No bald cap? Lies!
I hope the dungeon is pretty labyrinthine. It would be cool to have a really huge multi part dungeon.

Wonder how much storage space that will take... 😒

...Oh shit, yeah. When considering the game is 13.4 GB on its own, Breath of the Wild, complete on its own, is likely to easily take up half of the Switch's base internal storage if you get a digital copy.

Better invest in those microSD cards, digital buyers.

The holiday pack sounds awesome!

Hard mode being locked behind a paywall is stupid as hell. But then again, the game is already hard. Don't tell me new game+ is also included in this upgrade..

I assume the cost of the pass won't increase at any point? The only thing I can see is "Content packs cannot be purchased individually." If that's the case, I'll totally wait until the last pack is released to see if it's worth it.

I can hope that Nintendo of all companies will actually put a ton of stuff into something that costs 1/3rd the price of the full game but I'm just so sour from other "season passes" that It's hard to believe.

why?

LOL what was this in response to?

Nintendo's DLC trackrecord is really decent (Fire Emblem / New Super Mario Bros. 2 are a bit on the pricy side, but still ok, the rest is really good), I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

well, look who is buying Zelda DLC
The first content pack is scheduled to launch this summer and will include the addition of a Cave of Trials challenge, a new hard mode and a new feature for the in-game map. The second content pack will launch in Holiday 2017, and adds new challenges that will let players enjoy a new dungeon and a new original story.

Sounds good to me for 20€

The 2nd content pack seems a bit more hype-worthy than the first. The season pass price is a bit higher than I anticipated (compared to MK8's Season Pass), but it's still a solid price-to-content deal.

Care to expand on that ?
Smash DLC's was pretty cheap compared to other fighting games
Pretty cheap compared to other fighting games isn't a good thing.

Still too many individual packs, all prices far too high.

Fighting games in general value individual characters at far higher prices than they're worth.

50~€ for the "whole" game. 20 for a dungeon and a few upgrades/updates ?
Yeah sure... No thank you. Well... could be only 10, wouldn't change my opinion.
If there was room for story, should have been in the first release.
I'll assume it's not interesting/important.

Interesting. Glad they're doing expansion packs, though I'll have to wait and see the specifics before I jump in. Locking a difficulty setting behind a paywall seems a bit dodgy, though. It'd have to be a pretty substantial rebalance to justify that.

Yes, so many on this forum use that as a talking point against Nintendo. Nintendo needs to get with the times and such. I was okay with not having to pay for online and day one DLC.
Nobody uses that in general terms though. More like, "Nintendo, stop using old hardware and compete with actual modern consoles so you get third party support."

So actually, the concept of DLC for Zelda excites me--at least, if it's an additional story content and game content (extra dungeon etc).

I won't buy the season pass until I know more since I doubt every peice of DLC will interest me (especially Hard Mode. I suck at games and don't like them being more difficult combat-wise than they have to).

Also that art is hawt. Does someone have a link to a hi-res version?

Yeah, forgot Nintendo already did this with Twilight Princess HD (locking Hard mode behind an additional paywall).
Ugh.

Wait so an actual balanced hard mode instead of the bullshit 2x or 4x damage no heart drops that makes the early game hard but the rest of the game just as easy?

I can only hope

How times change. Some years ago at least Nintendo fans still got "the full package" right from the start.
To be fair, never once did I feel like I didn't have a complete game full of content when I've purchased Nintendo titles wth dlc available (Pikmin, smash, and Mario kart). Pikmin and Mario kart dlc prices were a steal for the content you received. But I guess we'll see when we play the game if the content is there. If you feel slighted, pass on the dlc. I know I will.

That does sound like substantial additional content. Tempted.

The second pack does; a new dungeon's the sort of draw I can get behind. Not sure about the first. "New feature for the map" sounds awfully vague, I wonder if it's simply a treasure map like Forza Horizon.

Aw yeah, I am so down for more Zelda content throughout the year. Nintendo's DLC is been pretty on point thus far, so I'm sure this will be fine.

You do realize the work that goes into fighting game characters (conceptualizing, making deals if it's a guest character, animating, balancing, voice acting, debugging, etc.), right? $4-6 for a fighting game character is perfectly fair given what it takes to make one in the first place (hell, in the case of SFV, you even have the option to earn said DLC character using in-game currency).

Games with DLC are incomplete?

Why didn't you mention the new story?

They are straight up selling hard mode after the game launches. That seems pretty incomplete to me.

It's strange since Nintendo has (for the most part) been really good about DLC. Hyrule Warriors and Mario Kart 8 in particular.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Yeah dude it doesnt work like that. Reminds me of the people who thought a Smash Bros. characters should cost more than a buck because the standard game features so many characters for for 60 bucks.

The Switch keeps getting pricier.

Maybe I should just stick to the cheaper Wii U version for now and buy the Switch GOTY version next year for cheap, maybe during some drought.

If your ultimate goal is to spend less money, then buying two different verisons of the same game is definitely not what you'd want to do.
