WP: Sessions Met with Russia Twice Last Year, Didn't Disclose During Confirmation

Do you really think they didn't know about it?

It's pretty clear at this point this isn't just rogue Flynn and Sessions talking to the Russians (and Manafort, Page, and Stone). Trump is fully in bed with them.

I mean for guys who love to talk about extreme vetting, they seem to be pretty shitty at it.

Bullshit.

They knew.

Yup. Keep catching them. The more Trump campaign team members get caught in bed with the Kremlin, the harder it is to deny Trump knowing about it.

How many times can it happen until this defense doesn't work? It's already bullshit, but come on...
It's funny because when Manafort stepped down Trump still had him living in his building and helping him pick his cabinet for him.
I'm sure Flynn and Sessions will be given suites in Mar-a-Lago and Donny will brief them every weekend when he visits.

And, best of all, no jail time for anybody! While the Republican circus just keeps marching along.

How many times can it happen before someone points out

- Hey Mr President, you sure do surround yourself with a lot of corrupt, dishonest, and unqualified people

Or

- Hey Congress, you guys have done a piss poor job providing the "checks & balances" to an incompetent executive branch by confirming all of his picks without minimal due diligence

Every day they sit on their hands instead of doing a proper investigation the intelligence community is just going to leak more info. Death by 1000 cuts. If Sessions steps down they can't possibly think that will be the end of it. If Trump's tax returns leak to the press instead of being unearthed through the proper channels we could have a national crisis.

No, I'm pretty goddamn sure they knew 100%. I'm just pointing out something a little funny. I truly believe they are all in on it. Who knows, maybe even Ryan is (god I hope so haha).

Oh he's fucking gone

Yep. I'm convinced this is gonna continue like dominoes. WH will say they "didn't know" for the next one and the next one and the next one until it's Trump himself on the chopping block. Not even 3 fucking months and Trump's administration has to oust multiple people for shady bullshit. Hope his supporters are proud. Anyway, I hope Sessions is prosecuted, not just left to rot and die in obscurity (although I'd be fine with that too)

It makes sense if you consider "talking to Russians" an innocent act rather than an act of high political and national security risk. People keep acting like this talk people are interested in is something like "How's the weather?" when we know that the fact that the people doing the talking had to lie about it under oath means it was a potentially much more serious conversation.

It's like everyone forgot that Russia is largely considered to be an adversary to the US. Of course it's common for campaigns and politicians to talk with ambasidors, but not ambassadors of countries that are adversaries to the United States. There's not usually much to talk about there.

Just look at the list of countries Session's spokesperson uses to try to minimize it. "British, Korean, Japanese, Polish, Indian, Chinese, Canadian, Australian, German and Russian ambassadors". One of those is not like the others, and that's Russia. China is the next closest as far as an adversarial country, but they're the largest trade partner we have. Meanwhile we trade less with russia than we do Chile. Wouldn't heads turn if senators were having private meetings with the Syria, Egypt, or Pakistan ambassidors?

Granted, meeting with a russian ambasador is more unusual than it is a scandal when looked at in a vaccum, but you're talking about a time when they had just started releasing the hacked DNC emails, and an administration that already had to force out the national security advisor for making promises to Russia and covering it up by denying the meeting ever took place.

And now we have Sessions, the guy in charge of Russia investigations, risking perjury in front of congress to cover up his own meeting with the russian ambassador. And yet people are still denying a need for a special prosecutor. It makes me absolutely nuts.

Unfortunately, Devos is probably JUST incompetent, and not an actual corrupt traitor. I don't think we'll be rid of her any time soon.

When do the fucking Republican turncoats in Congress agree to a special prosecutor? We have 3 Congressional investigations, FBI investigations and Justice Dept investigation looking into this, Campaign chair Manafort being compromised and forced to resign, NatSec advisor Flynn compromised and forced to resign, and Attorney General possibly compromised and possibly forced to resign/recuse. All the while the big orange fuck says there is nothing going on, and all the shitbags in Congress buried their heads in each others asses.

When is enough is enough? Fucking Clinton and his bluedress cum got a special prosecutor and not this?

the question of her emails is still not resolved imo

Poor little Donnie can't catch a break.

His "great" speech wasn't even 48 hours ago, but it's already forgotten, lost in the news cycle and seems so long ago.

So, if the White House is surprised once again there's a Russian connection and didn't know about it until they read the news, shouldn't we be concerned that the POTUS has poor judgement of people?

Let's not forget that McConnell tried to cover this up during the election and his wife got a cushy job.

They need to nail everyone involved in this.

They are getting the ice float ready to put Sessions out on.

I mean, none of us believes that this contact was accidental. Same with Flynn. But, until one of these people are indicted and turn on the administration, they'll just keep pretending that all of his closest allies were secretly talking to Russia without his knowledge.

Trump: "I have no idea why all of my cabinet members have been talking to Russia. I didn't know this was going on. Please pay no attention to the man behind the incredibly gaudy gold curtain."

Waiting for when Trump explains how Sessions was just doing his job.
