I feel like the story in this game in one of the weakest in the series. So many hours with the story going absolutely nowhere.

Because I'm just exploring and haven't touched the main quest since leaving the plateau. It's kind of a side effect of open world design. Even if the story is good, I'll experience it in chunks hours apart because I'm off doing other things most of the time.

This Myahm Agana shrine motion control BS is awful. I can't complete it.

It's a really easy marble maze.
You have to pop the ball off the end of the final stretch.
You can even skip the majority of it by tilting just right as a ball falls in.

Got a bit frustrated with the part where you need to collect 20 shock arrows (trying to be vague as possible here...). I ended up stealthing it rather than tackling it head on... as it were, because I was dying a lot.

Yes, sneaking is the way you're supposed to handle that quest.

Towers and Shrines once you've finished them.

You don't need to finish the shrines. You can fast travel to any shrine where you have opened the door/entered the shrine once.

there's one fucking shrine. The map keeps telling me it's there. BUT FOR THE LIFE OF ME I CAN'T FIND IT.

Also fuck those centaur ganon looking motherfuckers. If it wasn't bad enough that they have a big ass sword, when you get far away they have these bullshit
freeze arrows
and they also have the aim of god damn hawkeye

Can anyone help me

I don't understand the (very early game literally just after Plateau)
Sheikah Sensor
. It seems to just beep st random and there's nothing there?

It beeps more as you move more in the direction of the thing. So like, say it's 100 feet away, it'll beep beep beep as you move in the direction of the thing and beep less as your approach angle gets further from the target. Like, once you are in range of object it doesn't beep more or less as you get physically close, only as your "aim" gets more accurate.

Yeah, if you're a quitter. ;)

Arrows to the face stunlock him and do decent damage if you have a good bow. His attacks aside from the fire are easy to backflip and punish with flurry.

I feel like that's the point.

Did the original Zelda need a deep story? No. It just needed a foundation. The rest of the game was pure gameplay.

This game harkens back to simpler times where the character's actions were the story, basically. It's refreshing.

Dont make sense

I'm finding the story to be pretty good. People either complain about too many cutscenes/too much exposition, or not enough. I think there has been plenty enough storytelling so far.

The story seems fine to me so far. I'm actually interested in what happened 100 years ago. Not interested enough to focus entirely on the main story quests though. Exploration is too much fun.

This game makes me lose sleep lol. The last story mission I did was to talk to Impa. And all I've doing the rest of the way is completing shrines, getting to towers, and looting for better weapons. I'm getting so sidetracked.

And parrying that laser back to that giant guardian until it dies is so satisfying. Like I beat some secret boss lmao.

on wii u, is there a way to display the map on the pad's screen? seems like a waste for it to do nothing when playing on the TV

Has anyone bought the
house
from
Hateno
village?

I'm curious to know if you can furnish stuff inside.

Holy crap I only did one trail with my Wolf Amiibo on TP HD but my Wolf on this has all his Hearts lol

Narrative wise, there's enough detail to understand mostly everything, the characters are pretty charismatic etc. It's honestly closer to Shovel Knight in terms of minimalist nature and I consider that game to have some of the best writing in a game because it's not bogged down in overburdening detail or obnoxious obscurity.

It's pretty simple to understand everything and what is there is rather enjoyable especially with how the story intertwines with the adventure and progression. It pushes the believability a bit with the age ranges but that's compensated with how interactive and lively the NPCs are.

I found one wich was hidden behind a waterfall, it drove me crazy too, lol

Oh fuck me. I swear to god it's going to be that one LMAO, there is one nearby. I'll check in a bit.

also, now that I've finally watched the english VA in a cutscene I can safely say I'm not crazy about it. Not enough to find a way to switch the language though, not worth it even if possible.

*continues waiting on Switch and BotW to be delivered Monday by UPS*

:(

Hope everyone's having a blast! :)
Yeah, this is my case aswell, :[
Even worse, because after is shipped to its destination within the States, I have to wait for international shipping. ;_;

That knight shield I found when I was exploring around the outside of the castle has saved my ass so many times, I will be really sad when this thing breaks.

OK how the hell do i kill these Terminator octopuses rolling around everywhere. i tried bombs, i tried whacking it.. nothing works.

You run until you've got real equipment.

It seems like the edge of the map is devoid of stuff to do. I started to head west from a coastal village and there was a lot of nothing.

I'm hoping that it's just that edge of the map, because it doesn't seem difficult to carve routes through the world that have nothing going on.

I'm really awful at this game. I didn't watch any gameplay before the game came out aside from whatever was in trailers, but I just don't know anything. I didn't know I needed to cook food to create buffs to cold areas, it took me such a long time to figure out how to get to that shrine without dying from the cold.

Now I can't find this dude to get the paraglider, but this one is just me being dumb I'm sure. I go to where all 4 shrines would cross in the middle of the map and I can't find him.

I did one stamina upgrade and can now tame the single colored horses. I found a black one with a white snout. So since he's black and white, I called him Obama. If he ever ditches me in the middle of combat I wonder what dank maymay I can say.

Go to the nearest
landmark/building where the middle of a cross drawn between the shrines would be
, not the exact location. He says something to that effect if you read the quest description.

How did that happen? Did you get all the hearts in TP HD? IGN guide says it is supposed to be the max number of hearts that you beat the Cave of Shadows with at the end in TP HD.

Yeah apparently all you needed was the "record."

By the way I would recommend not using him if you want a semblance of challenge, because he trivializes a ton of enemies.

Wow I had no idea on this. I've stuck with every shrine I've encountered, some for far too long, to make sure I unlocked the travel spot. Not sure knowing this is a good thing now, lol. But thanks for the correction.

If you're really in the area that you should be then
pray at the statue.

What do you mean by " all you needed was the "record" "? i don't understand how you get all the hearts.

You do not need to complete Cave of Shadows to transfer all the hearts, only the portion where it ask to save your hearts into the Wolf Link amiibo.

Running on foot can be tedious with how quickly stamina drains but the game is dense wonderful distractions. It's so easy to just daisy chain from one thing to the next and end up in a completely different place than you intended two hours earlier.

After spending 3 hours at the plateau, I finally jumped down and oh god this is so huge where do I go now? I will probably just be wandering around for a LONG ass time.
