WP: Sessions Met with Russia Twice Last Year, Didn't Disclose During Confirmation

It's kinda f'd up that my hope from this is that Sessions resigns and we get Christie as AG.

Christie is a giant sack of shit, but he's probably the best AG I could see Trump agreeing to, though I did read Trump didn't like the Bridgegate cloud hanging over him.

Christie was offered AG before and turned it down. Trump has apparently offered him a number of random jobs, like Labor Sec, all of which he turned down.

Christie just really wants to get on the sports talk radio circuit, I guess

I called both of my NC senators to ask if they will put country before party, and appoint an independent special prosecutor to investigate Trump ties with Russia. Felt so darn good.

I hope everyone here takes the action to swarm these Republicans (and Dems) to pick sides between potential treason, or siding with Americans in wanting answers. With this Sessions debacle, it is our chance to pit them against that wall.

Ted Cruz on Morning Joe just now:

'This is a whole lot of political theater... out of context... nothing-burger... everyone is getting worked up to beat up the AG and the President... Sessions is a man of integrity and candor... nothing-burger... no there there... no credible allegation... he wasn't thinking about his role as a Senator...'

Real polotical theater happened on Tuesday night when our President exploited Owens' wife and senseless death for his own gains.

Or Christie doesn't want to get tied to this admin

Ted Cruz is Starscream with zero charisma.

And yeah, fuck Ted Cruz.

That just makes him sound like a plastic crate.
XD

General Holder contains Private Folder. Private Folder is full of porn.

Any source he was offered AG? I always got the impression that would be Sessions or Rudy from the beginning.

I feel like Christie would have taken only VP or AG

I hate my senator!! I really hope he gets replaced soon. Just looking at Cruz's face I cringe.

It's a shame he's up for reelection next year instead of 2020. In 4 years time I think demographic changes will give a strong Democratic candidate a decent chance of winning. So unfortunately I think Texas will be stuck with Cruz for a while longer. Cornyn though? He's going to be feeling the heat come 2020 if a strong candidate runs against him.

I need to amend my Transformers character match of the current administration.

Trump - Definitely Megatron

Pence - Soundwave (used to say Shockwave, but whatever)

Bannon - Shockwave

Cruz - Still Starscream

Edit: Glad to see someone else feels this way too :)

Does this mean that Obama is Optimus Prime?

You think that Democrats will be competitive in Texas in 2020? Are the demographics really changing that fast?

Hillary lost by under 10%. Compare that to either of Obama's - it was something like a 6 or 7 point swing blue compared to 2012.

The popular vote lead didn't just come from California. A huge chunk of it came from Texas.

Obama still kicking ass from the surfboard.

I am really glad that we still have the New York Times and Washington Post at times like this. They have really flexed their muscles during all this Trump craziness.

The difference between the presidential vote talley will likely be less than 5 percent in 2020. So yes I think a strong Democratic candidate for Senate will have a chance in 2020.

Does "rescuing himself" mean just not being involved in an investigation into Russian ties w/ the Trump administration, or does it mean resigning as Attorney General?

Not only is this kind of cynicism unhealthy and counter-productive, it's a bizarre statement to make given that Trump's national security adviser was forced to resign over lying about Russian communications just 2-3 weeks ago.
That wasn't because of democrats.

She could have meant as a member of the armed services committee. Adoption thing would have nothing to do with ASC.

Was just going to say this - possibly the older tweet is just a general senator meeting.

Will have to wait and see, though.

Lol oops.

lol

That's why I prefer the argument that you can't just take off your surrogate hat and put on your senator hat for the meeting, and then claim that surrogate Sessions never technically met with them.

It's a clear lie either way, and why would he lie about it under oath if nothing's there?

Same thing with Flynn. Meeting with foriegn ambassadors isn't unusual for people like him either, but what he talked about and lying about it certainly was. Only difference here is we don't know what Sessions talked about with the russians.

That wasn't because of democrats.

Solely because of Democrats? No. But part of raising the heat on an administration in times of scandal is raising a lot of voices in the White House's direction: from the media, from the handful of Republicans willing to break ranks, and from the Democrats.

http://www.rollcall.com/news/politics/joaquin-castro-says-hell-decide-on-senate-in-weeks

Rep. Joaquin Castro said he will make a decision about whether he will challenge Republican Sen. Ted Cruz in the coming weeks.

“I’m going to take probably about seven or eight more weeks and make a decision about the Senate race,” the Texas Democrat told San Antonio station KENS.

Castro could beat Cruz next year.

But Shockwave prefers order and logic, doesn't really fit Bannon.

but still

Highlights how easily Sessions could wiggle out. Ultimately I don't think he resigns unless they catch him in another lie (did they meet at the RNC?). Forcing him to recuse for any upcoming investigations is still a huge thing, and likely the intent of this leak.

That is the point though. That as a committee member you have no reason to meet with them and any meeting would have a different subject.

They've still got him lying to Congress.
