also is there any particular timing or rythm needed for the sooth button, or just spam it?
 
I remember early on in the game yesterday, I was hunting a boar in the Grand Plateau, and I failed to headshot it, so it ran from me and ran right into an enemy camp. They started attacking the boar, and when I noticed that I flanked round them and wiped them, before spearing the boar as it made a return run through the camp as it was very confused.

Moments like these make open world games, and Zelda is FILLED with them.

Horses like to eat apples, so try to thorw one near him, and if you hold them the horse also will eat from your hand. Doing this will increase your bond with the horse, maybe by doing this you can get a high end horse without much stamina.

There's a glowing spot where you interact to trigger the memory.

I strongly recommend going after all the memories before beating the game.
 
Oh man, im so glad i went through all that trouble of climbing that mountain, I could just glide across to faron tower.
 
I've only completed the first quest.

Coming off of games like Dark Souls and Red Dead Redemption, yep, Breath of the Wild already feels right at home with experiences like those (as well as Fallout 3 or other open world RPGs) that pretty much beg the player to go off the beaten path and explore the environment.

I couldn't even follow the very first directive without being, like, "screw it, I'm checking out what's to the left instead of what's straight ahead." It's just fun. It's why people like big, open games. And in this one you can climb anything.

I've also already gotten owned by Bokoblins. One of the blue ones killed me in a single hit. That NEVER happens in Zelda games so it's pretty much immediately refreshing. Now I just need to actually attempt to be stealthy.

Also, I'm playing on Wii U and I think BotW looks very nice artistically and I'm impressed by the draw distance.

Looking forward to playing more.
 
Kinda forgot where the guy is to turn in the Korok seeds. I talked to him on the way to Kakariko village from the stables and he said he was going somewhere else. Any ideas on where to look?
 
Tbh monsters have to kill you in one or two hits in this game because you can heal and buff like crazy, I've seen some "This is unfair" but it's not if you go into your menu

Hey guys, can someone tell me what to do about the pinwheels for the Korok seed puzzles? I tried a bit everything, even the Korok leaf, and it doesn't work at all.
 
I'm still on the Great Plateau but am in absolute awe in my first two hours of this game. I know it's not a direct connection, but I'm getting a heavy Portal vibe from the atmosphere that is tickling a spot I didn't know needed to be hit. I think it's the color scheme, the uncertainty of what's going on with the story and the post-apocalyptic detritus contrasting with the gorgeous nature.
 
Can someone tell me if this ore will be good for something other than selling without telling me what that might be? I'm hanging onto all of it since the amber description says it's used for crafting, but I'm low on money.

Not sure if I should keep hoarding all these gems and ore.

Also fun story:

I spent probably an hour trying to stack the metal shit in the first shrine to reach that chest, only to find out how to actually get it lololol
 
Does anyone knows what to do at the circles of rocks? Can't help but feel they're Korok related but I can't figure out the gimmick to activate them, there's a rock missing in the circle but I haven't had a working idea yet.

Nvm, figured it out:
You just have to carry a rock over from somewhere nearby. I got confused because the last location I found the circle of rocks it didn't have any loose rock anywhere nearby, guess I'll have to look better next time.
 
I cannot believe this game was made by the same (or some of the same) people as Skyward Sword. They are such diametrically opposed games. They fixed all my gripes with the series post N64. It's crazy how this finally feels like a worthy successor to Ocarina of Time despite being so very different.

I thought it was all random myself but there's an area I got to where the weather was the same the entire time I was there through a couple day cycles. Very stormy, couldn't climb the walls around there.
 
Going straight to the Hyrule Castle after leaving the plateau is both the most exciting and stupid video game experience I've ever had.

Exciting, in that I have no doubt someone has managed to already finish the game by fighting Calamity Ganon with 3 hearts and a stick.

Stupid, because it is absolutely ridiculous.

I mean, this game.

After about 5 hours I decided I'd make a Hyrule Castle attempt before heading to any of the
Divine Beasts.
I actually got farther than I was expecting to, but still got wrecked once inside.
