How is that game anyway?

I still find it weird that Square was able to use the CG models from the PSP version as the in-game models for the HD version.

I waited for so long, then lose my interest but when i see discount on Steam i just jumped the game, played for 4 hours so far and i really like it and probably will more like it progressively. Story seems interesting, also characters, lore too and ost sounds damn good so far. I like gameplay too but i wish there was no 30fps lock.

Also glad they did a photo mod because these character models are so damn good!

where do the paths diverge? i'd actually play it a second time if the two paths are pretty different from eachother.

They're very different. I believe it's shortly after
the vampires attack Beauclair, you have to decide whether to go after the vampire elder (the path I took) or go after the sister, which takes you to fairytale land.

That's right.
You're asked whether to get out Syanna from her prison in order to meet Detlaff OR use another method to get in touch with him and visit Orianna for that matter.
You cannot miss this point.

I will play it a second time too because of this.

Are you injecting AA or something?
Even at 4K that game was jaggy city for me so I just said fuck it, refunded it and got it on PS4 instead (for convenience).
I'm assuming you're talking about the Batman - The Telltale Series screenshots directly above your post, since you didn't specify.

The game doesn't have a full-screen mode, only borderless windowed mode, so you need to set your desktop resolution to match whatever you select in the game or else it will be rescaled using nearest neighbor interpolation and look really bad.

Kind of hilarious that you would choose the PS4 version because of that.

Dishonored 2 really is an amazing looking game. If only it ran better.

That explains why the IQ was so poor.

But you'll notice I didn't pick the PS4 version because of that, I was getting similar IQ on the steam ver for the reason you mentioned above so I got it on PS4 for the convenience.

Would it be possible to have a thread summary similar to the Hi-Res art thread? I'd love to see shots of certain games but I don't want to go through every page.

Just an idea. :)

Is it just me or is the LOD utterly disgusting in Ghost Recon: Wildlands?
At times the game looks great and then others it almost looks like a PS3 game.

If you can play at 4k I would strongly recommend to use that resolution for screenshots and NOT the super resolution feature from Nvidia Ansel since it reduces the quality of visuals.

if anyone knows how to enable DoF when going to the debug camera via a console command in UE3 or X-Com 2, please let me know

Great shots. I guess there isn't any depth buffer when using Reshade? You could go the long way and try getting control of the in-game post processing using keybinds and/or CE. Have a look here for what I mean but be warned this can be more frustrating than it's worth. I'd take a look but don't have that game myself, PM me if you need help.

Really? I didn't know about this, now i'm disappointed. There are samples about how much reduces?

Unfortunatley, yes, really. I recognised this since I'm mostly very careful with my screenshots and after taking a screenshot in super resolution and looked at it later on, I realised there was something missing and I don't remember it looking like that in-game. So I took some examples to confirm my suspicion.

The blooming effect is missing in the first comparison with Triss. In the second comparison, in Kaer Morhen, you see visible cascades at the shadows at the bottom, bottom right and at the wooden door and different shadows on left side, at the plants. In the third comparison the light shafts are almost completely missing. You can actually see it with a quick eye, right when you click "snap", before it starts to process the super resolution those effects disappears.

So from now on I just stick at 4k for gameplay, and use the normal screenshot feature of Nvidia Ansel and downsample them from 4k to 1080p. Circumstances where you want to downsample from something higher down to 4k seem very rare on a FullHD monitor. Maybe if you like to print posters from it.

It varies from game to game. I know Ansel disables AO in Witcher 3, for example.

If we look Filben samples AO still in there but not same quality. :S

Thanks for detail information with samples, really helpfull. That's really sad, why this is happening? Is this a bug or what? Game pauses so graphics shouldn't reduce, even otherwise should be more lovely.

At least we have a choice to only use normal screenshot feature of Ansel. Can i ask if Reshade or STLM working with Ansel?

No problem, mate!

Yes, it does since I'm using STLM. As for ReShade it works in general but some features are less present, like DoF, with, again, super resolution. If you just take the normal screenshot option everything appears like it really does in-game and on your screen.

I understand, thanks! I had good dreams with Ansel for Witcher 3... Seriously, what a letdown.

It's not so much reduces the quality as makes a lot of postprocessing effects to appear differently, probably due to the fact that they are linked to the rendering resolution.

Here's my album of purely Ansel super resolution shots from TW3: https://www.flickr.com/photos/62762923@N03/albums/72157675467348403 In many cases it's very usable, you just have to check it against a non-SR shot to make sure that nothing of big value is lost.
