-=-=->S P O I L E R S<-=-=- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Spoiler Thread

The plot and player story in this game both seem incredible. I love the interpretations of classic Zelda tropes and themes in this game and the endless surprises, inventive gameplay, funny npcs, side quests, etc are gonna make for great player stories.

Out of the champions, Urbosa, is my favorite one so far. Although I haven't seen the Goron one much yet. Thunderblight Ganon looked much more challenging than Wind or Water Blight Ganon. Although, Wind Blight seemed a bit more difficult than water blight. While you can go in any order, Van Ruta and the build up to it seemed to be designed as the first beast to pursue.

anybody got a link to the josh stream?

I think it's this.

I think I'm starting to realize the high praise for this game in the previews. Jesus.

Daruk and Urbosa are my favorites, they're the most charismatic and have good voice acting and musical motifs. Urbosa directly referencing Ganondorf is cool. All of the Champion's blessings are badass, I love that you can get their weapons.

Screw Zelda let Link marry a Zora or Gerudo. Hylians are boring

This is sounding shockingly good. I thought it looked good the whole time, but jeez. It seems, barring lack of some iconic enemies, to be hitting all the notes right.

Now just keep doing this throughout the switch's life and you have a hit on your hands Nintendo.

Yeah, SS also has time travel mechanics that are part of the story. This one doesn't, except for the 100 year ago "flashbacks". Also, apparently in this game she spent her time (the 100 year span) attempting to contain Ganon in Hyrule Castle with her powers. So, she couldn't simultaneously be sleeping or whatever. Either she is dead in current time or she is Impa in disguise again.

Um... the time travel in SS was Zelda went back 1,000 years into the past and then spent the entire 1,000 years containing Demise in the Sealed Grounds with her powers. She was simultaneously freezing herself. She waited 1,000 years without aging for Link to stop Demise in the present.

The way to Koholint is REALLY far, so you either need a boat somehow or a ton of stamina items. Though it might be possible to land on one of the rocks near the island, still a lot of stamina.

Lenny's gonna try to use Mipha's blessing to cheese it.

So going into the castle at the start of the game, is there an optimal route/treasure map anyone has come up with?

I wanted to grab some high grade stuff and then go exploring and this seems the best way. In particular I want to surf on a Hylian shield.

There ain't much in the island from what I've seen on 4chan (besides obviously the stranding and getting all your items taken away).

Is there another island? Because the one in the bottom right of the map that people though was Koholint is actually not Koholint but a sort of trials island.

Really? I dont know. I do remember reading some things referencing LA in the data mine pastebin, but maybe thats not it? He'll be going there soon anyway

I guess we'll just have to see how this game plays out instead of endlessly speculating. I wonder if there are different endings, depending on if you go the "normal" route and defeat all of the divine beasts and if you go the "hard" route and rush the castle. Gahhh I just can't wait until Friday.

Any advice for the Zora Divine Beast? I ran out of targets to hit with arrows...
EDIT: Nvm I started again and finished fine

Rip stream

Weird how there's no unpoliced streaming service on the internet. Doesn't Vimeo offer something like this?

To be honest nintendo is being much more generous taking down these streams than other companies, i remember watching gta v pre-release streams on russian streaming sites because any other was dead almost instantly

So is there any confirmation if there are any secret dungeons? I remember a leak (which was probably fake) mentioned a 5th one (not including Hyrule castle).

Dungeons are one of my favorite parts of Zelda games, so it is a little hard not to be disappointed with just four real ones. At least the DLC will come out with a new one.

Anyone have a link to the music from the interior of the elephant-esque dungeon? I skimmed through the OST, couldn't seem to find it; it was a really nice piece.

im 2 hours in, im doing the quests to get the paraglider, is there anything else inside the dungeons beside the mummies ?

Shrines not Dungeons, but there's good loot to get in there and sometimes there are enemies that are pretty much Minibosses.

Christ, Thunderblight Ganon is basically a Dark Souls boss on steroids.

Oh and the bosses do seem to scale in damage based on the amount of Dungeons you've beaten. If only a bit.
