So I've heard a lot of people say the game is much easier than expected, is this true? Or are there difficulty settings and I'm just not aware? Just wondering. Game looks amaze-balls.

I've died multiple times. On regular enemies.

I spent an hour trying to get a stupid horse for a side quest. I'm guessing my stamina isn't high enough yet so I left a pin to come back to it later.

I have no clue when I'm going to hit the first dungeon. I've just been doing other random things.

Tips for the cold... And pics...

so guys I'm trying to find the first picture taken by Zelda, it seems to be around this mountain, but it's freezing cold. I ate something cold resistant but it seemed it was not enough, my hearts would still go down

Also the pic seems to be on a place that's not actually cold...

These Zelda locations don't seem easy

Is it a requirement to do all twelve?
:)

I saw a few of you post about Minor Test of Strength. Any of you find the Major Test of Strength?

Fuuuuuuck that. Guy is insane.

I was enjoying Hateno Bay so much too...

Lol - I just learned a valuable lesson when talking about BotW. Everyone does everything differently.

You're supposed to make the recipe in the Old Man's diary and he will give you the doublet.

Yeah I got the diary but it didn't have all of the ingredients... and I was also just like I'll come back to this... and didn't before leaving the plateau.

If you have a Wii U just get it for that. That's what I did. Wait for version two of Switch to come out and it having plenty of games.

I actually went to the store to buy Horizon. But I saw a few Switch consoles there, which I didn't expect. I really wanted to get one since Zelda is one of my favorite franchises. But yeah, can't ignore the hw issues, so I had to skip it for now. That's the only reason why I skipped.

Don't own a Wii U anymore.

I really hope Nintendo fixes the hw issues just before summer. Because that's when I want to buy a Switch. After the crazy Q1 has ended.

I found the Major Test of Strength and the Moderate test of strength. They're close to each other, was able to do both back to back with four hearts and upgraded Sheika gear

Lots of spoilers in here - and lots of non-spoiler-tagged ones at that :(

Let's all please be considerate of those individuals that have just started the game:)

This is probably one of the most comfy games I've ever played. Turn your lights off, play with a high volume, turn the HUD info off, and just go on and explore.

I've spent quite some time just trying to domesticate a wild blue horse I've found.

Given the quality of the shrines, I could frankly not give a damn if there weren't even dungeons in the game in general. I much prefer the Portal style of puzzle play in the shrines.

I wouldn't mind so much if the shrines weren't so uniform. It just feels like they were being too cheap or crunched for time to actually design them properly. It also sucks that they place some right next to stables. Just clashes with how organic and seamless everything else is. The puzzle quality is great so it isn't a deal breaker just a huge missed opportunity is all

Anyone having any issues where Link will keep walking despite the analog sticks not being depressed? It's happened to me with the Wii U game pad and the pro controller.

Important advice for everyone.

Does the game never explain how to cook items? I was playing for like 3-4 hours, collecting all these ingredients, lighting those cooking spots, etc. Just kept thinking I needed to find an item or unlock some story element to actually cook. Not until I accidentally saw the "hold item" option in the menu, and exited(luckily I was right by a cooking fire) did I finally figure it out.
Youd think this crucial gemeplay element would have been explained or mentioned somewhere. Unless I competently missed it, but dont think I did.

It's easier if you focus on hit and run tactics and put effort into crafting. I managed to prepare a meal that gave me 17 temporary hearts.

Hah, damn! Sounds cool. I'd love to get it but I'm just not sold on the Switch yet, both on price and because of my current available play time. Think I'm gonna hold out until it has 4-5 really strong games before I take the plunge.

Tackled the gamble spot bit by bit today, saving & loading, and gotten enough to head back to Hateno Village and
buy the house lol.

Anyway back to more exploring. I found what I think was a moderate combat level shrine, and then saw another shrine nearby, only to learned that it was a advanced combat level one with a enemy that has like 3k points. Yeah I am not doing that yet lol.

I wish there was more variation in combat shrines. I encountered like 4 now (not counting the advanced one I found, cause I haven't done the fight yet), and they are generally the same fight. Guess maybe that isn't the case for some other possible combat shrines hopefully.

I'm pretty sure the old man does when he's sitting by the pot at his cabin.

The cooking tutorial is on the Great Plateau. The Old Man trades you a warm tunic if you cook his favorite recipe.

The first item you can pick up is also a baked apple from the Old Man's fire.

Old man in the tutorial area does explain it to you at his house, just need to unlock tower first to make him appear.

oh, only even saw him at the very beginning, at the campfire, dont recall his cabin, and seeing him later when he mentions the sailcloth thing after you raise the towers. He mentions cooking at the campfire. But not how to actually do it.

Ok, I searched all of the tutorial area for like 3 hours, before finding the actual tower to raise. Directly after going to the temple of time, I saw the shrine up in the snow mountain early on, and was trying to get there for a long time. Not until like 3-4 hours later did I realize my next objective from the temple, was just right down the hill. I found all the shrines and was trying to figure out how to get into them. Its so easy to get sidetracked in this game.

I felt iffy about the game at first because I had some initial trouble with controlling the new special powers but it's starting to click and the game is just devouring my time.

I'm still at the beginning and I'll probably roughly follow main quest but I keep getting sidetracked all the time.

While it's annoying that shrines all have the same visual design, the variety is pretty good. While there are single-puzzle shrines I just came across one that took roughly half an hour, so if there are 100+ shrines in the game then that's a looooot of content indeed.

Regarding Korok Seeds:

I can't find the guy that provide me more slots, the big maraccas korok. I thought he would be in Forest of Spirits (plaetu) after you meet hem the first time, but nooooo.

Somebody?

I got my blue horse! Yay! It has a Wild temperament and my bond is only at 50, but dang it, I want to ride around on a blue horse.

It's those little victories that count.

Cold resistance from food or hot weapons stacks with the doublet. Also, the place you're looking for is not really on the mountain, it's at the entrance

Struggling with horses. How do I make them go auto? Can I? How do I get them to listen to me? They control like tanks.

When you're a beginner who has low stamina, you can only tame horses that have spots on them, an npc at stable explain that to you.
Also, depending of its personality it will be easy or not to manipulate but don't expect it to turn 90° degree when you want it to turn specialy when it's running.

When it begin to walk, you only need to choose direction with your stick and you don't need to keep pressing the stick. It will move auto in the direction you choosen.
Stay on road if you want semi-auto pilot.

Edit: sorry for my bad english
