If nothing else, he, Mattis, and McMaster are forming a solid bulwark in the White House against Bannon and Miller.

What scares me the most about this is the thought that we might end up with President Paul Ryan by the end of it.

The Constitution does not lay out what the federal government would do in the case of a president elected through treason, but it does make clear what would happen in the case that there were actual vacancies.

From what I understand the lawful and logical solution to all of this is that Ryan would become acting president until there is a special election since the presidency, vice presidency, and all cabinet positions would be vacated. Once a new president is elected, Ryan leaves and we're back to normal again.

Having said that, I doubt such a thing would happen considering how slow Republicans have been to coming around to taking this Russia/Trump collusion thing seriously. My best prediction from all of this would be that Ryan would take the office and there would be no special election.
