Injustice 2 Roster Discussion & Speculation Thread

Black Canary looks super fluid and responsive compared to everyone else. Pretty cool. Gotta give NRS credit on the huge upgrade to female fighters, they're leagues better than previous efforts.

Not sure just how different this game is mechanically from the first game but it looks far more interesting to me so far. Were there multiple evasion options in the first one with directional escapes via meter?
 
Website got updated, character reveal is now happening on Feb 13th instead of Feb 7th.

Most likely whatever they had planned for the 7th (If it was new) is gonna happen on the Watchtower Stream on the 8th.

Though it's also possible that that particular news got pushed back a week.

or maybe once the reveal date hit today, it just automatically flipped to the next one.
 
Christ. Canary's moves are so damn sick. I am so looking forward to learning her. Didn't expect her character trait to be her Canary Cry, but I really like that it is. It makes perfect sense that she has to wait a bit before unleashing a full blast (which looks fucking fantastic, by the way) again.

I'd be quite disappointed if the reveal tomorrow is just for Green Arrow. I'd prefer it if they spent more time marketing the new characters as opposed to returning ones. Then again, keeping more of the new characters a secret would be cool too. If they do reveal Ollie, I hope he's back with some new moves.

EDIT: Just saw that it's been pushed back. Damn shame.

I really hope this is the case. I was looking forward to today. :( Not that I'm not looking forward to today at all without it because that would be depressing but I really had my heart set on a reveal lol.
 
For the record, Superman's moveset is great.

Blame the players that only do f23 into breath forever and never use his target combos or other ex moves.

People will always use what's easiest and most damaging. Would be nice to see people using more of his kit though. Nice to know there's more to it...but I haven't really seen anyone using anything but meter burn lasers and the freeze combo.
 
My biggest issue with Superman is just how good he is.

I get why they make him easy to play, and for the most part his moveset fits his character.

But because of how easy he is, and how bland he can be played, he should be like low mid tier.

They remade his target combos, they look sick.

And his other ex moves look cool.

But hey, gotta f23 rage f2 ex breathe forever then complain the character is boring.

My biggest issue with Superman is just how good he is.

I get why they make him easy to play, and for the most part his moveset fits his character.

But because of how easy he is, and how bland he can be played, he should be like low mid tier.

He should not be low tier.

They should just rebalance his tools to force people to do other things.

Low tier in this game would be unplayable with Superman's current moveset.
 
Maybe they should tone down the utility of that combo, if there's not much downside to it. People aren't going to go for variety for variety's sake if there's no reason to.

Other players could also start blocking and stop jumping to get caught by it forever.

I guess adding recovery to breath on block could force people to stop mashing f23 forever, they'd have to commit to it.

and it's still way to damn good.

They do need to either tone down his corner damage and remove the OTG divebomb setups, or significantly reduce his corner damage and let me keep the resets.

Because there's no reason to use them. F2 is a fantastic neutral/whiff punishing mid normal, breath makes it safe instead of punishable. In IGAU B23 was literally useless outside of setups, 112 caused a hard knockdown but the recovery of the move made it so you couldn't do anything after, 111 is pure combo punish and it doesn't net you a lot of damage from anything and it's 6 frames while f2 was 8 frames so why wouldn't you f2? B1 is a good low to be thrown out for people that like to create space by walking backwards or in the corner as they fear overhead divebombs and F2D1 is a good string to catch people offguard that block high but it scales heavily and, here's the thing, why would you ever block high against Superman outside the corner? F23 is the go to because it's his best, most damaging string.


Edit: oh, and they nerfed 223 so you can't combo midscreen and scoop so it can't continue combos without meter so can't do that kind game without a bar for 30 percent.

F2 should not be a high, come on people. Breath has changed to -2 and f23 trait is much less advantageous while scoop can't be used as a combo extender without bar and B2 has changed so his super ambiguous corner setup is gone. Supes is extremely fair in this beta beyond divebomb in the corner and even those are easier to tell which will crossup.
 
Honestly only thing I hate is how fast he recovers on his standing 3 giving him stupid corner damage, beta wise anyway. Character is still mad boring and don't want anything to do with him lol
 
The roster page on the official site was recently changed so that you can't cycle back through the characters once you reach the end, but they didn't bother to get rid of the extra boxes, so there are still 36 slots.

between the inaccurate countdowns and inflated roster page, NRS really needs to get a better hold on the official site. It's routinely setting people up for disappointment and confusion.
