If Nier is as good as Platinum's best then the first playthrough is just the "tutorial."
Yeah, you and... Well not a lot of people actually.
If you don't own a Wii U (Which is more common than not even among video game fans), and you want to play Zelda, a Switch is a no-brainer. I belive that's the suggestion Jason is making here.
I still haven't gotten around to getting Nioh or Yakuza 0 yet either.Horizon, Zelda AND Nier is completely ridiculous...
Not even, it's actually more of an old style touch pop up. Doesn't look that similar to material design pop up windows.Yep, that style of UI design isn't really specifically android-esque. That's just what's in-fashion right now.
Forgive me, but I haven't seen it anywhere:
Any word on how the Sleep functionality works?
I know that with Vita and 3DS, I was always able to put the system to sleep and it would hang out just fine without charging for hours or days, then I could just pick up and resume right where I slept.
Does it look like that'll be possible with the Switch?
In regards to Zelda, it's briefly mentioned in the Switch impressions article on the Metro website. It says..
"We will risk a shuriken to the head from Nintendos ninja lawyers by saying that Zelda is everything you will have hoped for, and more, but we wont be able to do a proper preview until tomorrow"
This is going to be something special..
So, the Pro Controller cable is only 4 feet, huh? Seems short to me. I'll use it for a week and decide if I need a longer one or not.
No. It's USB 3 Type CIsn't it just a micro USB cable? Should have plenty of those lying around tbh. Or just splurge on something like this. Ten feet long, great reviews, $6.

Curious if giantbomb will do anything today or tomorrow.
Man, I hope you don't have to select your profile everytime you launch a game. Is there a "Always use this profile" option?
I imagine it'll work the same, I don't think the system is constantly looking for other streetpassers like the 3DS, so if anything, I imagine it'll last significantly longer.
It was confirmed that when the battery gets very low, the system will save all your data and forcibly enter sleep mode; which is very handy!
What I want to know is why do people think the Wii U is getting the E3 2016 demo? Surely they have been able to optimize it more in the past few months? How are all of these people satisfied with getting Zelda on the Wii U, when Nintendo looks to have created one of the most elegant, well made and critically praised pieces of hardware in decades?
Like, I'd be crying into my keyboard as I typed, "yep, good thing I got a Wii U."

No. It's USB 3 Type C
Well, it's a no-brainer if you don't mind spending $400+ to play a Zelda game. I don't know if there will be another Switch game I want to play.
I'm just bummed that their launch-day stream will be short as hell, seeing as they'll run out of games to play in like, 90 minutes tops.

GS says they got just over 3 hours battery life on handheld mode with Zelda, default settings.

I liked this Time article. Probably old in this thread, but new to me:

For some reason, I was able to pre-order the Switch on Amazon, but I didn't bother to pre-order BotW... And it appears the physical copies are sold out everywhere. Guess I'll have to go digital.![]()
Fair. Here's a 10 foot USB-C to USB-A cable for $7.79. Admittedly spending any additional money to use an already horribly overpriced controller isn't ideal, but at least it's not much. Less than the sales tax on the controller where I live lol.
Please stop with the hype!! I can't take it!!
Seems decent to me.GS says they got just over 3 hours battery life on handheld mode with Zelda, default settings. And charges to 50% in about an hour.

I don't know what region you're in, but I won't have to spend that at least in the US.
And if you're willing to spend to get a Wii U and Zelda, you're nearly at Switch + Zelda Prices already.
However, if you literally think that Zelda is the only game you'll ever want to play on the Switch, then of course it would be a bad purchase. I'm not sure who that person is, but if they exist, then I'd say Nintendo consoles probably aren't them.
So for those who turn up brightness and other settings what does that mean, less than 2 hours on full charge?

Not very well researched though.Ahhh... Well written journalism.
In terms of quantity there's totally enough to run a long stream.
Not very well researched though.
I've got a Wii U but I want to play the best possible version of Zelda(well, highest res at least).
Where can you "Post" screenshots? Facebook? Since Miiverse is no more... *shakes fist*
There really isn't.
Most of the games on the list will get played for 10-15 minutes seeing as they are ports of games available elsewhere and they'll likely spend a bit more time on Zelda and 1,2,Switch.
I mean, even the Wii-U had games like Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Darksiders, Mass Effect, Batman, FIFA, NBA, all that kind of stuff. I guess we'll see come March.
He said OLED screen. It is not one tho. But I'm with you it was a great readHow so? I thought it was great.
But like I can play it on my WiiU.
So far it does! Ars Techinica stated in their preview that they put the Switch into "sleep" mode at 100% battery. 8 hours later it had only drained to 98%! If nothing else that beats the pants off of the 3DS.
The only catch is that they didn't confirm whether or not they had a game running when they did that.
Calling the screen an OLED jumps to sight. How so? I thought it was great.

It really is. I'm going Zelda, Nier, then Horizon. Mostly because I know Horizon is long, and from what I've seen in the Nier thread it's a shorter game, like 7 or 8 hours.
Outside of money concerns, I don't get it either. If you're definitely going to get a Switch but you're waiting until Mario comes out or whatever, why not just get it now to play the superior Zelda experience? Why wait if money isn't an issue?
Yeah I get you, for sure. But I think the fact it's so similar to an old android design paradigm is a good indicator that it's not android. Even if it's nearly identical.Sorry, I guess I didn't specifically mean that particular pop-up, but the overall clean and flat UI design.
Maybe I'm wrong about that too though, haha.
Calling the screen an OLED jumps to sight.
Finally, we get to see someone stream Mass Effect and FIFA!There really isn't.
