Edit : works fine. If anything, seemed a little snappier than normal. Have loads of games downloading to it too. So pretty good test I'd say.

At effing last with the external storage. Disc installs have always been quick, but the absurd patch sizes have made keeping multiple games installed a pain. Got a spare 2TB drive ready and waiting to install at least a dozen games on.

The first column of quick menu options collapses down to just the graphic icons once you select one now, before it kept showing the text.

The '...' more options icon was also added to Online Friends in the quick menu I think.

Wow, external storage is fantastic news. Finally Sony is listening. I also hope the notification streamlining makes it easier to mark things as read.

I hope one of the additional mystery features is an improved media player on par with the PS3. I'm tired of plugging in the PS3 every time I want to watch a DVD or Blu-Ray.

I thought the same but it actually changed. If you scroll to the right it removes the word labels from buttons on the left so it takes up less space.

The reworked Notifications list is clearly worse. Everything crammed together in one list, the list is at a larger font so less items are visible and I have to press Options to see Downloads and Uploads specifically. Total trash.

So, I just tested uncharted 4 with no patches, and it runs so much better than PS4 pro patched uncharted. Not a single dip in the boat scene..

Which makes me wonder, can we toggle between pro patch and this at a later date

Unfortunately you can't, nor can you crop the image. For what it is tho it's pretty good, I'm really liking my black wood background. Hopefully down the line we have more options and customization.

haven't tested it myself but i'm sure it will be fine. I think someone else said you can use games from the external on any ps4 with your account on.

For those that have the beta of this..is the external storage run faster than internal..which hard drive do you all recommend..I usually get Seagate but I have a Western Digital that works good too..Im thinking of getting a 4TB drive..maybe one that doesnt run on AC power not sure if that is allowed here or I would need to get one with AC power
