The "my pre order vendor f*cked my Switch release day delivery" thread

Literally as soon as I was on the phone with the nicest lady I got a text notification directly after the call that my Switch has shipped. NY here. Coming tomorrow via Amazon's carrying service. She explained the entire situation to me. It's not Amazon's fault. It's Nintendo's. She said the supplier was delayed in sending the units to Amazon and on top of that, UPS/USPS can't proceed further without the details of the item if the supplier doesn't even provide with specifics.

I know it's just bc I'm annoyed at waiting all day, but this almost makes me want to send it straight back. Freakin Nintendo, man.

Walmart order still says undefined, but my card has already been charged. I have no idea what the fuck they're doing.

Well, I ended up calling Amazon since there has been no update past "delayed due to severe weather or natural disaster" and from what I understood from the CS rep, I am being refunded $20 for shipping and taxes, and a year of Prime. That makes me feel better about this wild ride.

Gotta admire their continued optimism...

20$ AND a year of Prime? Nice! I thought I got a good deal with %20 off.

It would be one thing if Amazon let customers know about the situation and were upfront with about the shipping delays. However, customers shouldn't have to call customer service to find out what's going on with their order status stating the orders would arrive today while also stating they hadn't shipped yet. Something along the lines of an email to buyers would have been appreciated. In addition, customer representatives shouldn't have been telling people in the afternoon that they were all set to get their orders today.

My annoyance with Amazon isn't that my shipment was pushed back. My annoyance is that nobody could give me a clear answer about the situation until tonight and the fact that I was given false information earlier today.

lmao. wuuuuuut

...Then I just got an Email from the same person saying to contact them again if I don't get the game by Monday. So OK, will keep it open, but I'm going to see if I can find it for sale locally tomorrow and pick it up if it's available somewhere. I'm more concerned about not having a case right now.

Why did I get mine Thursday at 9am from Amazon?

So apparently since I pre-ordered my accessory kit 3 days short of the cut off, I'm not getting it until MAY. Yeah, MAY....

My bad for not just adding a pre-order and deciding later. I had no idea these PRE-ORDER issues would happen :/

Prime now delivery failed. Driver knocked once not giving my wife time to answer. Shortly after receive email saying my order is being cancelled

Why did I get mine Thursday at 9am from Amazon?

Because the shipments were delayed from the supplier. Some people got it early since they were shipped from an earlier supply that Nintendo sent....but they didn't send others after that. So everyone else got fucked aka 90% of people who bought one. I know people here like whiteknighting Nintendo but this is 100% their fault and they fucked up. Plain and simple. This is their fault. Not Amazon's, Best Buy, or anyone.

Amazon can't do anything if they aren't given enough copies. Speaking of similar situations, I was curious about the mess regarding the Zelda Master Edition a few weeks ago so I chimed in asking her for clarification on that well. The nice lady explained that whole BS a few weeks ago was due to not receiving the allotted shipment they were promised. Basically, Nintendo promised them 2000 copies...they only sent them 1000. So how is it Amazon's fault that they had to cancel 1000 copies of the ME? They didn't even get them? Just like that, if Amazon can't even get the shipment for the Switches, UPS/USPS who are scheduled to pick them up due to delivery schedules are confused and get screwed as well since they can't do anything either. So this causes inconvenience for not only Amazon, but UPS and USPS as well. So again, Nintendo is at blame here. A big fuckup from them.

Best Buy had similar issues and they all said supplier problems. So it's clear as day the root of the problem is the source of the entire thing. It's whatever and I'm sure people will eventually get their systems/games, but it's just completely a mess of a situation and you should not be harassing the retailers because they are not to blame.

So I got 30 free dollars but it turns out that Nintendo has not given them enough switches!

Nintendo sucks.

Amazon order for Zelda SE is still "shipping soon" for delivery today at 8PM. It's 6:15PM. Currently have a family gathering going on, but will call after and see what the hell's going on.

20$ AND a year of Prime? Nice! I thought I got a good deal with %20 off.

I did not expect that to happen. And then the rep accidentally cancelled my Prime membership and called back to say that I was being refunded for my Switch purchase as well. I really don't know how that happened. I still feel like that might not happen.

That is nuts.
But are you still getting your Switch.....?

I think I'll have to call Amazon and complain. Preordering literally the minute it was available from the site, and they can't get it to me on release day? I don't fucking think so.

What did you say?

Need to steal them GAF gold lines
I got a nerd who knew what switch was and stuff. He said he doesn't like blaming business partners but they also had the same issue with Pokémon.

He said they'll send them out as soon as Ninshitendo sends them but they don't have any.

I have a hard time buying that. Gamestop and Best Buy had them for midnight openings so they got them at latest on Thursday. It makes no sense that Amazon would get theirs so much later.

LOL

It just shipped. Coming tomorrow.

Amazon whiners call right now. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Call call call.

Just as I typed that my order changed to "shipping now" and still due by 8pm but still no tracking number and lady from Outer Jabronia insisted I wasn't getting it tonight

I called Best Buy about my BotW SE and 1, 2, Switch delay and I got $20 refunded for BotW and $10 for 1, 2, Switch.

I'm satisfied.

I'll wait and see. It's already shipped for me with a Monday date. Tomorrow would be pretty cool but eh, whateves. It's just a couple of days....... ;(

mine says tomorrow. has tracking this time, which is hopeful.

just wish amazon would have emailed everyone. would have saved a lot of headaches.

Mine is still stuck for fucking Monday because they decided to hand it off to UPS. So much for that Prime 2 day shipping.

Mine is shipping via Amazon logistics and since it their own carrier service it's guaranteed to come tomorrow. UPS won't come tomorrow due to their schedule so that's why it has to come Monday since that's the earliest day.

Got fucked by Amazon, charged on Thursday, all day today says it's gonna arrive before 8PM, and then around 7PM it changes to Monday.

>>; Wrecked my entire weekend plans. DX

I wish my order would show something besides "Shipping Today" - "Arriving today by 8 pm" :(

It would be pretty cool if it magically started shipping and would arrive tmrw. My Switch is being held hostage at the Haslet, TX warehouse apparently. I'm in central Oklahoma so the distance isn't too terribly far...

I understand that. They usually use Logistics for items I order on weekends. Why they decided to use UPS this time around, I have no clue.

This is ML

FML

I contacted chat and the best offer the guy gave me was have it guaranteed to turn up by the 9th... or offer a full refund... like he was doing me a favour.

Will call tomorrow.

Spent 15 minutes politely discussing my annoyance with Amazon. This is the 7th order to either miss its delivery date, get lost, get delivered to a wrong address, arrive broken/crushed inside a pristine box, and now just flat out never ship in the last 60 days.

They ended up giving me a year of prime and $20.

I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one in this boat with Amazon, but also kinda not because it's fucking stupid this even happened in the first place.

Give it time man. The nice lady I spoke to said it should be shipped by tonight, earliest tomorrow. But you'll get it either tomorrow or Monday. Luckily mine shipped out tonight and is arriving tomorrow but I think you're fine.

So wait, consoles aren't being sent out? What?

There's not enough supply. Either Nintendo didn't manufacture enough product or Amazon oversold preorders. Nobody actually knows as these reps will say just about anything, but this seems to be the most consistent response from people who were actually credited something.
