I know there was talk in earlier threads about the RGB causing a washed out effect that was fixed when one of the RGB settings was changed, but do I want that setting at Full or Limited RGB?

Man, this game. Finished three of the four shrines and wanted to get the doublet so I wouldn't have to worry about the cold. Figured I'd activate the last shrine so I could fast travel back to it, then go figure out what I needed to cook to get the doublet. En route to the last shrine I found an alternate way to get doublet just by exploring!

It's a little thing, but man it had me grinning. The sense of adventure and rewarding exploration this game possess is second to none.
That was a shock. Went to that place to look about and got a nice warm doublet.

I just played an hour. Man, I'm so overwhelmed with choices of where to go! Better get the glider first I guess but this map is fucking massive. Open world Zelda, the dream.

Waiting for my Amazon order to drop like

So after literally 30 years. Nintendo got the balls to make a Zelda game like the first two again. I love the Zelda formula introduced in LttP. I've loved every Zelda ever made. I always thought it would be really risky and unnecessary to go completely out of the box or to ditch the tried and true dungeon order narrative. Zelda did get incredibly predictable, yes. But it was the sort of familiarity I loved.

I was wrong. They should have done this earlier.
Yep. Question is, how do they keep building on this? What a monumental task for the future game.

Here's to all the kids out there sinking into this game, getting their minds blown, and becoming life long gaming enthusiasts. See you on GAF in 10 years when you want to talk about how no one makes video games like Breath of the Wild anymore and gaming is dead.

Four Swords style multiplayer (w/ BotW physics) -> Majora's Mask like sequel (w/ BotW physics) -> "BotW 2" on Switch or Switch's successor w/ an updated engine

No way they can go back to Ocarina's structure, Link Between Worlds and Breath of the Wild are too well received for them to want to regress, but they can still make smaller, denser games.

People are bitching about performances but i have a bigger issue: the game doesn't even start. It gives me an error everytime i try to boot it.

Tried to start it with and without the update, tried to check file integrity of the update, everything is fine. The console sees the card when i insert it into the slot. But when i start the game, it gives me the same error and i can only return to the menu. I already installed the software update, it took like 3 seconds and went straight to the lockscreen after it was finished. It says version 2.0.0, but i thought it was "too quick". Also the limited edition was sealed, but the card kind of "shakes" if i hold it in my hand and move it.

I only spent 500€ and waited 5 years for this. Any thoughts on what may be causing the issue?

Clocked 15-20 hours in on Switch. Only just did the first story mission after the Great Plateau. Oops. Probably shouldn't have spent all my time visiting all the towers and doing like 20 shrines.

Amazing game and so easy to get distracted.

How much of the game is voiced?
If someone has the Japanese version of the game can you tell whether it has English text as option or not, if you set system language to English or something.

try cook some food instead if you didn't find the cloth

God I hate these rag doll physics. Why do they activate on everything? Why couldn't they just be when link or an enemy actually dies?

Man, the climbing mechanic in this game is one of the coolest and subtle features I've seen in an open world game in soooooo long. Absolutely loving this game.

I am in love with the art of this game. It feels like Nintendo finally made the Zelda game i always wanted. The art, open world, more adult yet still cartoon style. Damn, I was afraid to buy the switch just for Zelda (don't have wiiu) but so far it's worth it 100%

How do you get the "Cold Resistance" clothes in the Plataeu? I'm confused as to what the game wants me to do.

Climb to the highest peak near the shrine :)

I'm a few hours in, Wii U version. Just got to the first stables and on to the first village (first assuming doing it in 'order' anyway).

Absolutely loving it. Even a simple trip to a town offers so many distractions and side stuff to look at and do.

Got a cool bandana from a shrine between the two peaks!

Hate to be a Negative Nancy, but am I the only one super peeved that it appears you cannot turn off subtitles? Or am I being stupid and you can?

I hate same-language subtitles. I find them distracting and wind up reading them rather than watching the action on-screen, so the first thing I do in any game is turn them off. I cannot believe there is no option to turn them off.

Please tell me I'm wrong, and you can... I've spent all of 10 minutes with the Wii U version, as I have to work some more...

There aren't that much voiced dialogue though.

I agree it's dumb that there doesn't seem to be an option, but I'm guessing it's because Nintendo didn't think to even flag all the voiced scenes differently. Since the majority of the game isn't actually voiced.

You need to match settings on your tv and switch. If you've never messed with your tv's full/limited settings then set the Switch to limited.

Damn you Nintendo,
I though it was an underwater shrine it was just its reflection but I couldn't see it because it was hidden, lol

Nothing better than getting knocked down by an enemy and slowly continuing to roll backwards to finally fall down a cliff to your death.

My Wii U version should be sitting at home waiting for me but I'm starting to think I should wait on it and get the switch version whenever I end up getting one down the road. The idea of being able to tak eit on the go is appealing but I can't shake the feeling that the Wii U version is lesser, although it most likely is fine.

so what's everyone favourite way to play this game

joyconpad, pro controller or separate joycons?
I have a pro controller, which feels surprisingly good, a lot better than the wiiU one

but I just love laying on the couch like a bag of potatoes with the separate joycons and no need to keep my hands together. aiming is cool, too, with them.
