They must think they have a real shot at Butler

Thanks for your explanation. What's so good about Buddy? I know nothing about him

Supposed to be a high IQ outside shooter. Premier offensive threat.

He isn't. He's just a guy, his shot is okay but he has nothing aside from his outside game and couldn't get minutes or points with the most dominant paint player in the league eating up two guys inside every possession.

He also has a really low ceiling.

More assets in a different conference. Really inexcusable Ainge didn't move on this.

This is the worst trade of all time.

This isn't anywhere near as bad as the Nets trade honestly. That completely crippled a franchise for half a decade. This is a comically awful haul for a Top 10 player who is just entering his prime, but a competent front office could recover from it in the next 5 years. Of course, the Kings right now obviously don't have a competent front office.

Butler is great and all but Cousins is the best center in the league

Go for him first. Especially if he could have been had for so cheap. Cs have the assets to get both really

Sounds like SAC just liked NO more than any other offer out there as ridiculous as it sounds. If you're Ainge there's no point trying to negotiate with a brick wall and miss out on securing Butler if it's possible.

They traded Boogie for bullshit. I would have legit traded Joel Embid and and a first round pick for this dude and tossed in Jalil Okafor in a three team trade.

Trust the process

I'm finding it hard to believe this is the best deal they found for DMC. Like wtf Vlade saw in Heild that no other team can match or up. Vlade probably thought Trump gonna be a good president too.

Just in case anyone is wondering, this trade cannot be "basketball reasons"-ed like the CP3 trade.

That could only happen because the league owned the Hornets at the time. So David Stern was technically the "owner".

You and Vlade can reminisce that time you got each other fired. Both Centers would bolt from those sinking ships as fast as they could possible.

On February 19, 2017 after the 2017 NBA All Star Game, Hield was traded along with Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway & a 2017 first and second round pick to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for DeMarcus Cousins. Upon hearing about being traded to the Sacramento Kings, Hield announced his retirement from the NBA as he refused to play for Vladi Divac who some call the worst GM in NBA history.

From Buddy's wiki page

Amazing. Return of the twin towers of the NBA. Who would've thought it would be New Orleans?

And the Kings as a franchise should just give up. I know they wanted Boogie out in the worst way, but to get absolute garbage back for him in return is too much.

Control what destiny? They need a big and they need a superstar, Cousins would be both. He immediately solves their frontcourt issues.

There is NOBODY they can get either through the draft or leveraging these picks as assets before or during the draft that is as good as Cousins.

They done got played, hard.

Based on this deal, Celtics could have had him (and many other teams) if they wanted him. I know everyone knows Cousins has attitude problems, but based on this deal it seems his rep is a lot worse around the league than most thought. No one got played here.

It's whatever. Not sure I ever wanted Cousins anyway. I prefer the Celtics focus on Butler or George if that ever becomes possible. Cousins is too high risk. Honestly, though, a lot of Celtic fans (the more patient ones I guess) are coming around on holding onto the BKN picks. Draft Fultz or Ball, trade Bradley. Start Fultz or Ball next to IT (should work fine). Brown might take over the starting job over Crowder by next season. Very good mix of vets and cost controlled young talent. Very Spurs like circa 2011. Starting to really prefer this route the most.

Raptor fans tried to warn you... BC is trash.

Oh, we all knew, don't you worry

but like, if colangelo does literally nothing, he can win a championship. Hinkie set that team up so fucking tremendously, it's not even funny. He's doing that pretty well right now

Yeah, the best you could hope for is that someone doesn't pass a physical and the deal falls apart ala Montejunas.

It's impossible to be a worse trade than the Nets Celtics trade.

That legit left the Nets crippled beyond repair until at LEAST 2020 just to be marginally competitive, probably longer to actually turn back into a playoff contender.
