Shit,
I used all the peppers I had to make one meal. Any place I can get more?

If you eat that pepper meal you can resist the cold long enough to get to the top of that snowy mountain on the plateu. There he will wait and give you the cold restitant shirt as well.

I accidentally got fire on my club and I thought swinging it around would make the fire go away.

Nope. Just set the field I was in ablaze and then I burned to death.

This game lol

Put about 4 - 5 hours into the game on Wii U and I have to say, I think previous reports about the frame rate have been blown way out proportion. It seems very similar to the docked version on Switch. There are even parts in Digital Foundry's Analysis where the Wii U drops frames in exactly the same spots as the Switch version and seems to drop just as many frames as one another.

But with that aside, the game is very good so far. I see myself spending a lot of time on this game. Mass Effect Andromeda may have to wait until I finish this game.

I've been playing it docked for the past few hours and I've only really noticed poor frame rate in the first 15 minutes when you make your way down from the Shrine of Resurrection. After that it hasn't been noticeable.

Its incredible in portable mode however.

Weird, I just had to download a patch for this. Anyone else get it? It's not the day one patch, I got that last night.

Ah, so
he gives to you after you eat the meal or after you complete the last shrine up there?

So, i'm currently at the (1st divine beast spoiler)

Nope. Its up to you. You can treat it like a stealth mission.

How does one even buy the season pass? I don't see the option on the eshop.

Theres an option called extras or something on the Zelda title screen.

I bought it from Best buy and then entered the code on the eShop. I have no idea where those chests are however.

Sneak around and avoid him, he does quite a large loop of the area and you can collect enough without getting 1 shot.

Yeah, the Lynel can either play out as an intense stealth scene if you're not strong enough or as an excellent mini boss if you are. You don't need to beat him though.

Exploring this starting plateau is already starting to feel overwhelming and I feel like I just barely just started the game despite being several hours in.

I don't even want to imagine what I'm in for beyond all this.

EDIT: I enjoyed
using the magnet near the first shrine to place a bunch of the crates, rocks, and the plank slowly and meticulously to get the chests in the muck pit from the far side only to realize after I get there that the ridge behind the platform is close enough that I could have just used the plank on its own on that side lololol

Question re: cooking,
what's the recipe I need to make for the Old Man for the warm warm doublet? Raw Meat, Spicy Pepper and what else?

So in the Yakah-Mata-Shrine
I clearly have to open the last door with a ball but I don't know where the ball is to put him on these rails and can catapult him?

alright, thanks guys

will come back to that dude when i have more than 4 hearts and better weapons... My weapons would break against him , he'd have half his hp left and I had no weapons to fight him

The game systems never gets in the way of my ideas. I feel like there's always a solution to my problems, be it climbing a ridiculous mountain, fighting an overpowered monster, or simply going places. I just need to be creative. I'll admit it took some time to understand it and master the controls, but once it clicked, oh man.

It's pretty incredible.

I finally made the recipe that he said he'd give me a doublet for -- but I already finished the shrines.
Next place I saw him he turned into King Rhoam and told me the story.

..And then fucking disappeared!

Where's my god damn doublet!!

Pretty much the same here except for one other zone but it was quite short. The game is definitely playable to me in docked mode so far. Handheld mode is better though.

Lol something about Link capturing frogs is funny but violent at the same time. Youre like taking this frog and just stuffing it in your pack with 100 other things. Not sure if they die then or when you cook em.

You'll need to buy it with your hard earned cash

I think
you can find it in his house if you didn't get it before he disappears.

For anyone having issues dealing with the cold...

Just light a torch and bring it with you. You won't be able to run, but as long as the torch is lit you won't be effected by the cold.

Yeah the game is stunning on handheld. It looks great on the TV though colors look kinda desaturated in comparison. Maybe my TV calibration isn't that great.

Turned off the mini map. I'm just gonna follow my instincts from now on. I feel like the game is a mixed bag. I'm hoping the game ditches the linear mission objectives after a while, and you have true freedom to progress the game as you want, since right now (i'm still fairly on in the game.
Finished the plateau and heading towards Kakariko village
) I feel like venturing off the main path is somehow breaking the game a little bit. I did a couple difficult shrines off the main path and got some nice gear. Guess I'm just not used to this much freedom.

The controls are really hard to get used, even more so with the Switch button layout and shoulder buttons. Every button seems to do something dramatic, especially in the middle of a fight with a mob, so pressing the wrong button at the wrong time can have disastrous results.

Oh, bombs as a standalone weapon are fucking useless. First time in a Zelda game where I feel like they're a viable means of attack and they do jack shit damage. Tell me there's a damage upgrade.

In my 4 hours so far, literally saw maybe 10 seconds of frame drops in the great plateu. People really like to blow shit out out of proportion VB for no fucking reason lmao.
