So, I'm trying to redeem the season pass content but the Confirm button is greyed out on the eshop. Any ideas why or can it not be redeemed yet?

Nevermind, I was being dumb.

Played this game for 10 hours straight last night. I must of died so many times, this game is hard but so beautifully finished down to such small details.

Hey guys, i'm not sure this was already answered, but I have a basic Wii U (8gb) and no HDD. Is it possible to play BotW with all the software installations, the day 1 patch and the mandatory installation?

I'm not in a position where I can buy a external HDD to play this so I don't want to waste money on the game and not being able to play it!

Thank you :)

If I had a pro controller, I'd use that instead of the pad. All the pad has is "tap her to play on the screen" so it's pretty pointless and wastes the battery.
Thanks
Was thinking if they made it as useful as with wind waker and I was missing out

Better to use gamepad or can I just go with the pro controller?

Well the game pad ( joycon and grip) might take some time get used to and isn't the best way to play, everyone I've asked said get the pro controller, but you could try the game pad and see how you like it first.

I am a filthy Wii U player

They sadly scrapped that handy featured because they didn't want the Wii U having features the Switch didn't have.
SMH

I've only died three times so far surprisingly, one of which was from falling off the first Sheikah tower thing like an idiot because I couldn't find the way down.

I've been wrecked a couple times by those blue Bokoblins though. I expect my death count should get a lot higher from.

I feel like after playing about 90 minutes or so of this game, I feel like the OT should have been called "Prepare to Die Edition"

Not meaning that in a bad way, lol this is great so far.

I think the patch is like 3 gigs of I remember correctly so you should be OK. Someone else can probably confirm.

I've spent the last five hours exploring the Great Plateau, and there is some mastery level tutorial-in-disguise game design here. The way it teaches you the rules, physics, and mechanics of the game while giving you almost complete and total freedom in an open playground is just utterly amazing.

Light great plateau related spoilers below:

For example, journeying to each shrine places focus on a different mechanic (placing/finding markers, stealth, climbing, and addressing temperature changes), while getting to the mount hylia shrine also covers gathering, cooking, and hunting. On top of that, the actual shrines themselves teaches you the ways of the the four different stasis relics. It's quite brilliant, and honestly that's just touching the service.

Alright, time to jump back in.

Going in 100% blind into this.

Just answer me this please :

Is there an instrument you can play in the game ?

Also there is no way I can afford a "pro" controller, is the game still fine on the regular switch thing ?

Pretty much bought a Switch for handheld use so that suits me fine.

When you say audio, do you mean the built-in speakers? Or is the headphone jack audio not good?

The speakers are crap but that was expected. The headphone jack is pretty weak as well so you can forget trying to drive any half decent headphones.

so how is the game so far ??

are the dungeons as good as Twilight princess ?

what about the bosses and puzzles ??

don't spoil just say how good they are

can't wait to finish my exams and play this masterpiece

Game is good.
The wiiu frameratr dips can be distracting at times but so far had not affected gameplay.

Edit: finished my second shirine. I thunk just like in albw, you will ha e to learn to think about the new mechanics to solve puzles.

Just started playing. Got it at midnight and sat it up but went to sleep for a couple hours so I could play all day. So far I'm loving it but the frame rate issues are still occurring. It's weird and doesn't even seem to be at the most taxing times or when you would expect. They aren't frequent though so it's not a major issue.

Overall I'm loving the freedom in Zelda and I like the feel of the hardware. It feels much better than the Wii U. I say that as a big Wii I fan.

So I was going to sell my Pro controller as I'm enjoying using the JoyCons and could use the cash. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet.

Is there any particular reason the Pro controller is so good and is worth keeping?

Aha, missed this post from the impressions thread.

IDK, I feel like £60 is more valuable than marginally more comfort while playing.

Also, the stick is directly in the same position it's in on the PS4 controllers which gives me RSI in my thumb joint. I can just avoid that with the JoyCons by using the base of my thumb

One thing to keep in mind is if you plan on playing 2D games it may be worth keeping for the Dpad.

For those who feel empty,
Pay more attention to the surrounding environment : )
There is no `witcher scense` or something you need to be more creative and curious

3 hours into Great Plateau, and I am already lost lmao. I love this game.

Died a few times because I challenge that rock shit lol.

Ah damn - did they get rid of the
fire rod
on the northwest part of the plateau in that plains area?

It was there in the E3 video, and I could've sworn I saw it again in some review footage last week, but it looks like it may have been replaced by fire arrows...

Spent four hours exploring almost all of the Plateau, and it's been fun despite having been spoiled on everything by the E3 footage. I do still wish there were more music though.
