PS4 System Software Update 4.50 Features Detailed

I get a message saying the system file is not compatible or something. It is a brand new HDD and it's frustrating.
I had to go through some formatting nonsense on my MAC to get my external HDD recognized when I was switching from standard to Pro. It wasn't as easy as it should have been

Okay people I'm downloading now on the burner account. A few minutes and I'll be installing. Start quoting this post and I'll pass on the login details via PM first come first served (won't expire so don't worry).

DO NOT CHANGE THE PASSWORD PLEASE.

May I get in on this please?

Nice! Going to put a 4TB one on there asap.

Few questions.

Does it need to be a HDD with external power supply or will one without do as well.
If so, does it need a splitter cable like the Wii U to draw enough power from the system or just a single USB cable?

And can you add it to the internal size (2TB+4TB=6) or is it a case of one or the other?

you can use any external up to 8tb, it just needs to be formatted to exfat or fat32. The internal and external arent really added together but are usable in any way as you can set either as primary storage.

Oh wow, ok. so it's possible to boot without an internal drive at all?

So if you set the external HDD as primary storage, then you cannot use the internal one for games?

Also, is it possible to move already installed games from the internal to the external and vice versa?

you can use both for games, setting one as primary just means thats where it will download and store things. And yes as far as im aware you can move things back and forth.

I would like to test pro beast mode so count me in please.

Anyone else testing speeds between internal and external storage?

I tested a few games and external is barely a second faster, but I've been using the stock 500GB HDD on an external enclosure. Now I'm wondering how much faster an external SSD would be.

I hope in the future Sony allows you to move your data from internal HDD to external HDD, or vice versa. A nice application management tool to drag and drop content.

Yeah the one on Xbox One is almost perfect.

Almost because it doesn't have the option to do a lumpsum transfer. You have to manually tell each game to transfer

I can copy files like photos or videos and I can create a copy of the system on the HDD. No matter what tho, it is not appearing under Storage as an available option.

Downgraded back to 4.07 to be able to use remote play on my MacBook. No issues with downgrade. :) can't wait to jump back on beast mode when remote play gets supported on 4.5 release!

Fuck me in the butthole. I DID NOT SEE THE OPTION TO FORMAT THE FUCKING THING ON THE CONSOLE.

Now it's working! I was about to break a glass of wine on my head. 3 TB baby here we goooooo.

I don't like how you can't remove all notifications. You can mark them as read but can't delete them.

You should also have complete control over what people see in theirs what's new relating to you.

You should be able to select individually .. screenshots you share.... videos.... trophies.... games played etc.

As it stands it's all lumped in together apart from trophies.

Just got the update and not liking the consolidated notification section. How will someone be able to manage downloads if they get a bunch of notifications?

So its basically like how it works with the XBOX ONE..I already had some stuff on internal storage..but I connected my external drive and have it set for all future downloads to go to that..so I can play my games on external or internal..I wonder if the speed of the games loading is the same on external as on internal
