Smash Bros. Wii U was the complete opposite of doing DLC right.
So we have an incomplete game until Holiday.
Wonder how much storage space that will take... 😒

why?
The first content pack is scheduled to launch this summer and will include the addition of a Cave of Trials challenge, a new hard mode and a new feature for the in-game map. The second content pack will launch in Holiday 2017, and adds new challenges that will let players enjoy a new dungeon and a new original story.
Pretty cheap compared to other fighting games isn't a good thing.Care to expand on that ?
Smash DLC's was pretty cheap compared to other fighting games
Wtf? No.
Nobody said that.
Games with DLC are incomplete? So we have an incomplete game until Holiday.
Why didn't you mention the new story?50~ for the "whole" game. 20 for a dungeon and a few upgrades ?
Yeah sure... No thank you.
A season pass for Zelda? I never thought I would see the day LOL. how did we get here as a society?
LOL what was this in response to?
Thank you Nintendo you did the choice for me, won't be buying the game until GOTY edition that includes all this stuff on the gamecard.
Nobody uses that in general terms though. More like, "Nintendo, stop using old hardware and compete with actual modern consoles so you get third party support."Yes, so many on this forum use that as a talking point against Nintendo. Nintendo needs to get with the times and such. I was okay with not having to pay for online and day one DLC.
Yeah, and a new story. Why would you leave that out? It's by far the most interesting aspect of this expansion pass.50~ for the "whole" game. 20 for a dungeon and a few upgrades ?
Yeah sure... No thank you.
This is the shit that pisses me off. DLC months from release is a sign of an incomplete game? Fuck off.So we have an incomplete game until Holiday.
Because people want to be pessimistic about it on purpose. This thread is already going down the shitter for a completely fair dlc months down the road.Yeah, and a new story. Why would you leave that out?
For 1/3 of the game's price I expect a lot. That does sound like substantial additional content. Tempted.
Others do it so no bad policy.ITT: Nintendo is the first company to ever do DLC and it's a scheme to sell an incomplete game.
To be fair, never once did I feel like I didn't have a complete game full of content when I've purchased Nintendo titles wth dlc available (Pikmin, smash, and Mario kart). Pikmin and Mario kart dlc prices were a steal for the content you received. But I guess we'll see when we play the game if the content is there. If you feel slighted, pass on the dlc. I know I will. How times change. Some years ago at least Nintendo fans still got "the full package" right from the start.
That does sound like substantial additional content. Tempted.
Yes when people say this they mean they want Nintendo to charge them more money yup...Yes, so many on this forum use that as a talking point against Nintendo. Nintendo needs to get with the times and such. I was okay with not having to pay for online and day one DLC.
For 1/3 of the game's price I expect a lot.
You do realize the work that goes into fighting game characters (conceptualizing, making deals if it's a guest character, animating, balancing, voice acting, debugging, etc.), right? $4-6 for a fighting game character is perfectly fair given what it takes to make one in the first place (hell, in the case of SFV, you even have the option to earn said DLC character using in-game currency).Pretty cheap compared to other fighting games isn't a good thing.
Still too many individual packs, all prices far too high.
Fighting games in general value individual characters at far higher prices than they're worth.
Games with DLC are incomplete?
Why didn't you mention the new story?
50~ for the "whole" game. 20 for a dungeon and a few upgrades/updates ?
The Switch keeps getting pricier.
Maybe I should just stick to the cheaper Wii U version for now and buy the Switch GOTY version next year for cheap, maybe during some drought.
