Are the pictures.... Necessary?

Can I just move on? Will I be missing a lot?

Where's that damn forest...

Pretty sure the pictures make it so that you need less hearts to pull out the Master Sword. If I recall correctly without any pictures, you need 13.

Edit: Hmm, nevermind. Maybe it's just story related

A couple of questions. Is there any way to check game stats? Like how long I have played, paragliding or anything cool like that?

And please tell me eventually do you come across weapons that don't break? I don't need to know what just if they are here

Thanks

Just spent about 30 minutes doing a run there only to get one-shotted by the big guy with the orb when he stands up and find out it doesn't autosave on the island. cool.

also how the fuck are you meant to get an orb into the sea shrine without playing tennis? ...oh, cryo, huh. fuck

Yeah dying caught me out there too.

Are the NPCs set to make rounds in certain regions? So certain ones are set to each region to walk the paths? Just want to make sure when I track them all down for the gallery.

As someone that treasures Links Awakening very much, I was disappointed to find out you seemingly can't steal from the shops.

Weapon question.
Is there any trick to this dude with the shock arrows? The fucking frame rate makes it hard to dodge for flurries and he one shots me otherwise.

I brute forced my way past that guy with perfect dodge and many healing items. I got the impression that they figured you would not engage him and just stealth, do your business and move on.

He's a lot harder than anything else in that region of the map, including the main story stuff. It'll also consume a lot of weaponry to get him down. Probably not worth the trouble in the early game, I felt like I spent a lot more than I earned looting his corpse. Just don't forget your photo before you leave.

Okay, I'm too stupid for this Sheets Venath shrine. Someone give me a hint. It's the shrine where you have to place 5 balls with 25 holes. There's an escalator that raises me up, but I don't see any clues as to where to put the balls.

so I'm in my first dungeon, the big elephant thing
question:
how the hell do I get that second wheel spinning? I can use the time-stop thing to hurl the ball to the indent, but can't keep it there because the time-stop thing takes time to recharge. what am i missing?

Pro tip: register horses

Yeah, I should have done it early but I figured I'd find a stable early on. I just haven't stumbled across one.

The other thing is that I haven't been able to find the tower to map the area, well I did but getting their with my horse has not been possible since there are huge mountain ranges and ravines in the way and trying to take a side path in an attempt to go around was what lead me to my current path up a mountain (and then down the southern side of it to the ocean).

I'm not even mad, it's just a crazy experience just going without knowing where you are going. I've been on a side of the world that few people might ever go, literally, there aren't really paths around there and there wasn't even much there beside enemies and wildlife.

what should I sell and what should I keep for crafting?

How do you manage your arrows, I keep running out

on what to sell: I feel early on, which is likely where I'm at, I am selling all of the ores I'm getting. I have no other use for them. I'm only keeping the flint and the rock salt because they don't sell for anything and the latter is good for cooking. Also if you have a bunch of ingredients, just make a bunch of food and sell it for decent cash too. With all of the crystals/special rocks I'm getting plus selling meals I don't need to worry about running out of money. I'm marking spots with lots of ores on my map.

After buying everything I wanted in the first two towns including
my own house fully finished
here comes the answer to your second question:

Stores sell arrows. Every major town I've been to has an arrow shop. When I wasn't buying arrows I was always running low. Now I just went through a shopping spree and have like 60 regular arrows. I'm also conservative with my use of arrows. I prefer to get close and personal unless it's a heavy hitter that has an arrow/head weakness.

I'm going crazy here. Is there a trick to the second putt putt shrine puzzle? The sphere has too much momentum when it reaches the platform.

The dungeon map lets you move the trunk.

Its a shame we will never get the original Wii U version, there is so much stuff that clearly would have made use of the game pad, that got changed to make the game the same for both it and the Switch.

Did you collect the map already?

If so, you have control over the Divine Beast's trunk, which sprays water.

I'm not sure but
the first time I went into the shop in the dye town it was late at night. The shopkeep didn't see me come in and was off by himself. I didn't try to take anything but when I talked to him he said he "hoped everything was where he left it." Dunno if that's completely a scripted thing or what, but it might be possible to steal.

There's a stable south of Kakariko village, with a shrine nearby for easy access

If you've already been to the
island
how did you feel? Pretty much my favorite part of the game so far. I've been playing this game for hours on end and have so many memories and "HOLY SHIT" moments

Go to your map, you can adjust the elephant trunk to spray water in different areas.

Gonna straight up post spoilers? Why would you mention any dungeon details without a tag?

I found it to be too easy. At least where I was at, there was a shield and powerful weapons along the shore line. You should've been left with just tree branches and whatever poles and clubs and arms the enemies gave you. Getting the things where they had to be wasn't too difficult if you really try

Nah scripted he said the same to me and was the same during the day.

Man I been playing for 30 hours and just now seeing the castle at a decent spot.. I aint get close but I was there mirin that jawn.

Not sure how yall beating the game and shit i feel like I will never beat it just too much shit to get, buy, sell, talk, run, walk, find, DO.

20+ hours later, I *JUST* realized that to make elixers, I need to add at least one critter (like frogs or lizards) AND some monster parts. I kept wondering why my creations became dubious food. Ugh. I should read descriptions more often.

To make some quick bucks, I've been collecting mushrooms and apples and making 5 item recipes to sell them at the food store woman in the first village. About 50-60 rupees per dish. You can quickly get a few hundred rupees if needed.

"You mustn't step on the flowers! They're living things too!!"

>_>

EDIT: OH MY GOD LOL

You pissed her off didnt you lol

Haha it was really hard for me at 4 hearts and I didn't find anything powerful to use ={

Also,
for the last orb I kept trying to figure out how to get it off the giant and my first inclination was to sneak onto his belly but I didn't think it would work so I tried to kill him several ways and I was just to ill equipped. Finally I just said "fuck it" and glided down gently on his belly stole the orb and ran away.
i think that was moment the game clicked for me and I was like "yup, I haven't had this feeling in video games in a while"

Man, this game is already a masterpiece for me. I'm still only around 5 hours in, but the sense of adventure and possibility is just incredible. Only a few games have ever given me a similar feeling.

Weapon durability has been somewhat frustrating and the controls took a while to get used to, but those are pretty much the only negatives I've experienced.

I really wanted to finish Nioh and Horizon, both of which are great games, but I think Zelda is going to be taking up most of my time for the foreseeable future, especially since the Switch makes it so convenient to play just about anywhere for small chunks of time.

So, is there a list of what items count as what color category for clothes dyeing yet? Really want to go for that Crimson Red dye.

Holy crap I didnt know different head armors gave Link different hairstyles.

I just bought the
ninja scarf
and hes got a dope manbun.

There's another shrine near by. They both compliment what the order is supposed to be. When you first go in, do NOT touch the puzzle. Go up the platform, take a picture (or screenshot) and reference the pattern to the other shrine. Visa versa.

Hope that makes sense.

I also had four hearts, I guess I just got lucky! To get the final orb, I made sure to never try to wake him up so I ended up just straight up doing what you ended up doing
