It's not a comedy channel. It's a grown up guy acting like a fool to be funny. You really can't compare his act with actual comedy shows or toons (which aren't a one man show) especially since it is YOUtube that made him famous (notice the YOU?). PDP is certainly not a comedian, he is himself and does everything for views.

What makes you say that pewdiepie is not a comedian? What makes you say that he is himself and not a character on screen? I legit ask you this question because i want to know why you say that.

The issue is PDP thinks he's at the idubbbz/filthyfrank level, when he's not, and his audience is very different. Like, other youtubers could get away with this shit relatively easily, but the fact that he is so popular means he should really be watching what he says or does. I mean. I'm confused by this. I've never really watched him, but I was under the impression his was a comedy channel. Are people really that upset about what is basically a comedian making jokes (regardless of quality) about taboo subjects like anti-Semitism?

I mean, there are dozens of shows on TV with much, much more objectionable content like Always Sunny or South Park that any kid can just turn on, and no one bats an eye.

I don't agree with the dude, and the content didn't look very funny, but this seems overblown. It's just a bad comedian making a bad joke. I think it's pretty obvious that he doesn't actually have anti-Semitic views. Comedy has always chased after taboo subjects, and this seemed very mild compared to much more popular and more widely accepted shows, both on and off YouTube.

There is definitely a world's difference between how South Park and Always Sunny sets up things like this (i.e., there is always a set up to such a joke, and said set up is always done to make said person look like an awful human being deserving of scorn and ridicule) than just "hold up this sign that says something inflammatory and racially charged."

It was a catastrophic lapse of judgment on PDP's part for many reasons, one of them being that he just doesn't have the talent to actually create a context where this could be viewed in the same light as something from South Park.

There's absolutely a sect of the far left that searches for situations where they can perch on the moral high ground, looking down at everyone below, telling them how terrible they are. Solely in an attempt to see if they can be loud enough to ruin someone's life. It's a dangerous group of people that deserve to be discussed and criticized.

I mean, just because they come off as trolls doesn't make them any less dangerous. That's how we got where we are in the US. We watched communities get progressively worse and more bigoted and turned a blind eye. These types of people pray on your insecurities and don't just stay on that site, they go to 4chan, pol, r9k, and many more talk in ways that try to inspire any downtrodden folks to their cause.

Look at GamerGate. That is the most recent thing from insecurities of a group of people, and they infiltrated them and converted and converting quite a lot.
