NYT: Trump Campaign Aides Had Repeated Contacts With Russian Intelligence

Yeah that's extra stupid. Trump's been pissing them off since day zero. Not sure if Russia told him not to deal with them or they already suspended shit and were harsh on him causing this situation. Either way, not good for old piss-flavored orange.

The man has zero nuance. Russia would have to know that he couldnt be trusted to handle anything covert or with finesse. He is just a big bully.

He is just the puppet. The stuff he knows is probably broad strokes stuff. NO ONE of any substance would willing tell him any more than the minimum he needs to know

I would like Stephen Miller to be one of the contacts so much. He's surpassed Bannon and Conway on my hate list in such a short time.

I think the story is going to make someone cut and run, figuratively, and then it'll all fall down. The campaign wasn't organized and this isn't a tight group of people. When stuff like this is going on behind the scenes, you can at least pretend everything is normal. It's out in the open now, the pressure is increasing. If they're guilty, somebody will blink first and try to save themselves.

Yea, someone is going to flip or come forward in the next few weeks. Especially if these reports keep coming out.

Time for a special prosecutor.

Exactly what someone on CNN just called for.

Win... torwards what?

I'm rooting for the downfall of Trump, but I am really struggling to see how this changes anything other than "Flynn is gone."

Call me crazy, but I call getting rid of a national security adviser who buys into InfoWars conspiracy theories as a significant change for the better.

How is the Trump diehards the minority when he still has a majority of Republican voter support and Republicans still vote for his proposals at a rate of 99%?
Donald Trump was elected by about one-quarter of all eligible voters, and many millions of them were holding their nose.

"Trump diehard" is not defined as anyone who votes with him. Not to mention there have not been many of those votes.

There's also a second sentence in what you quoted.

I hate Jack Kingston, the douche on CNN right now. The left is still hurt over the election and they are wreaking the nation.

IC is breaking the law, that is the real story here. They broke the law by spying on Flynn.

This is the shit that kills me.

Jesus Christ PATIENCE everyone.

I can assure you that you would not want to live in a country where people can be summarily charged with treason based on news reports.

The wheels are in motion. Things will happen. Please hang in there.

Yep. Nothing will happen overnight. But it sure looks like things have started to go downhill.

Damn you failing NYTimes, WaPo, CNN and the Nazi intelligence agencies!

Just imagine if these same news sites weren't piles of both sides shit during the campaign and did their jobs the way they are now

Am I the only one who checks urls of tweet links posted because honestly most of those usernames are pretty obviously fake upon even a second of glance

IT'S TIME, BOYS

Trump should've never underestimated the power of the fourth estate. Hopefully their efforts bear fruit. At the very least they are painting an image of an illegitimate President Trump.

This news alone, or combined with disastrous previous 4 weeks, won't be enough to force Donald out.

However, it's easy to see where this is all going. The leaks just aren't going to stop here. The NSA is probably gearing up to drop the pee pee tape in a few weeks.

And I'm sure the Republican leadership is in on it too. Why? Notice how none of the crises that have plagued the Trump Administration have maligned Pence. In fact, with the Flynn story, he actually come out as a victim, since he claims he didn't know Flynn was lying.

I have a feeling that the GOP needs Pence to be the POTUS well before the 2018 elections, while they still have control of Congress.

I don't know how well Pence will do, given the circumstances.

Lost the popular vote.
Trump impeached.

Democrats need to throw every single Republican under the bus for supporting Trump or falling in line. They absolutely can't let this end with Trump being out of the White House and don't wait until 2018 to use this against them. Remind those fuckers every single day.

This makes Watergate look like small potatoes. This makes Watergate look like littering.

I'm not sure everyone understand how absolutely gigantic and unprecedented this situation is.

Yup.

Watergate was the RNC stealing the DNC's documents. This is the RNC colluding with Russia to steal the DNC's documents.

It's insane.

The "nothing will come of this because LOL GOP" crowd never fails to make me facepalm when more and more things like this HAVE been coming out of the last few stories where people said: "Nothing will come of this."
Sad thing is, they would only be trading up regardless of the outcome and they are terrified to act.

Honestly?

Most Republicans have no actual patriotism to America. They only have loyalty to their party.

He'll get impeached if Republicans start calling their Republican Congress representatives and threaten to vote Democrat at midterms unless the representative impeaches Donald.

Fat chance you'll ever see any Republicans doing this, though. Party before country. No protests for equality, so why would they care about corruption? It's just a term used to insult their opponents, not an actual word with actual meaning.

*edit: So the short answer is no.

Ehh. What got Trump over the hump was Independent voters who voted for Obama twice before, but now switched to Trump for economic reasons. They won't like the whole Russian plant taint. Republicans need them to maintain 2020 and 2024 elections.

So if they raise a stink ( and the will and already are- I know several who are doing so now), Reps will listen. Right now the Republicans are playing it cagey just so it doesn't look like they are immediately throwing Trump under the bus. They're in damage control mode now, waiting to see if they can salvage Trump and/or Pence, or if they are going to have to go with Ryan.

TLDR for everyone who is pessimistic right now: This is politics, Just because they say one thing doesn't mean they'll stick with it. The Party is just biding it's time right now, letting the media do the job.

Lemon is letting him unravel his own argument.

Mmmhmm

I mean a lot of this stuff got dredged up and covered to some degree. The smoke has been there for a long time, and the WaPo in particular has been looking hard at Trump for many, many months. Intelligence work takes time. Reporting takes time. And also her emails...

Absolutely. If something real did happen that's worse than what is already confirmed, its coming out. When people's career's start getting ruined, they will talk.

People would take the hit for any other recent President. Nobody is that loyal to Donald Trump and its not like you are protecting the stability of the Republic by staying silent.

My guess is GOP elites already know some shit and are thinking about the best way out with the least collateral damage.

Man Don Lemon is so good at this, just crushed that lying twit.
