Shouldn't the others (Amazon.de/it/es) follow suit to match the price?

Amazon.fr simply matched other french retailers, not sure if other amazons are supposed to match a different country prices? Is that how it usually goes?

Ordering from amazon.fr would only save me 14 euros compared to amazon.es and I would probably get the system 1 week later at least... doesn't seem worth it to me.

I've caved in and bought it from amazon.fr – even got my Neon Version instead of the Grey one, which I absolutely regretted not getting before.

Edit: Nvm. just received an estimate delivery time. :D

So as a german resident and permanent prime user, who gets the package from germany, will it be here the 3rd of March or can I expect it to arrive later than that?

it's up to amazon. but expect it to be at your doorstep around monday/tuesday.

There's no price quarantee on pricing errors.

Yeah, if amazon.de goes to a similar difference (about 15 to 20 Euros) I'll stick with that order. But not for nearly 60 Euros difference.

Its highly doubtful that the "pricing error" clause kn the GTCs are valid pursuant to german law

I just called amazon.de. They can't do anything at this moment because there aren't any information in regards to the price. the 329€ tag is just a placeholder.

I also asked if they'll adjust the price to match the french price. They won't.

They are valid. Pre-orders don't constitute a buying contract. That is only the case once you actually pay. As of now, it's a reservation, not a contract, so price guarantee for pricing errors doesn't apply.

Yes thats why i say keep the order. Once amazon ships the contract is valid and the pre order guarantee applies. The provision regarding pricing errors is too vague and is likely to be invalid meaning that the terms of the price guarantee will apply with the following text

Whenever you pre-order an item eligible for our Pre-order Price Guarantee, the price you pay will be the lowest price offered by Amazon between the time you place your order up to and including the release date, (where the item has a stated release date), or the date the item is dispatched or electronically fulfilled (where the item does not have a stated release date).

This does not include pricing erros. And prices resulting fromn errors due to technical reasons are NEVER valid.

There is absolutely NO chance that Amazon will sell out the Switch for a low price like that to all the persons that have preordered that thing.

No it doesn't. The Price Guarantee isn't valid for errors. And since a pre order isn't a contract you have no legal grounds to claim price guarantee. Unless the pricing error is still there once you pay, since only then do you have a legally binding contract.

It is completely up to Amazon to honour that price error, there is no legal recourse since no contract has been made, and Amazons terms state clearly that pricing errors are excempt. (which would only be worthless if you already paid or had a contract order)

I'll keep the amazon.de order for as long as possible, but I'm not going to waste my time hoping against reason for Amazon to honour a pricing error as severe as this one.
If indeed it turns out that Amazon will sell all those pre orders for half the normal price (which they won't) then fine.

I'm in the same boat, but I think I'll keep my preorder with Amazon France unless Amazon UK lower their price further. Which may well happen closer to release.

350€ with Zelda + 20€ on your card, now at Fnac.
Starting to like this :)
330€...really close to that ideal 299€ price I wanted with Zelda now.

That's 30€ on your card with the code Switch30. So 320€.
SWITCH30 is not working right now.

But yeah KooopaKid, add anything else from gaming to that and you’ll get 30€ back. Personally I added a Switch Accessory set, since I was going to get it anyway.

Oh? I used it a couple of hours ago.

With the money on the card, I need to make another purchase on their website and then can use that money, or how does it work?

Surprised it is still available for preorder at Amazon.fr.

Demand probably isn't that high. There are some Switch-related items running out of stock and coming back in stock, so it's probably not a mistake. France probably just have a large stock allocation.

That may be bullshit but anyway : I read on a french forum someone saying he had insiders sources from Nintendo telling him there were around 110 000 consoles day one
Fnac and Amazon got 35 000 each. Fnac didn't sell 35 000 pre orders yet but Amazon did sell everything with a 20% surplus. So lots of people may not get the console day one if there isn't any added supply. The first who preordered will get it, others will have to have resupply.

Oh..
Good thing I'm keeping a hold on my early amazon.fr pre-order then.

Still weird considering France is probably the biggest European market for Nintendo, at least relative to the market for consoles.

Contacted Amazon FR again today and the rep guarenteed release day delivery. Also for some reason they knocked off the cost of shipping which was very nice of them, yet confusing! Still, €350 for the console and Zelda, with free delivery for release day. I can't complain.
