Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated was a great show

Even as an adult during its air time, I never missed an episode. The animation was top notch, the jokes and drama therein were suprisingly adult, it was even a very dark take on scooby doo. It touched on murder, eldrich horror with a spoof on hp love craft, and even child abandonment with the issues surrounding freds true parentage. It paid homage to classic 80's and 70's horror constantly and even managed to to poke fun at its hanna barbera roots with a hilarious cross over episode that had other forgotten scooby doo knock offs of the time. It added so much depth to each character and their relationships with one another. It was a supremely intelligent and wonderful show. Its a shame it got cancelled after only two seasons, I guess scooby doo is forever relligated to wwe crossovers now.

it wasnt cancelled, it finished its story, infact mystery incorporated was the longest running scooby doo show

there is a new series called be cool scooby doo airing right now

Not only is it the best Scooby Doo show period, it's also a great show in its own right. The show went places I was not expecting, and ended on a damn good note. I recommend this to anyone interested in animated shows (alongside stuff like JLU and Samurai Jack, for example).

It was basically Buffy for kids. Took one-note characters and fleshed them out with some really fun universe-building and compelling season-long arcs. Too bad it's been replaced by the watered-down slapstick of Be Cool Scooby Doo, though it still has some funny moments. The art style is also abysmal and cheap in comparison.

I remember watching it late at night on the "All Fear the Freak" episode and actually getting creeped the fuck out.

The curse begun
But soon they'll see
The curse of Crystal Cove
Shall end with me...

*maniacal laughter*

Great humor too.

One of the best US animated shows ever. It nailed it on every aspect - story, characterization, artwork and design. I loved that it still did the monster-of-the-week yet had a serialized part of it as well. It's a shame Cartoon Network buried the second season.

I'm also waiting for Blu-rays of this show, but in the meantime bought the digital seasons in HD on Amazon. This show definitely deserves to be watched in HD.

It's ironic that Buffy cribbed from Scooby Doo, But for some reason the Buffy animated series wasn't able to get off the ground, aside from a short promo:

So when Mystery Incorporated came out, I always said it was the Buffy animated series that never was. The circle is complete.

Best Scooby-Doo thing ever along with the Zombie Island movie. Going through this again on Netflix right now actually.

This was a really great series and the ending was satisfying on its own. Maybe WB can take a few more older series and give them the mystery incorporated treatment.

I've only seen a couple episodes of this one and that was years ago. Thanks for this; because of this thread I think I'll have to check it out in full now.

Great show. My SO started watching it (it's on Netflix), and I ended up catching most of it and really digging it. Hopefully we can get a new, equally-excellent Scooby Doo series down the road at some point.

I'm 10 episodes in and wow! Holy cannoli this show is amazing! Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention, everyone. It's got me listening to Earth, Wind, Fire and Aaaaiiir! (It's appropriate Earth Day was the other day.)

♪♫ We may look bad but we don't care! ♪♫ (You rock Jen Hale!)

Fred shutting down Daphne and generally being utterly oblivious (but in a sweet way) does not get old; the delivery and expressions get me so good. Fred, Daphne, and Sheriff Stone are the best characters, and that's not to say the rest of the gang isn't great, because they are.

The Terminator/Cujo episode I just watched was awesome. Scoob driving the forklift to fight the robo-dog Ripley-style and crushing it with the one-liner "Play dead" while the actual Terminator drum was in the back was sogood.gif (as the kids say).

Does anyone know if the soundtrack ever got any kind of release? Because the Carpenter-esque synth and accompanying homages are wonderful! I can't find anything anywhere, besides the intro/outro music and Hex Girls songs (which are also delightful). It's a shame if there isn't anything. Another great score lost.

I wanted to see this on my plane trip back from New Zealand but they only had Season 2. Been wanting to give this a shot? Is it on Netflix?

The first season was great, but I feel like the second season dropped the ball pretty hard. I ended up pretty disappointed with the overall plot and such, though I know the development hell the show went through at times

Top tier Scooby doo, along with Ghoul School, zombie island and witches ghost.

I can believe they got Harlan Ellison in to play himself, that was "like" great.

Were The New Scooby-Doo Movies any good? I remember liking the three stooges one when I was a kid, but I've not watched it since.

I loved every bit of it. And the fact that there's actually a character called Hot Dog Water made it become one of my favorite cartoons ever.

Got really dark the last few episodes.

Is the show on digital distribution or blu-ray? I saw a few episodes and I really dug it, but I fell behind and never got caught up.

I want to give it another shot.

I loved this series. But then again I love most of the Scooby Doo stuff (current one included). Eagerly awaiting a physical release

I binged watched it over a weekend and I'll tell you it was the most sad I was to know a show was over in a long time. I enjoyed every episode. Best in the series for sure. Also that dig on Scrappy lmao.

I love this show. Best Scooby-Doo ever! Nothing else comes close to it, I wish they could have done now seasons.Great parodies, funny and Fred has a hilarious personality.
Udo Kier as Pericles is awesome. "Hallo, kinder".

I need to rewatch it soon.

It was amazing, and the fact that for once CN allowed something amazing be completed is the real surprise.

The whole show was like a love letter to older Scooby Doo fans who just wanted some depth to their favorite show growing up.

I just recently finished this series. I feel very indifferent about the ending. I love aspects of the ending;
the set up for more adventure
. I hate other aspects of the ending; (major ending spoilers)
changing what Crystal Cove is (the most hauntingest place on earth, let it keep mystery)

I have tried to find comments from the creative team behind this show made since the show ended but I haven't been able to find anything. Was there ever any plans for a possible third season? Are there any chances of getting a new Scooby Doo cartoon that runs with an over-arching story like this one?

I'm investigating this show online and all I can find are scattered message board threads across the internet where fans show appreciation for it. I can't find any interviews or commentary about the show by the talent behind it. It feels like the best iteration of Scooby Doo just came and went and now it's gone and few people are singing its praises. What happened here?

This is such a brilliant cartoon. Finishing it was honestly a sad experience. I feel so indifferent about the ending, it adds to the sadness of the show only having two seasons.

I wish this show received more attention in the years after it ended, like Young Justice has

I quite liked it and liked that it finished. I still remember how hilarious the ska zombies episode was.

I still quote the show occasionally. "Velma, that's villain profiling! We don't do that here!"

I haven't seen much of it but it's definitely the only Scooby-Doo show worth a damn. Proper character development really goes a long way.

No, it ended as intended.
Cartoon Network just screwed them over on actually airing the episodes.

I don't know who exactly but a decent number of crew went on and did Gravity Falls for Disney.

God this show had my favorite background art of all time, even over BTAS.
