Few things.
Mel Brooks made a lot of inappropriate jokes, but he was also fairly progressive too. Context, quality, and many other things matter. While I haven't seen it, CK is someone who strikes me as being similar in the sense that he isn't going to say something like that for pure shock value, but rather it will have a point.
PDP basically is a 14 year old kid doing shit for kicks and hoping it sticks. Another youtube celebrate that got big by acting annoying and screaming, rather than having well rehearsed material and going through the loops.
That's not to say they don't fuck up either, Chapelle is another that did his homophobic Transgender act and it came under fire and rightfully so. We still had a defense force rush to his aid when it's well documented his material has always been extremely homophobic and saying "context" matter. When really, it's just something that is outdated. The issues are typically more complex than saying, "Well he said it, so why can't I"
