After hardly enjoying most Zelda games, getting the most out of Majora's Mask which I still had to drop halfway through cause 3DS destroys my hands, I'm glad I can finally say this about a Zelda:

this game is the fucking bees knees boys!

Got my Pro Controller charging and cartridge ready to pop in after I get my system from amazon around 10AM.

Need to pop that screen protector on too.

Just wait till you see real ones.
It's funny, I've seen a bunch of video of them, but even the broken ones in game make my fingers act stupid like it's a horror movie and I'm barely dodging the blasts. I've spent the last couple months playing the series, so I'm just used to rolling every where.

Also, any one know of an easier way to switch shields besides just switching early and dumping it or letting it break? My main issue with the control scheme right now.

Played 3 hours or so and just left the village. Been doing it pretty vanilla going through the objectives. Really appreciative that you already have a bunch of toys at your disposal not even an hour in. Also it's super weird to play a Zelda game this long and still have no money.

I had to call it a night after I ran into a dude who asked me to
join the yiga clan. Having just found out who they were I said no then this dude transforms into some kind of crazy assassin and completely fucks me up

Quick question everyone. I'm playing on my new switch in portable mode. I received my first shield and i have it equipped. When I press the left R buttion, nothing happens with my shield. I'm worried the left R button isn't working. All other buttons my left Joy Con button seem to be responding properly

Edit: You use ZL for the shield, not the other shoulder button on the left, false alarm. Everything is fine here. How are you?

Question before I leave Great Plateau:

anyone have suggestions on whether to upgrade hearts or stamina? I'm terrible at making these choices and hate it when I mess up. :/ I feel like stamina would be smarter but I dunno. Health is nice.

I found some amber and I wonder what it's for, probably crafting. Is there a way to know what certain items you find in this world are meant for? I mean I rather not cook this amber just yet haha.

In the first shrine, when I tried to open the doors, I let the metal object near those... when doors opened, the metal thing went fying to my head, almost died!!! (one heart left)

This game is fantastic!!!

New store opened in my mall to compete with GameStop. I went through them for my pre-order which was a mistake. I go in today and they say they have no idea where the shipment is. Help. I need to play Zelda.

I posted this on the Digital Foundry thread but I haven't received any response, but does anyone here test if changing the Switch output to 720p increases the performance on docked mode? I heard this from a friend.

Depends on your skill level I guess, stamina always comes in handy and while health is also very important I myself wouldn't prioritize it right now as I like more challenge when it comes to the hits I can take, it also means I'll have to use more peppers when in a snowy place :P

Thanks. How do the town areas run on switch? I heard that the wiiu versuin is really bad.

I haven't really had much issues with framerate in towns. The desert areas specifically are the best, since there's no foliage, so the game runs perfectly. However, enter some kind of grassy plain or forest area and it dips. The dips are minor and don't last long, until you get to the location that I talked about in my previous post.

so far stamina has been more usefull plus you can alwqys upgrade your defense with nrw clothes.

Man, this game. Finished three of the four shrines and wanted to get the doublet so I wouldn't have to worry about the cold. Figured I'd activate the last shrine so I could fast travel back to it, then go figure out what I needed to cook to get the doublet. En route to the last shrine I found an alternate way to get doublet just by exploring!

It's a little thing, but man it had me grinning. The sense of adventure and rewarding exploration this game possess is second to none.

Played 4 hours and honestly the reviews aint lying this is one of the new GOATs!

Ocarina of Time tier imo.

Edit: runned straight up to ganon with 4 hearts lmao dead#

Just wanted to see what happens:p

Ok, last night I finished the Plateau and headed straight for the castle. Awkwardly ran/climbed up one of those huge pillars and paraglided into the castle grounds, with three hearts and a stick. After running like hell to dodge Guardians, I walked into a circular room outside of the castle and was immediately faced with
a massive hulking rage monster, also known as a Linel.
It completely destroyed me and crushed my will to explore the castle grounds further, as I was hopelessly outmatched, even against the Lizalfos. Regardless, I pushed forward, and found myself going underground and there I faced
a skeletal, one eyed Heliox giant. Using these incredible swords and bows that I acquired along the way, I brought him down and was rewarded with THE MOTHERFUCKING Hylian Shield! Unbreakable, I feel it will cut the difficulty of exploring in half, as I can now face Guardians and survive.

This game.

This game evokes the feeling of Disney World. It is just utter Nintendo magic, lightning in a bottle, the defining game of Nintendo's entire run.

Thanks and thanks to everyone else who quoted me. Pretty much what I thought so I'll go through with it.

Now to decide whether I want to be crazy and head to the castle just to get owned or just follow the story, heh. EXCITED.

So after literally 30 years. Nintendo got the balls to make a Zelda game like the first two again. I love the Zelda formula introduced in LttP. I've loved every Zelda ever made. I always thought it would be really risky and unnecessary to go completely out of the box or to ditch the tried and true dungeon order narrative. Zelda did get incredibly predictable, yes. But it was the sort of familiarity I loved.

I was wrong. They should have done this earlier.
