Most importantly, which player icon will you be using?
Currently split between Yoshi and Tom Nook!
What can we choose from? I'm not up to speed on the details regarding player icons. Do you have a link or graphic you can provide?

I think my phone barely lasts half that. I only use like 30% brightness on my phone normally.:/
That weird yellow and red space marine from way back when. What's his name again?
Jan Theysen said:Myself and some other developers were at Nintendo last year and they presented the Switch to us. They told us you actually can't break the stand. The hinge is magnetic. So before it breaks it just detaches and you can put it back on. I thought that was a super cool design detail.
Does anyone know if the 3.5mm jack functions when the Switch is docked? Like, can you slap it in the dock and use the 3.5mm jack for audio instead of HDMI.
I know... I actually got a power bank for Pokemon Go, and then I got another this Christmas as a gift, so I'll be Switchin' all over the place.
People will tell you "Yes, this is possible," but I haven't seen any confirmation from media outlets today (only from the erroneous French interview from a few weeks ago). I haven't read all of the impressions, so I may have missed it if someone did confirm.

Has anyone commented on how hot (to the touch) the system runs in portable mode and right when it's undocked?
It got a little bit warm at one point, but definitely not what I'd consider to be 'running hot'.
I don't actually have a power bank. I'll probably pick up a nice beefy one at some point.
I just keep a charger at work at the moment.
EDIT:
A GAF member said he used headphones whilst docked at one of the preview events.
It was already confirmed by a few hands-on impressions, and the french interview still confirms it after being corrected.

Seen as how the powerbank that Eurogamer tested has basically the standard specs I'd say yes to both.
Real talk though.
My local best buy sold out of pre orders....
should i wait in the early am to get one?

I know it's probably been said at least once, if not a couple times, but I'm getting a pretty big chuckle out of all these hands on that are praising the cartridge based games for instant-on, no need for patching but then simultaneously mentioning that the console itself is going to require a pretty substantial day one patch to fix the joy-con issue and add basic features to the OS.
All of these previews are just reaffirming that this is an early access product and being an early adopter of the Switch is going to be as bad, maybe worse than, being an early adopter of most any other tech product. Better to sit back and wait for the product (and software) to mature.
Honestly, Zelda: BotW on Wii U isn't going to be so radically different that it will make people "cry" like some of the hyperbolic posts in this topic claim. And since it's a single player game anyway, waiting to play it or going back to play it again on Switch in a year will be no big issue.
Didn't you get the news? There will be no VC at launch. I guess, they wait until E3 and then give us GameCube VC =)Hyperbolic people will be hyperbolic. What better to do than hype your purchase to 7th heaven?
Anyway, do any of the reviews mention VC at all?
But what about a powerbank with USB-A to C? Will that be enough to keep the Switch running?
You do realize that their Wii-U stream was 6.5 hours long, right? They played all twenty-three launch titles. Hence why I am guessing this year's stream won't match that with about a third of the amount of games to play.
Also, is Snipperclips confirmed at launch? That game looks rad.
They tested a power bank? nice

Plus Miis in poses.
Which I will be using because now my mii can have purple hair
I mean, it's fine if you want to feel better about not getting a switch at launch, but this is the strangest "irony" I've heard all day.I know it's probably been said at least once, if not a couple times, but I'm getting a pretty big chuckle out of all these hands on that are praising the cartridge based games for instant-on, no need for patching but then simultaneously mentioning that the console itself is going to require a pretty substantial day one patch to fix the joy-con issue and add basic features to the OS.

There was a reason Lynx and Game Gear failed. Finally, the size comparison I've been waiting for. People who say the switch "is too big to be a handheld" clearly weren't around for the early 90s. And that's the smaller revision of the Lynx, the original was even bigger. The Game Gear is almost as big.
so guys did you see that?

A console has a day one firmware update? WOAH that's never happened before. Ever.

They say they've had the sync issues.
Also, Neon best option confirmed.
Not necessarily. So this is a hardware issue rather than a software one.

Day One firmware updates are normal. XBO wouldn't even work without one. So I don't know what you are trying to say.I know it's probably been said at least once, if not a couple times, but I'm getting a pretty big chuckle out of all these hands on that are praising the cartridge based games for instant-on, no need for patching but then simultaneously mentioning that the console itself is going to require a pretty substantial day one patch to fix the joy-con issue and add basic features to the OS.

Why are you being too defensive? Other consoles doing it don't justify it. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

No I haven't read or watched anything yet. Is this real? Weren't we told by insiders before that we'll have VC support from day 1? Well Emily also said Switch's first year of games will be more than the WiiU's entire lifetime and look how that turned out. Lesson learnt.
