Will this eliminate slipping in the rain? Thank you jesus

Nope

I'm probably 5 or 6 hours into the game and haven't done too much besides explore and do a few shrines. In most open world games I get frustrated by having TOO much stuff to do but not this game. I'm just going wherever I end up going. I start heading towards a spot I pinned with the scope and get distracted by something and get off track. Yet I'm okay with that happening again and again because this game is so damn good. I wish I wasn't at work right now so I could play.

that't exactly what I feel too.

I just got to
Eventide island
by
building a series of ice blocks from the shore

This game is great

How are you supposed to get there?

So question about amiibo, semi-spoiler so I'm tagging.
I scanned in Smash Link to get Epona, well I lost her...but then I thought I'll just scan Smash Link again, but I didn't get her to span again. So, how do I find her? Do I have to go look out in the fields because if so, guess I won't be having the iconic horse buddy...this world is so massive I haven't the slightest clue as to where she'd be.

Wait...I scanned my Smash Link and didn't get anything like that. Just some ingredients and a chest with arrows in it.

I got hosed.

There's a shrine on a small island about halfway between that location and the shore. There is a raft and a Korok Leaf on that island, which you can use to sail out to where you're talking about.

I mostly play pc games on an xbone controller so after ten hours or so, I'm still hitting the wrong buttons whenever there is a button prompt. And for some reason I never remember jump is X. I am slowly getting used to it though.

WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS? I feel like half the game (at least the way I play) is climbing mountains, to paraglide to other mountains.

I was doing this too (I do this with all open world games) but I soon realized it's a lot quicker to just stick to a road that is sort of heading in the right direction

Fuck the raft. Once you get good at chaining ice bocks and paragliding from block to block, it's way faster than the raft

I'm sorry but at max speed chaining ice blocks I don't even come close to a raft'S max speed. The trick is to not spam X when using the lift. In my experience the way to achieve max speed is to press X, wait a little, and press X again. You know you're doing it right when you do the same attack over and over (a horizontal swipe from right to center)

Today's play session was the longest I've ever played a video game in one setting. 11 hours. When I'm hooked on other games, I say I got "addicted". But I can't describe this game that way: I honestly have never experienced full immersion before this game.

It might be weird to say this, but this does no longer feel Link's adventure. It's my adventure too. When the time arrived to leave the plateau, I genuinely felt sad
to say goodbye to the old man, who was starting to feel like a parental figure
, and to say goodbye to the plateau, which started to feel like home. Of course I could always come back to it, but by that time things won't be the same again: I'll be an older, tougher and more seasoned adventurer; someone no longer overwhelmed by bokoblins with shitty aim and gear.

Relative to the world outside the plateau, the plateau itself was cosy and coddling. Real life starts once you jump off that cliff. It felt lonely and scary out there with no guide and enemies from the hefty moblins to the deadly guardians swarming around. And the sight of the gooey stuff all over the walls of the coliseum and
the Blood Moon
... I wanted to get out of there and reach a village as soon as possible. Despite so, I managed to make a friend:

It was so hard taming her. But then again, I was a bad owner and rider. I drove her near edges and inside moblin camps. One time an electric keese electrocuted her to death, and I had to kill myself too. But I kept feeding her apples until she kind of acknowledged me. Now we're besties, and I named her Kaiser.

I can no longer live without Kaiser. I had to quickly find a stable and register her. But there weren't any stable in sight. I picked a random direction, South, and headed there hoping I'll come across one eventually.

I met a new enemy, Lizalfos, and it was hate at first sight. Luckily, there was a storm going on, and I made use of the lighting to take them out.

We met many more enemies along the way, and some friendly faces. By the time I reached a stable, I was exhausted of the haphazard journey. Sitting by the campfire, I listened to the fire crackle. By now, the outside world was no longer scary.

I lost control over my life in the game. I just bought the
house in Hateno for 3000 bucks and 1000 for all interior/outerior upgrades that are available. I still looks empty. Are there more updates for the house later? Oh and I lost all my good weapons for collecting the 30 wood bundles. I just noticed after I paid everything that I can also bomb trees. Duh.

Is there some sort of recommended direction to go after
you get the quest to get all 12 memories, and free the divine beasts
? The places I've been have enemies that I barely deal any damage to and who one-shot me, so I expect there must be some easier path to start with.

I went east/north and it was perfectly doable. You also find the first
memory on way. It was also the one the painter from the first village has hinted at.

I've not even gotten to Kakariko Village yet.

There are so many distractions. The game is beautiful. First time in a long while an open world has engrossed me so much. there's a huge attention to detail and exploration. It's frankly incredible.

How do you get down from the first tower in the beginning of the game? There's no way down without jumping to your death.

Okay maybe I just suck with the raft then lol

I have to imagine hat people claiming this world is barren are just walking/riding/flying past the landscape and assuming nothing is there. Nearly every time I've thought "what's up there?" I've found something. Either a chest or a Korok puzzle or a mini boss or an NPC or a shrine. I'm astounded by how much is crammed into the world. There is something EVERYWHERE.

It's pretty amazing. I think a lot of people would've been happy with just coming across villages, stables, landmarks, etc. But they just went above and beyond. Anything that looks remotely interesting seems likely to have something there for you.

Something really annoying me in my game.

It just won't stop raining.

I can't climb or explore anywhere at all. I'm on my 7th day in a row of it and I'm in some mountain range and don't want to head back.

WTF

Which region are you in?
There is a region where it is always raining until you progress the main quest.

there is an area where it's raining every time until a certain point in the story

Mt Lanayru spoilers:

So, i defeated the dragon and gogt the scale, and my wii u amepad died like 10 secs after i saved. What does the scale do?

Reached a tower that was surrounded by water with nasties floating in it. It was during a thunderstorm so I threw my rusty sword in the water, a minute later lightning hit the water, electrocuting and killing everyone in it. Now all I had to do is wait till the storm passed so I could calmly swim to the tower.

This game..

Even more annoying is the wind blowing against me and I can't bomb-spam enemies

I really need help with the Zora
Dungeon.

Have had no progress there in close to 2 hours of searching. I have activated 2 terminals there. The crank and the water wheel. Have not figure out any more. Tried to stasis the rock on the big wheel with no success.
Any help would be appreciated.

Turn the pins into a stamp on the map screen.

There seems to be no limit to stamps which is helpful.

How are you running out of pins? I mean, if you scout for Shrines and then just ignore them, what's the point? If you're not ignoring them, once you get within sight of a shrine it registers on the map and you don't need the pin anymore.

Even if you don't want to tackle every shrine or get stuck at the puzzles, it's best to register your slate at every nearby shrine as soon as possible just to make them available as quick travel points.

I've been pinning them instead of registering it on my map because I've been spending about half of the time running around exploring and the other half doing shrines and I didn't want to get confused about which shrines I have already completed...

hmm I just looked a little closer at the map and I see now that the shrines that are registered, but aren't completed are a light yellow color. Oops! lol

On a random unrelated question what do the octoroks that pop out of the ground with
treasure chests and start running
give you when you kill them? The first time it happened I nearly had a heart attack!
