Damn, you going places junior.
Drop the junior snobbery, it's beyond pathetic.

Is it too much to ask for proof is someone claims that the scratching and is happening to them? I don't believe it is.
There are some straight 45 degree scratches on that. Calling shenanigans.
Is this Gamefaqs?
So.
After 12 pages of discussions.
Are there any reports of the screen being scratched by the dock besides the one in the OP?
Not just touching, but actually leaving scratches on the screen.
And?Pushing out more pixels with a minute increase in speed.
I did nothing of the sort. Please get your facts straight. He posted something saying retards earlier but I guess he edited it out / another mod deleted it, so I'm pretty sure you're right.
You have to remember that the console just got released today and the people in this thread are cautious about it already.
Definitely something that can be countered, it's just surprising that they wouldn't line the inside face of dock with felt or something soft.People didn't believe the ps4 sticks were breaking either.
Considering that, I'm inclined to believe at least some people can encounter this issue.
There are tight space tolerances on the sides of the Switch (as in, it doesn't have a lot of wiggle-room from side to side), I assume? Then how are those scratches being made by docking it? If it was caused by that rubber bumper, there should be grooved vertical scratches, in a narrow range, not scratches going at different angles and some close to the edge of the screen and others farther away. There's a curved scratch a half-inch away!
it doesn't use Gorilla glass? the Vita and the 3DS didn't also
Can someone else show some pictures of their switch as its docking or even a video if possible to reproduce the scenario?
Who're you talking to? Your post is pointless.
Pebble Time Steel (at least) is using Gorilla Glass and is insanely scratch-prone...it doesn't use Gorilla glass? the Vita and the 3DS didn't also
Ya know, except for one of the highest rated video games of all time

Damn, the Nintendo apologists are out in force today. Jesus guys, criticisms railed against the Switch isn't an attack on it. People don't seem to get this.
lmao. give but you can't take.chillllllll dude
"much else". He'd be done with zelda, I swear reading comprehension on gaf sometimes.
And?
I ordered this screen protector. Hope it's good: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N3ASPNV/?tag=neogaf0e-20
Well, I guess I'm waiting for a system revision from Ninty.
900p sure is more taxing, namely 1.875 times the pixels. Fortunately, GPU docked clock is twice higher than undocked.I guess 900p is more taxing than 720p. I guess you can argue docked clocks should be higher.
Those scratches look like the Switch was put into a Jean pocket with a metal button or with keys. I'm sceptical for two reasons.
- There is a noticeable gap between the screen and dock.
- Plastic isn't hard enough to create deep gouges in glass like this on it's own. It could create scuffs, but not deep vertical gouges.

I know people and I've seen dozens of strangers on the bus using smartphones with cracked screens. I'm sure you do too so maybe ask one of those people? It isn't exactly an uncommon sight.Lmao at people saying they prefer plastic over glass because it doesn't break as easily when dropped. Maybe don't drop your shit? Y'all born slippy or what?
Your explanation makes sense. It's definitely weird. At the same time being a little skeptical of an issue isn't a defense Force. Those scratches are not uniform in direction or location. The 3ds scratching issue happened the same way repeatedly, which is what should be happening here because the console only goes in the dock one way.

Or they pushed more things on screen/upped the IQ additionally in docked mode. Either way, claiming that 'switch drops frames when in docked mode because insufficiently higher clocks' is as ridiculous a claim to make without a profiling tool as they come.Right but I guess in every situation that won't correlate to 2x performance.
Is that what BoTW renders at? Otherwise 1920x900 is 1.875x 1280x720.1600x900 is 0.5625 more pixels than 1280x720.

Guess you're new here. Don't be an ass. They had two in store in Alkmaar. There was one other dude there at opening and he only wanted a carry case.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/d...e-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-face-offLaying out the maths here, docking increases pixel count from 720p to 900p, a 56 per cent in resolution. However, memory bandwidth only rises by 20 per cent, from 1331MHz to 1600MHz. Bandwidth is shared between CPU and GPU, so the higher resolution in the home console mode may be sapping memory bandwidth away from the main processor cores, making us more prone to slowdown when the CPU is under load. Bandwidth concerns may also explain why resolution doesn't scale closer in line with the difference in clock-speeds (307.2MHz or 384MHz undocked, 768MHz docked).
I hate it. The first time in my life that i was not able to apply on without bubbles. I tried every trick in the book and gave up.Has anyone affixed the screen protextor that comes with the official Switch case? Impressions?
