Now watching CNN and the diversions (investigate to get the leakers!) and damage control by GOP members are mindboggling, lol. Except for Lindsey Graham that is.

No surprise but Michael Moore is giving Trump one day to leave the White House and otherwise wants an impeachment.

There can't be ANY way that Trump will be president the full four years when you have made the intelligence and the press your enemies. CNN is going full nuclear right now.
 
Offtopic but since I have CNN on: This Texas rep just said investigating into Trump's tax returns would be an abuse of power. What. Someone should tell him POTUS is a public figure maybe.

Trump doesn't recognize facts that go against him.
Did we not already reach this conclusion when he argued that he had the largest inauguration crowd ever in the face of visual evidence that proved the contrary?

Even if you know and I know that the information being released is factual and has a basis in reality, Trump does not recognize them and considers them to be fueling conspiracy theories against him if they don't reinforce his flawed beliefs and those of the alt-right media influences that have poisoned his worldview.

If Trump was a normal person, this WOULD make no sense. You're absolutely right about that.
The problem is Trump is INSANE. Hence his argument makes perfect sense. To him, anyway.
He lives in a world where he is the star of the reality show known as the U.S. presidency and he is never ever wrong and, most assuredly, not a puppet.

I remember that there was worry that if US started to help Ukraine it could be seen as offensive by Russians resulting in escalation which could spiral out of hand. I'm disappointed in EU in sense that they aren't really willing to put material into play, no need to send men but throw few tanks in their way?

As Finn I'm not very thrilled about what Putin is doing in Ukraine - Poland - Belarus region and how relatively freely he gets to fuck around. Semi afraid sooner than later he will start fucking with us too.

Even more depressing than this news is all the delusional people that actually think this will get him impeached.

This won't even be investigated by congress.

The key words are "after the annexation". Had he not been frantically looking for rapprochement with Russia & had he not caved against Putin in Syria, then the annexation may never have happened. There's a metric ton of articles and op-eds on it.
During the Obama administration Putin (or his buddy Medvedev) proved numerous times that they are no partners but adversaries.
The rubble crash was due to the oil price crash, they basically correlate:

After the annexation, the reaction came too slow and was too weak which emboldened Putin to venture into parts of Eastern Ukraine. But from there on, Obama had to coordinate with European states. In which some politicians love Putin's oily cock. So from there on, only lacking military assistance could be pinned on Obama.

It's a step in the right direction. We are way past the point of no return. Impeachment is guaranteed. Might not be today, but it will be soon.

So let me get this straight. The President is now fighting with the American intelligence community...over Twitter? Normally, you'd see the pressure start to impact people closer to the bottom first, cause they know they can get sold out easily. But it's going right to the top. If this is true, people below him must be freaking out because he doesn't seem stable

We're so close to getting this but in Twitter form, I swear. The crime isn't what gets people caught, it's the coverup.
 
People who are being defeatists need to look at this like trying to stop a train. It doesn't stop dead when you hit the brakes, it keeps moving becaus of all the weight and momentum behind it. But it does slow. Soemtimes it takes a mile or two, but eventually it will be stopped.

Sending in troops to the border of Russia, isn't that like WWIII?

This also aligns perfectly with climate denial perpetrated by the Trump administration - hamper scientists and renewable energy to strengthen oil prices/increase our need for oil. It's almost too obvious.

If the Democrats had anything more salacious than the catty DNC email leak stuff, we would have had it dumped in our laps by now.

Those were deliberately released during election season by a foreign entity (whether or not they were influenced by the Kremlin) with the express purpose of swaying the election. Even with all of the hype, there was no smoking gun outside of some of the DNC chairs expressing a preference for Hillary.

If members of Obama's administration were involved in downright illegal, undisclosed conflicts of interest with other nations, or giving an open microphone to national security policy and secrets to foreign agents, you're damn right the public would have a right to know.

It's what Putin partly trusts on. Throwing weight of Russia around in hopes that EU / US / NATO are too afraid to intervene because it could escalate things rapidly. Question becomes "How far is too far?" Should we step in when Russia is at France border?

Probably, unless irrefutable hard evidence is released to the press the earliest Trump could be impeached is two years from now if the Democrats take back the House. The GOP won't take him down unless there's no other option.

I feel like despite this Trump will dismiss this as fake news and ignore it, the only way I can see him being investigated and arrested would be if a video leaks of him getting a golden shower from a prostitute whilst Vladamir Putin watches
 
Unfortunately we are not going get hard evidence that trumps administration asked the Russians to influence the election BUT the question begs..... what exactly were his aids telling the Russians that caused them to so aggressively influence the United States election.

That's what the sanctions are for. DT all of a sudden trying to play the waaaaaaay to obvious "See! I'm hard for on Russia" card isn't based on anything but grandstanding and trying to save face without actually thinking through actual actions.

I think neighbouring countries you can't be reckless but not weak either. Russia overstepped but I think if they tried take a whole country, full force from the US, EU, Nato would be shown even if it was bordering on Russia.
 
Crazy times. Seeing elements of the deep state working hand in hand with the media and the political establishment, basically in open warfare against the US presidency. It's like a movie. With a far fetched plot.

I know people are loving it because their interests align and they hate Trump, but stepping outside of that for a moment, the phenomenon on display here is kind of awesome and frightening.

It's moving at such an accelerated pace you'd be forgiven for thinking they're trying to make the US ungovernable. What is the end goal here. Impeachment? All this Russia stuff so far is based on the appearance of impropriety, not actual impropriety, from what I can tell. Maybe they're trying to cow Trump and his admin into submission so they start playing ball fully. Who knows.
