Extremely minor "2nd" Village Spoiler.

Where exactly is
Nebb located in Heteno Village?
I've been everywhere day and night and I just can't seem to find him to kick off his
Weapon connoisseur
side quest.

Hey,

first the game is amazing, I'm having a blast. Right now I'm climbing all the towers in the world. While doing it, I completed a shrine in central Hyrule and got a
huge strenght 50 sword
. I suppose it is intended for the endgame, since it is much stronger than any other weapon I have encountered. My question is, are there even stronger
weapons
or should I save it for the dungeons or even the castle?

Main quest wise I'm right after
Kakariko
. While exploring the world I accidentally already visited
Zora's Domain
and was blown away.

Game is 99.99/100 for me.

-.01 because of the annoying Trial Shrines sensor sounds.

If someone can tell me how to mute that shit, this game will be back to a perfect 100 for me.

Man, its somewhat annoying they seem to have taken the completion percentage out of the game.
I like to keep an eye on things like that just so I know how far I roughly am as I dont like to rush. :(

Hmm, or maybe they havent, looking at some google images...

You can turn off shrine sensors. I got rid of them. Go to your shiekah slate map and press Y I think

Go to shiekah slate screen and there's a button for it, it tells you when you get the sensor lol

You can't mute it the sensor but you can disable it entirely. Press Y on the map screen.

I decided to ignore the Gerudo and Goron Divine Beasts, went straight to the final boss for the heck of it.

Is there any other requirement for a more "true" ending aside from recover all of Link's memories?

I swear the reason the sensor is so annoying is as a punishment to get the player not use it. The game is designed around sight lines anyway so it makes me wonder why that particular features exists for shrines.

Lol so after I left the plateau, I was running around Central Hyrule and stumbled upon this small pillar of land sticking out of some water, guarded by moblins...

I paraglided my way past most of them, got my strongest bow with some bomb arrows, killed the guard standing on the pillar...

And got myself
a Great Flamesword.
This thing seems... over-leveled for me at the moment haha

I'm using cryonis to get rid of the ice blocks but I can't do any damage with it? Or is there another one I use to do damage?

There's another one. Think of a way you could make them go back.

Oddly enough I don't see many impressions on this thread. Most of you are just talking about what to do in the game instead of telling us your views on it.

I haven't posted any general impressions because most people have said what I have to say, but I'll reiterate:

- The overworld is densely filled with stuff to do. There's no feeling of barrenness or lack of direction. It's perfect for playing in small or large sessions.

- Collectibles seem to be entirely justified this time around. I haven't gotten anything that seems entirely superfluous during my play yet. Even rupees are desirable, especially for some big money sinks I just found that will help me prepare for the endgame.

- The art style is expressive and beautiful. Performance issues are a bummer, but there are still some pretty things to see. One of my favorite areas was a simple hill with lanterns and lots of grass and wildflowers.

- Shrines are a nice way to break up exploration and give a good sense of progression, ditto with towers.

- Dungeons are short this time around, maybe 45 minutes to an hour long for both of the ones I've done so far. But dungeons are definitely not the focus here; I'm afraid Twilight Princess still holds the most intricate 3D Zelda dungeons.

- Voice acting can be pretty terrible at times, but also pretty good at others. I'd like to see Nintendo hire a better voice director next time. There are too many good performances in Western animation that would have been welcome here.

- The music has some nice callbacks, even to old NES dungeon tracks in one mid-game area. Pretty cool.

I'd like to point out that this thread is constantly moving, day in and and day out, at all hours of the day, its incredible and im shocked we havent gotten to a 2nd OT yet
Haha that has been me too since the launch, I've gone to bed between 2 and 3 in the morning every night, it's like I'm a teenager again ;P

haha yea, its worse for me since im on vacation and have been staying up til like 6 in the morning

Am I right in thinking Guardians can't be killed before leaving the Great Plateau? I could pelt away at the broken down ones scattered around but never seemed to do any damage. I'd go through 30+ arrows and their health bars wouldn't tick down after a certain point.

Also, I just remembered about the Cryonis power. I left Lake Hylia last night thinking I'd return with a leaf and snag a raft to explore further. I could've just been making blocks in the water. Guess I'll be heading back there tonight.

Ok, now it's my turn for a question finally. Anyone have any idea what the purpose of the Coliseum Ruins is?
I beat the Lynel and all the other bad guys inside but there doesn't seem to be any real treasure apart from what they drop. Can't seem to find a way to remove the malice there either.

Use their lasers against them 😏

I need help to access the shrine at Calora Sea. (That's the German name. No idea if it's the same in English)
It seems the shrine is inside some kind of wooden thing? I tried placing something metal on the top but the lightning won't hit

Hey anyone can help for ( area spoilers) L

oods

Im at the point where there are 2 fires and a torch nearby and I dont see the way to go... I tried lighting the grass on fire and using the paraglider to check the area but I see nothing to show where to go... anyone can give me a hint?

On the Great Plateau? Every shield I used broke immediately when parrying the lasers.

I have no idea where this is or what the solution to the puzzle might be, but have you tried using a torch or fire weapon on the wood? If it requires a lightning strike, maybe try standing over it while using metal equipment. I don't know if lightning will seek out discarded metal equipment. You may be required to hold it.

there is a reason they gave you a torch and it's not to light grass on fire

I honestly don't think the game expects you to find everything in it. Not every chest is going to be opened, most of the 900+ Korok seeds are not going to be found, and you're an incredible champ if you find all of the 100+ shrines.

The main quests in the game are pretty obvious: recover the memories and take down the divine beasts, then fight ganon. You don't really need percentage to mete out your progress with those.

Just beat a Lynel for the first time. Holy shit that was intense

yeah I did that last night. that was really the first time I had to get serious about eating cooked meals. I really like how the game doesn't have a lot of tutorials but will naturally teach you things as you progress. it's an exceptionally well designed game which is kind of mind blowing for a game this size.

I really love how everyone in this thread basically has their own story to tell. BOTW seems to be a really great "water cooler game", as Yahtzee put it in some of his Zero Punctuation reviews.

Fighting the
ancient beast medoh
in the sky is exhilarating and great and something you dont see in zelda games

It feels like playing a fantasy novel. Everything you do becomes a story.

I'm also wondering this. I did the same and reloaded my save out of anger after using all of my stuff. There's a chest at the top but I remember its contents being worthless compared to the cost of getting there. But you could also just glide to the top.

It really is shaping up to be like Nintendo suggested in the fact that you and your friends can play the game and have completely different experiences. So much potential to just take a different path than others and discover things that few others may have stumbled upon.

How long does rain last? I got caught halfway up a series of cliffs I'm scaling and I don't want to give up on it so I'm crouching here in a cave for like ten minutes because I can't make it up the next face
