I have a question regarding the play time.

Basically the main mission is to fight all 4 titans and then kill the endboss? These are the only main quests? Am I missing something or are there really this few missions?

Master Sword question:
how many hearts does it take to be able to get it? I wonder if I should be focusing on heart containers so I can get it?

I got the blue shirt that shows enemy health, but in one of the e3 demoes, a player uses the sheikah slate to do this. Is there a quest I need to do or something?

I'm scaling a huge mountain and I had to stop because of the rain. Waiting it out, I put my food offerings to a korok thing. The weather clears and the sun comes up. I continued to scale the mountain and reached the top...once I hit the top there was a double rainbow.

;_;

This game

never see a rainbow

I have spent close to $500 (Switch, Pro Controller, Zelda BoTW) and I am so very disappointed by the performance I am getting on my tv. I can't connect my Switch to the internet, so i haven't been able to perform any updates. Without an update, my framerate dips to about 15/20 during every single enemy encounter. Is that normal? It's practically unplayable, and I'm not having fun.

Is there an explanation of the update? Does it fix the docked framerate?

No.

Your inventory increases too later
After playing Nioh, I need 500 spaces. Nioh's Alpha feedback saw the devs get rid of durability so I hope it's something these guys consider. It ruined an amazing bit of emergent gameplay for me today. The game shouldn't encourage you to be conservative with experimentation, imo. If you guys are happy, i'm glad but it's a small blemish on such a great game, for me

Still having a lot of fun with the game. Haven't really done a lot of the main story stuff. Also after coming across what I can only assume is high quality weapons and they last a fair bit longer then the early game stuff. Cost me a lot of food just being able to get past the enemies though. Multiple blue/red
Lizalfos
are not fun.

Wrong, all gems, including diamonds can be used in crafting. Sell carefully.

Every single thing in the game is used in crafting. You also need money for important armor, weapons and gear. Diamonds sell for 500 rupees and you can trade luminous stones to an NPC to get more. Sell away.

I am absolutely stunned that Nintendo made this kind of game.

Skyward Sword is one of the most obnoxious games ever for its constant hand holding and overly scripted structure. Breathe of the Wild is the complete opposite. It really is the most ambitious game from Nintendo, heck, probably of all time.
Most ambitious game of all time? It's the most ambitious Zelda since OOT and I think is far better.

But of all time?

I don't see it yet, but I'm glad so many folks love it so much. Means we will get of this kind of ambition from Nintendo.

Fuck man

I just started thinking if they made a Metroid game like this. Instead of it being a massive land, it could be different planets and lightyears of space to explore.

That would be a cool game

I don't mind the concept of durability, but I wish it lasted longer, and to compensate, weapons pick-ups were less frequent. That way a weapon might last you 10 enemies instead of 3, but finding a new weapon is especially exciting because you aren't getting one from every single enemy.

But whatever, I'm just learning to not be attached to my weapons. There's only one I'm looking for, after all :)

Anyone feel like it rains a little too frequently? It's seriously almost every other ingame day. So many ruined mountain hikes

Not sure how far in you are. I was feeling this in my first 4 or so hours but then you will stumble onto some really nice stuff that lasts longer.

Effing this.

I was way in over my head in the Ruta Dungeon. First branch of the main quest I happened to stumble on, and so I just went ahead and did it. So I only have four hearts, pfft, who needs health

The boss could get me down to 1/4 a heart in a single shot, so I had to play very carefully and deleted basically all of my food resources

The boss fight against the giant elephant was way more fun than the actual proper "Zelda" style dungeon boss

Also lol Link loves them fishy girls

That centaur guy I just skipped by plucking arrows from trees really sneaky. I should go back later and actually kill him.

The amount of charm in this game is incredible. Since I got off the tutorial area I haven't touched the main quest. Been doing my own thing and enjoying it. Everywhere you go you get rewarded with something useful. I love the music playing in different towns and stables. The world feels real, there is so many things packed into the space. I will say my biggest problem is having enough arrows. Overall, this game has lived up to the expectations set during e3.

