Wasted like 3 hours just messing around in The Great Plateau.
Just barely got Magnesis.

I'm gonna end up wasting so much time...

Game is bloody fantastic. Frame drops at least in dock mode were noticeable however. Hope it's more locked in hand held mode.

Loving the game so far and I'm just starting out. Been playing in handheld mode almost the whole time since the performance is pretty solid there.

Docked mode has so many performance issues it's embarrassing. Really hope they are working on performance improvements. I want to play on a big screen too.

Soon. Sorry about the black dots. My back camera is broken.

I just spent the last 2 hours in the first village.
Minor side quest question
can I get the arrow merchant and chicken guy to become a couple again? I did the side quest for each of the person. Throwing a chicken into the arrow store didn't help. lol

And: where is a beehive near the village for 4th cooking sidequest

I don't think you can do this, or ever need to. You can elevate things, lower things, move them towards you and away from you, and move them side to side.

To rotate them, I guess you can turn link and move your body.

Ahh okay!

Still don't know what the last ingredient for the recipe (old man) is :/

You can give any beehive you found.

Past the plateau area and just had my first major left joycon disconnection at a critical moment, very annoying. I find it desyncs every half an hour or so, usually for no more than a couple of seconds but this time I had a menu pop up asking me to reconnect. Doesn't stop me from loving this game to death however.

I think I went the wrong way after getting the paraglider. One does not simply walk into Hyrule fields indeed.

Also I see people talking about the Old Man recipes, what's that about? He never asked me for anything.

Any tips for OLED users ? Zelda is very ugly on my B6V. Did you get an update of the game ? I can start the game without updating it. Never see as much aliasing for a long time.

Oh look...its 7 AM..I was up all night, all night being since 2 something when i got my switch.....I guess i should go to bed now.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but on the WiiU can I only use the pro controller for this? Or do I need to use the gamepad for stuff?

So handheld mode. You guys feel the stick placement/controls are comfy? I'm curious how hat right stick feels after a while. It's different with regular controllers, having and actual grip below. I'll find it tonight when I get mine... just curious.

Game is blowing my mind so far.

Only negative is the performance (playing in docked mode). One of the first moments stepping out in the open was marred by a shocking framerate drop. It really left a bad first impression.

I wish there was a HUD mode inbetween normal and pro. I don't really need the control scheme indicator, sound or time/weather indicators but would love to keep the mini map at least.

Oh yeah boy, update is installing. Couple of minutes to go!

Thank god I bought the Wii U version before I went to work, cause I reading all the impressions here, I would've totally gone out and bought the Switch during lunch if I hadn't.

So I got the game on Wii U from Argos this morning. The shop assistant who served me was tempting me to get a Switch, they had 7 in stock and the console seems readily available in my area but that's by the by.

Anyway, Zelda.

It's incredible. I have not felt this way playing a game for a long, long time. I can not remember the last time. It's just...stunning in every aspect. I have spent around 2 hours in the starting area so far, I have only just got to the first objective. I have not even scratched the surface but I have already seen so much if you know what I mean. I love how it encourages you to explore, I was off the beaten path right away and I have so far found some useful ingredients and weapons.
I found a cooking pit and spent a little time experimenting with the ingredients I had one hand, the cooking animations and sounds are super charming and the dishes you can create seem pretty varied. I mean, I had around 3 different ingredients yet made 2/3 different dishes based off the combinations I was using.

I love how it just throws you in and lets you get on with it, there is no handholding and it's fantastic. I have died once already and I am always weighing up the best approach to take on a bunch of enemies, looking at my weapons and supplies and thinking have I got enough to get through this battle at this stage.

I am currently taking a small break from the game to do a few jobs and then I'm back to it. It really is incredible, there are not enough superlatives for it.

Finally, the performance on Wii U. I've had two instances of slowdown so far. The game didn't slow down for me leaving the very first environment but it has in busier fields with lots of tall grass and trees, but it's nothing that detracts from the experience I am having. I am expecting a bit more slowdown when combat gets a bit busier - like what I have seen on previews and reviews where it does chug a bit but at this point I do not care.

Is anyone else struggling with the way Nintendo's "cancel" and "accept" buttons are reversed from PlayStation? This is across Switch OS and Zelda. I keep wanting the bottom of the diamond to be accept and my muscle memory is refusing to change. :(

Fuck. Went to be with it downloading, woke up early to play before work and---still five hours left. Damn. I wonder if the network got knocked out last night because of the wind?

Only through menu or use it has snownboarding to break it faster

YOU CAN SNOWBOARD ON YOUR SHIELD???

I'm pretty sure that first open world reveal runs at like 15fps. So bad.

Coming from XBox the button layout totally destroyed me the first hours. Getting used to it though.

Been playing this for 30 minutes now, just exited the starting interior area and I'm already having so much fun with trying shit out. You can do so many little but awesome things, I am not used to this in a Zelda game. Love it!

By the way, how can you switch from targets when fighting multiple Bokoblins?

So far I am OK with how it looks on Wii U. There is aliasing but nothing incredibly distracting things in the distance like shadows and grass has aliasing but grass up close looks good.

Exactly the same here. I wish I could have a different button for sprinting and jumping. It's either X for jump and B for sprinting or vice versa.

Past the Great Plateau, game is just constantly wowing me around every corner. Magical is the word that keeps coming to mind.

And Brutal.
