Naw Holidays
The first 100 days of the Switch maybe an indicator if this sinks or swims....
They didn't say all Nintendo fans would say that. Just that only Nintendo fans would. And as a Nintendo fan who dislikes the lack of proper triggers, I would agree.Eh, I'm a fan and lack of analog triggers on the Pro controller is pretty crap. Don't generalize.
It's really weird how some people just don't get it that some people find the lack of activity log, Netflix, YT etc. as deal-breakers. People have their own interests, get over it.
I find the lack of activity log, Netflix and YT as deal-breaker for me. Don't understand why? Too bad.
That's nice, I doubt the Switch will have the same quality of materials as an S7 Edge.
Also, google "s7 edge screen scratches" -- I just did and there are tons of results with many complaints about screen scratches, even in the first 24 hours of ownership. You don't have a scratch until the day that you do, and THAT is the day that you wish you'd spent a few bucks for a screen protector.
Didn't know the Donald was a gamer!?Left Joy Con Total Disaster
Nintendo hates this news
Nintendo doesn't want you to read this
Sad!
Truly mega fail launch from what I read on NeoGAF so far, I believe it's all true without having even to read the previews.
No friends included, how am I going to play that 1-2-3 Switch game. Oh man, only AAA game at launch is Zelda? It reminds me of Tetris for the Game Boy and Sonic for Genesis. Really tough times ahead. The Pro controller is a negative too .. no headphone jack on a similarly priced controller to DS4 or Xbone? It has way more features but what's the point without a headphone jack! Do Nintendo think they are Apple and can justify the price of the controller without a headphone jack!
Don't get me started anymore - I thought I could finally ditch my mobile and iPad for good but this dam thing doesn't have YouTube or a browser? Man! I didn't include any games in my pre-order as I just wanted to surf the net on a console, something I dreadfully wanted to do on my Vita as well. Now I have to get Zelda and game on a game console 24/7 and complete it in 3 days. I will have practically nothing to do after that!
This is just a horrible launch!
No actually it really comes down to the holiday season.
This isn't a presidency.
Look more closely. Most of what's popping out is bezel. The little bit of actual screen is such a small sliver that even a small banner ad might be hard to squeeze in.
Yeah honestly, other people can use them to their hearts content but I hate the look and feel of screen protectors. Tempered glass ones are even worse.Nope. I'm not putting a cheap plastic layer on my phone's screen. My iPhone has gone without it for well over a year now and the screen is pristine. If it did scratch I still wouldn't really care much. I care more about my phone looking and feeling cheap because of some protector covering it, honestly.
Doesn't mean it couldn't change. Idk man, having analog triggers would definitely make the controller more flexible and easier for devs to port games to the console. Every little thing counts.Metroid uses face buttons for firing, though. Even Prime 3 has the fire button on A by default.
That looked so cool, but then it turning on suddenly in the middle of the night and waking me up sucked, lolI was thinking of something along the lines of a notification light:

No VC at launch is ridiculous. There's no justification for it. How much time and how may resources has Nintendo poured into this Parental Controls smartphone app, etc, and yet there's simply no possible way they could have 2 or 3 NES games ready for day one?
There's no justification. I really thought Nintendo would learn from the terrible launch of the Wii U and 3DS. They appear to have learned very little.
I totally get those omissions being disappointments and worth complaining about, but I honestly wonder why they're full-on deal-breakers for you. But it's your money, so whatever.

I doubt Nintendo's allowing people to destroy and/or take apart the Switches they just gave them lol.

Because those are my interests. Simple as that. I love checking out my playtime, I love doing it on WIi U, 3DS, Xbone and Steam. I don't like watching Netflix or YT on my phone (Galaxy S6 Edge), only big screen and I don't have a tablet nor am I willing to take my school laptop with me. So Netflix and YT on Switch would be fantastic. Also, Zelda is the only interesting thing during launch and I already have a Wii U, so no need for a Switch until christmas, hopefulyl YT, Netflix and activity log will be there then.

And yet there is TONS of evidence that you are wrong. MANY people with a vast variety of devices have had scratches. And slight sensitivity problems -- use quality protectors. I've never had any such problems. If you do, then you bought a crappy brand.
But if your luck ever does run out, and you do get scratch(es), you will wish you'd spent a few extra bucks.
Nostalgiagasm. I loved the Wii.I was thinking of something along the lines of a notification light:

To be fair, given the fuckery with the 3DS's awful design scratching the shit out of the 3D screen, I wouldn't be surprised if the Switch dock ends up trashing the screen. No, if it ever, unlikely, gets to the point where the screen becomes so bad as to negatively affect it's use I will buy another - or more likely the case, I will buy an improved one because it will be obsolete.
If my phones don't scratch, things I keep in my pocket bare day in and day out for years, use while I'm walking around, there is nearly zero chance I am going to damage the screen of something that will much more rarely leave the house and when it does is not going to be in a pocket, nor being pulled out of said pocket 300 times a day for a quick look.
I just find it odd that those features were a bigger system seller to you than Zelda. It's not like we suddenly found out that game is on two platforms. Did you actually cancel your pre-order over this?
These Pro Controller price apologists are reminding me of the $599 PS3 shills.
"But it has BLU-RAY! Don't you understand the value of that? It has Cell! It has card readers! It has Wi-Fi! It should cost a thousand dollars! How can anyone say it's too expensive?"
Argue all you want, but accessory prices are high. Yes, there's a lot of tech in there. And yes, they've been creeping higher for years. And yes, Nintendo's not the only guilty party (but they're clearly bumping it up a notch).
None of that changes the fact that $70 is a lot for a controller.
c'mon!
if there was just 2 o 3 nes games day one, you will be complaining anyways
i rather have tame take their time on their emulator, because apparently the wii u one was crap

And get the fuck out of here with that fanboy crap. It isn't strictly negative. From a gameplay implementation viewpoint, analog does provide a much larger range of uses. From a mechanical/hardware point of view, digital is more reliable and responsive. Instead of a deadzone in analog triggers, you only have the actuation pressure for the button. This is only from my experience, but on the numerous DS3, 360, and X1 controllers I've had, the analog triggers were first to deteriorate in functionality. (X1 is still the best controller ever besides the dpad tho)What a load of crap, only a nintendo fan would spin that as a positive.
And I can't think of a single Wii U game I've played that would benefit from analog triggers. Although I didn't play any racing games other than Mario Kart and I don't believe that series ever made use of analog triggers.I've played a lot of Wii U games. I can't think of a single one that would have been made worse by having the triggers be analog.
You've obviously never used a good quality screen protector. "Looking and feeling cheap" is complete BS.
Also, you just went from "wouldn't really care much" about scratches on your screen, to caring about how your phone looks because of a screen protector. Seems like you do care... or you don't care... not sure which.

I did. Didn't get the N64 until about 2000.

Today, we can look forward to Nintendo Switch previews from most if not all major and many other news outlets.
UNBOXINGS
It's just $5 more expensive, and it's not even the most expensive 1st party controller out there. It's not far off in terms of value, unlike the $599 PS3 compared to Wii/360.
Retail on PS4 and Xbox One controllers are 65 dollars.

I'm a Wii U owner. Nintendo has given me very little, if any, incentive to want to upgrade to their new system. What is my incentive? To play Zelda in 900p instead of 720p?
This is supposed to be their new home gaming system. Show me the VC plans, tell me about the upgrade program and how I can transfer or re-purchase all my Wii U VC games at a discount. They have shown nothing. This has turned into a joke.
3DS and Wii U had very thin launch window lineups. Switch is barely above those at this point. Very disappointing.