Okay, I will be optimistic. My shield gave out in the most epic Legolas escape down a huge mountain that I was about to combo into an ambush at the bottom. I ragdolled to oblivion.

Can't stop thinking about this game

Mild random scenario spoiler
Climb a mountain to see two bokoblins on horseback chase down and kill a goat then see me and dash for me. Leave a bomb and they go flying off the side the mountain, then I take one of their horses and the meat from the goat and ride away.

So question about amiibo, semi-spoiler so I'm tagging.
I scanned in Smash Link to get Epona, well I lost her...but then I thought I'll just scan Smash Link again, but I didn't get her to span again. So, how do I find her? Do I have to go look out in the fields because if so, guess I won't be having the iconic horse buddy...this world is so massive I haven't the slightest clue as to where she'd be.

Really dislike the home screen.. No music or dynamic background? Xenoblade X remains the goat of home screens.

Also didnt like the opening where it says "nintendo presents....the legend of zelda.....breath of the wild..." in that shitty small font. It shouldve been like metroid prime ( i think this is how it played out ) where it was the nintendo logo presents then home screen.

Marked on the map. Unless you registered her already then you can go to a stable and exchange your horses out to get her.

What the hell was with
the blood moon crap?!
Just left the plateau and I'm greeted with
a huge thunderstorm and a Zelda telling me something about a blood moon and monsters

Did I do something weird or does everyone experience this???

I really wish I could rebind controls. Why on earth is sprint not the left stick? Instead it's awkwardly opposite of the jump button. Gonna take some time getting used to this. Pretty Unintuitive for seemingly no reason.

I think it's the "everything respawns now have fun" thing. I've gotten it a few times. It's still scary as hell every time.

I think it makes all the monsters respawn? IDK I was in a village and got really freaked out when it happened

Jesus Christ

I tried to walk around to get a better pic and it disappeared immediately. Luckily I got a quick pic of it.

Every few nights a blood moon occurs. When it happens enemies respawn and are tougher on the night of the blood moon. If you do certain activities during a blood moon you get bonuses as well.

Time to go to bed. I finish the intro quest of
Zora.
I didn't expected Nintendo to make me grin like a kid (again)

Goodnight Gaf and if you EVER feel lost, check your journal quests!

I would've agreed with you if decent or good weapons were rare but they're NOT rare at all. If I need weapons of my level-zone, I just go kill some enemies in the wild, that's it, lol

Just got the BotW Zelda amiibo in the mail. Package came in bent and shit, but Zelda herself is fine, so whatever lol. She looks good, and they did a nice job with her hair.

Earlier I went back to the very northeast corner of the world to check out an particular area of interests.

Was able to get to the maze island and got some nice goodies out from it, including a helm for a special set of sort. That was quite a interesting trial.

You can hold multiple ingredients at a time before dropping them into the pot. I recommend using the X button to hold instantly rather than going into the select menu. It's been quite fast for me to use it that way.

First part:
I made myself a meal with peppers, which let me survive the cold. If you can get 5 min total, you can run to the shrine.

Second question:
Click hold in the inventory, then press a on all the ingrediants, then back out of menu. Stand next to pot and it'll say "cook."

Thanks guys -- I know this was a few pages back now but wanted to get a thank you out because this really helped me progress :)

Just finished the first
4 shrines
and also encountered what I assume is a mini world boss -- the
Stone Talus
. (early game spoiler). Man, the dynamics of that fight were so neat, made me feel a bit like
SoTC
.

This game is truly amazing. I really wish Nintendo had done something about the frame drops. I might just end up playing it exclusively in handheld mode.

So I was assuming that the whistle worked from wherever, but I guess not. I sorta skipped over the stable keeper's explanation ;)

Do I need to teleport to the stable every time I want to pull a horse out?
