I don't think he's legitimately anti-Semitic but this is absolutely deserved.

He is an idiot who tried far too hard to be "edgy" in order to bring more attention to his channel and it's not the first time.

He did it to himself.

Sort of sad that the yearning for identity and acceptance has brought so many to attempt to justify 4chan memes as any modicum of humor.

Should've known better than to joke about that. Sad to see it go south though. I've never seen his videos until just days ago when I started watching him play Resident Evil 7 and simply couldn't stop watching, he's loud and annoying but it was certainly enjoying to see him get so honestly scared and tried to chat himself out of the anxiety.

While I'm glad there is punishment for what he did, I mean his channel is still going to live on and he's still going to make a lot of money, just not as much as before correct?

Or is this the death knell of his channel?

Well no advertiser will want to use his channel to promote their products, he will also stop getting free games and product to promote as again his channel has been tainted.

He'll probably still get some free games. I bet the guys that made Hatred are trying to call him up as we speak.

are you talking about 2017 Oscar nominee Mel Gibson?
yeah he totally got black listed by companies.

Ok, so just wait 11 years, show that you have "learned" ...

That being said, racism and any sort of hate speech - even if not considered serious will and should have consequences

He had a reality show? I thought he was just a guy who made millions yelling at games. Oh well, I'm sure he'll be fine. With his millions and millions.

The video in question if anyone is curious

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtxXKezbQ9w

Will be interesting to see what he has to say on the matter, when he wants to he actually talks about more 'serious' topics in a calm and concise manner, like forced positivity on youtube and of course the craaazy money he makes
why oh why did he upload a video like that if it was just a dumb joke to test if they would write that sign? He could've just said that he write some stupid things and they actually wrote the sign anyway. He must've known what would happen, otherwise he wouldn't have said he was sorry and that he wasn't anti-semitic etc afterwards. Was it a test to see what he could get away with?

Why did he do it? Doesn't really matter I guess, he still made a fuck ton of money and is set for a few lives. Well, he should be anyway. He had to have seen this coming.

I'm less likely to believe that he's anti semitic but I do believe he's an idiot and unfortunately this idiot is followed and adored by millions of children, who now think Nazi propaganda can be fun!

Guess who else is defending their hero? Well their movement can't be all bad, they are defending their bestest buddy PewDiePie!
That is true. All we can do is hope that the kids are taught in school that being anti-semitic is wrong. Problem is that they are definitely not all taught that in certain regions. I do think it's especially stupid when his audience is kids

His Twitter isn't banned, not sure why people are suggesting it is.

Indeed. Good to see finally consequences on people normalizing racism and nazism on the net.
Yep. People got use to it because you can legally express yourself this way in US (not the same in a lot of countries), but a sponsor have its own terms.

Well... it was no secret Gibson was black listed in hollywood no one wanted to work with him . The film he was nominated for wasnt backed by any big time companies in Hollywood... only after it received critical praise etc etc did people begin to letting Mel back into the "hollywood spotlight." Money talks I guess.

Felix is a good dude who doesn't deserve the avalanche of vitriol he's receiving over this. Obviously Disney would cut ties and he should have known better. But youtube is over-reacting like most of these threads, pc culture gone way too far. Liberals turning into some fringe hard line group attacking anyone and anything seen as offensive. Even things done in jest, comedy when needed most right now is getting attacked by this hyper-sensitive fringe. It's sad. Not the way to get either a conversation going or point across. There absolutely are people trying to normalize nazi-ism and racism, but Felix certainly is not.

He clearly doesn't give a fuck who his audience is, but to be honest with that much money and all, why should he even care restricting access to his things?

Is this really the kind of comedy we need most right now? Really?

Yes he is. He's not doing it on purpose obviously, but he's unwittingly showing millions of little kids that "Death to all Jews" is funny.

Like come on man, there's defending a comedian's right to a dark joke, and then there's defending a HOLOCAUST joke told to a bunch of impressionable kids.

He's young enough that hopefully this is a learning experience and he can make an effort to better himself.

Then again, the mixed cocktail of money, narcissism, and perceived lack of accountability makes a hell of a roadblock to actually learn from this. Guess we'll see how much (if at all) he regrets the way this all went down in the coming months.

That's been a weird thing in general with YouTube "stars". I'm in my 30s and occasionally enjoy Markiplier and Game Grumps because they make me laugh. I don't consider myself uptight but I really wouldn't want my child under the age of 13, at the minimum and with a lot of discussion, watching their vids. I have a kid whose almost 4 and sometimes he'll catch me watching them on my tablet and want to watch too for the gameplay so I either have to turn it off or mute it. Definitely don't want him repeating that shit in pre-school.

I never really followed Pewdie but from casual observations he definitely seems to be in his rockstar-who-doesn't-give-a-shit-anymore phase.

edit: I guess it's no different than me sneaking my dad's porn or watching inappropriate stuff on MTV or cable. I suppose it's the accessibility that is the troubling part. But that's the internet in general. A lot of shit I'll be dealing with in the near future.

I've seen this kind of thinking from a few people and I just want to say it's bullshit. If someone makes a racist joke against any other minority group, people don't try to explain it away as "Oh well I'm sure they arn't actually racist, they just made a bad joke." but it seems to be a thought lots of people hold when the minority group in question is Jewish people. I don't know if this is because people see Ashkenazi Jews as "white" so it's more ok to make such jokes, but believe me if he had paid those people to make the sign say "Death to all Blacks" nobody would be coming here to say how not-racist Pewdiepie is. Hell, this thought process of Jews being a more acceptable punching bag probably explains why he thought it was ok to upload these videos in the first place and why it took so long for any sort of action to be taken.

Realize who your audience is and who has access to you. His audience is really young.

You can go on Saturday Night Live or a late night show for adults and do this stuff. You don't make racist jokes on a show like that. He, much like his viewers, needs to grow up and actually use their heads when it comes to what their stage is.

I do think this world has become rather wimpy when it comes to PC things, but there's a time and place for "satire" and certain kinds of "jokes". You don't do this if you're sponsored by Disney and have a huge following of kids. Granted, as parent that's actually worth their while, my daughters have never watched and never would be allowed access to him.

I mean he's posting pictures of a cartoon girl with cameras photographing her in her underwear in a bed. Really? You're ok with 8 year olds seeing this stuff?
