NYT: Trump Campaign Aides Had Repeated Contacts With Russian Intelligence

One of the better side effects of this (aside from all the other good stuff) is that I can't imagine the GOP making any progress with any "major" legislation (not that they were making any progress before this) with their own president embroiled in scandal.
How can this stop them in the Senate and the House?

That would be a shame. I need to see Spicey go supernova, he was already getting pretty worked up today.

"It was an issue of TRUUUST."

Maybe we can see real-life Scanners

What happened with Booker?
Booker talks a good talk, but he had skeletons in his closet. He's basically (and I hate to use this term) A mix of Obama and Hillary, in that he's got the charisma but he's definitely more pro-wall Street then Warren.

He also softballed a bunch of questions during Trump's nomination of someone who I'm blanking on the name of.

Edit: I think it was Shulkin?

I just want to see him go full on Melissa McCarthy style Spicer. Waving his podium and putting Jim Acosta in a cage.

Republicans have quickly established their defense." Flynn was caught on a wiretap of foreign officials and the law doesn't allow US citizens to be revealed in said conversations etc."

What they forget is it was reported the FBI finally got approval for investigations by a FISA Court in October against Trump Campaign officials. Considering the same 3 names have been thrown around for months now you can guarantee Flynn was part of that request

I don't have the article on me (I believe it was the one about the secretly recorded conversations about repealing Obamacare), but it's easier to pass legislation when the president has the benefit of doubt/popular. This is all conjecture on my part though, so it could be bullshit.

Either way, the Dems in the senate can filibuster to their heart's content.

Rachel Maddow made a point that a House seat is up for grabs in Georgia now, a seat where Trump won by a measly small percentage and given the current climate Dems have a good chance of taking(and we need seats!!)

The Dems passed it up. They cited that it is a long-held R seat and likely to stay that way and doesn't deserve funding or attention. Maybe there is more to that statement that Rachel didn't have information on, but its typical behavior of our party sadly.

I just saw that bit. They aim to be the underdog. Just wild shit.

I was confused by this, because literally just last week one of my friends who is a D field operative invited me to come to GA to work on this election.

6) Don't be surprised if an international incident or outright war with Iran happens soon to attempt to distract from the complete and total high treason of the Trump administration.

We have entered the Twilight Zone. The executive branch has been taken over by the Russians and the legislative branch can't find its own ass right now. If it wasn't for a strong and independent judiciary and a patriotic intelligence community American democracy would be dead in the water. The Trump administration from top to bottom are traitors. We were warned about this during the campaign but no one cared because "emails".

Trump and his posse must be removed from power and tried for treason.
How crazy would it be for Putin to prod the U.S. into military action against Iran... only to then start funneling weapons and military resources over to Iran to arm them against the Americans?

He voted against a Pharma bill while being from a state where a massive percentage of his constituents work in the Pharma Industry.
He's a corporate shill basically. He looks and sounds amazing (that DNC speech wew) but his actions raise red flags. There was a big thing a few weeks ago during the confirmation hearings where he totally roasted one of the candidates over racial issues (I believe) then turned around and shot down a bill related to pharmaceutical negotiations because big pharma donates to him.

Booker never met a corporate helicopter ride over the financial district that he didn't like.

Ahh, gotcha... yeah he seemed a little slimy when I saw him talk outside of the DNC

That's one of the few things that never made sense to me. Trump's administration is simultaneously fond of Russia while being really hard on one of their allies (Iran). Every sign points to Trump wanting to start a war with Iran, but it flies in the face of his Russian narrative.

My completely unsubstantiated prediction:

Vlad and his minion decide to tag team Iran, carving it up between them as they see fit. And because Putin gonna Putin, he'll probably fund the anti-US insurgent groups there as well.

With the breakneck pace that this is moving I'm kind of nervous some threads or branches of the bigger picture will inevitably fall through the cracks. Specifically I really hope someone presses more into Comey's actions because that shit is disgraceful in retrospect.

Thank you, and I was obviously referring to the article.

Couldn't resist, my bad

No problem 😁, I really hope something comes of this, I'm getting sick of every leak or report being swept under the rug.

As crazy as that is, I'm waiting til a newspaper or mainstream news channel runs with that headline. I don't know why Twitter is held in high regards considering Pelosi got fooled by a tweet today.
