You sure about that? Curious to see who steps up in every category and how many more games the Kings win this season.

It sucks. Just a bunch of fucking injuries. Ty Lawson has been phenomenal and he got hurt. Collison has been playing super well lately too though. But man. First Gay.. bunch of injuries after that and now Cousins.

Arguably the worst moment in Kings history since they shipped all their playoff players out of town.

Pels' DeMarcus Cousins on private Kings plane back to Sac with his assistant & family, source. Only Kings employee is PR guru Chris Clark

New Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins is expected to return to New Orleans on Tuesday, source said.

So weird seeing "Pels' DeMarcus Cousins"...

Yeah Nets crippling their franchise for a decade+ to create a 2 year window of a way past their prime super team has to be up there as the worst.

I think all the "Boogie is cancer" peeps are forgetting when Malone was the coach and they were winning. Boogie was doing great both on and off the court. Then he got sick for a few weeks, couldn't play, the team struggled, and the dumb as fuck owner fired Malone because he wanted George Karl.

How does that differ from their previous strategy of unintentionally losing all the time?

Just came off a 4 game winning streak, beat the Warriors and Cavs in close games. Legitimate chance of getting into the playoffs for the first time in a long time.

That's not losing all the time, but they have a much better chance at returning to their former shittiness now.

"when they were winning?" they won 29 games that year, bro.

Yeah, I'm talking about the beginning of that season. They were playing better than usual and got off to a good start. Then Boogie got sick and went down for a few weeks, and the team started to struggle. Then they fired Malone for no reason because Vivek wanted George Karl.

After that the season went to shit. Malone was fired in like November.

EDIT: December 15th Malone was fired. They were above .500 when Boogie went down, then were two games under when Malone was fired.

yep, I actually thought they would limp into 8th place this year. Why the fuck not wait till the summer to trade him?

Kings needed to move on from Cousins. He was a constant headache that didn't play team ball or defense. They weren't winning a title with him.

Lack of criticism for the Pelicans is stunning. They've traded every first round pick since they drafted Anthony Davis in 2012 and all they have to show for it is a sweep by the Warriors. This trade leaves them with no depth, and if Jrue Holiday doesn't resign this summer, they're fucked. It won't be surprising if/when New Orleans misses the playoffs this year or next year.

Only the Pelicans could create a scenario where the Kings win in the long run.

And to think at that time I thought it was the peak of dysfunction for this franchise

Man, whenever the Kings win a game, Boogie is so damn happy. He is so damn happy. The "Boogie is cancer" peeps are going to be proven so fucking wrong soon

They were actually on the upswing. Look at their last fucking 15 games. I bet you all but one or two of those losses were decided by 5 or less points.

It's been a goddamn thrill ride watching the Kings this season. They started really bad but they've been playing with so much heart. They were on their way into the playoffs.

Why the fuck not wait? Are they actively opposing success?

And the best choice was to fuck their playoff chances for this year and get the worst return on earth for Cousins?

lol, don't hold your breath dude

did you forget Cousins was getting techs and tossed out of every game, it even got him suspended for a game because the techs added up.

Kings wanted Ingram in the trade for the lakers. Hmmmm

the fuck? they really are dumb

On the one hand, you're not wrong that the Kings were a dead-end franchise with Boogie on their roster, and they were never going anywhere with him.

On the other hand, this trade doesn't seem like they got as much as they should have out of him.

Unless the pick they got for him hits in a major, major way, they basically tossed him away for a song.

Seriously. I have no clue where that cancer label is coming from.

I'm not close enough to the Kings franchise to really have an opinion on whether or not he's a cancer, personality-wise, but it's a label that is frequently tossed around (wrongly) when a player fills a stat sheet while simultaneously having very little positive impact on games for his team.

AHAHAHAHA

holy fucking shit, the hot fucking take

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/couside01.html

He's been averaging 4.9 assists this season. For a big, that's ridiculous. This entire season, every game I watch, half the Kings' possessions the ball goes through him and he facilitates.

Out of your fucking mind

This is a shit deal during a shit time of the year. The kings have been playing well lately. Why not see how the kings perform in the playoffs (if they make it in)? Isn't it worth the experience and seeing who steps up, then trading Cousins over the summer and get.. oh I don't know, not dogshit for him?

Pelicans just got a consensus top 15 NBA player for relative peanuts.

Short of Boogie refusing to play and retiring in the next two weeks, there is no scenario in which the Pelicans lose this trade. As a small market team, you do not pass up the opportunity to trade for elite talent.

how so? the Kings literally got nothing in return

Seriously. I have no clue where that cancer label is coming from.

No, I'm sure Boogie should be happy about having to have so many different head coaches, and the one you were happy with, who got along with the players, getting fired for a coach that criticizes players' lack of fathers and is the ultimate fucking snake. He should be fine with an FO that trades away all available talent, that keeps drafting bigs that won't get any time to play, that has him in trade talks every fucking year. A media that constantly asks about him leaving when he makes it clear that he wants to stay in sacramento

Nope, I'm sure it's not like most other players would be "cancers" in that sort of situation

they got rid of their 7 foot tall whiny baby.

Are you kidding..

You're supposed to DO something with having an all star, top 4 PPG. Cousins has extreme value and they gave away a huge chunk of their potential by not getting anything in return. Who knows when the kings are gunna be in a position to trade like that again?

So instead of waiting for a good deal, they literally throw him away for conceivably no reason.

Horrible
