Zora's Domain Story Spoilers (con't)

Aw man all the scenes with
Mipha were so sad :( Talk about tragic love. I really enjoyed the scene with her and Link atop Ruta. I think it was the first time I saw Link with a legit wound on his body? Ever since the trailer I thought Mipha looked cool so its a shame we couldnt spend more time together in the game.

I'm guessing this is how it will go down with the other champions. Link remembering his old comrades and allowing their spirits to rest in peace.

But man this girl really loved Link ;_;

I was crushed
when the King handed me her spear and said "She really loved you, you know". Even though I saved ZD I still couldnt forget the failure years back. I'm glad that I can repair the spear when it gets damaged. Otherwise I wouldnt use it at all. I'm gonna keep this forever!

There were some funny moments in the region as well. I didnt think Link was
in a love triangle between two Zoras lol.

So, after activating a bunch of towers and mapping out a good portion of Hyrule, I FINALLY found
the Master Sword. I thought I could temporarily increase my max hearts to get to the 13 I needed to pull it out, but NOPE that doesn't work. Looks like it's time I really began tackling those shrines.

That aside, the whole build-up to me finding it was magical.
I entered the Lost Woods and found myself constantly teleported to the entrance. Thanks to a comment from someone here earlier, I knew what I had to do with the torches and follow the direction of the embers to get through it.

The atmosphere and environment being what they were as I left the woods was amazing. Walking up to the sword felt so magical.

This game.

I just found out there's a
Salia
lake in this area.
You had to find a girl named
Salia
in Ocarina of time during the tutorial, right?
She's called
Salia
in german
Saria
is the english vesion. Is it called
Saria
lake in english?

Guys... Help me out. I tested for like 4 hours on Switch and... The controls feel way off.

I'm not sure about the setup, played 2 minutes on portable, the rest on Docked mode. It could be bad TV settings, but I missed every arrow shot.

Does everyone feels the same? Is the controls a bit off?

Head to karakiko (or whatever it's called)

There's a goddess statue in every town. The one in Hateno is by the big (mayors?) house.

You can use the same statue as many times you like . Only need four orbs
I gotta go to one then. Idk how im missing them. I went to kakariko and found memories and all that.

Dont spoil but whats up with that place with fog everywhere? Every time I get close I hear a laugh and im back where i jumped off from

Dumb question, does the Sheikah Slate+ search for shrines at the same time as whatever photo I have selected or only one or the other?

Btw you can use the goddess statues as often as you want.

I think your screwed out of Epona unless you have a save from before you spawned epona the first time, or you start a whole new game. Epona only spawns from the Amiibo once and you have to ride to a stable the normal way without fast travel. It's very dumb but that's Nintendo.

That's not true, I've spawned Epona like 3 times lol

That shrine where you have to
move the screen and guide the ball

WTF worst part of the game just Terrible

Th e controls are garbage

Do the horses max at 4 or 5 Stars? I got lucky on a 4-Star spread black/white beauty and I want to keep her but she may be inferior!

Gyro controls are on by default. Is that what's messing with your bow aim?

Personally I find the gyro aiming stuff prettty awesome for bow use with a little practice.

Loving this game and barely in it. I got to the village and the main cutscenes and characters just made me feel like I was in a Studio Ghibli film, it was awesome. lol

Also the little details blow me away. I was surprised to see the civilians and everything having their own cycle of doing stuff and then going bed at night. Also when I got to the stables and it downpours I was surprised to see all the NPCs in the area running for shelter inside and actually having dialog to the affect about the weather and trying to stay dry, it took me off guard and these details really immersed me.

Also that journal of worries had me cracking up..lol

I just skipped the entire puzzle in a shrine behind Hyrule castle by using a bomb on the Switch and timing my jump with the platform shooting out the floor.

Motion controls are activated by default. So aiming and firing arrows can be difficult if you aren't also considering that the movement of your controller is impacting it.

Wait is the weapons shining ti signify they are in top condition new? I haven't seen that before?

Also I just got my first thunderstorm after well over 3 days of play.

A guy at the stables commented how the Eastern side is always rainy so it looks like that's where people are being annoyed by it ruining their mountain climbing. Must be dryer in the West.

Weapon shining means their metal and in a lightning storm they act as lightning rods and you will get struck.

Hahahahaha fuck the Hateno Village shrine. The one with the
gamepad only gyro controls
yeah fuckin right. After 5 tedious failures I said you know what I've played super monkey ball before - you never have to play by the rules on those levels, sooner or later you get lucky and you just win. I just started
flailing the gamepad around whacking the ball in random directions like the maze was a flipper in pinball until I got the ball in.

Like I got time for that shit.

You can also flip the whole thing upside down lol

Any word of if there is legit concern about the WiiU version becoming scarce? As in, if Nintendo may have or will be manufacturing less copies (relatively speaking of course) compared to the Switch version?

I ask because I seem to recall that possibly being the case when Twilight Princess came out, and BOTW appears to be out of stock a lot of places. Of course that could easily be just because it JUST came out, but just in case, I'm considering picking up a copy asap when I would have been holding off otherwise.

How do I default it back to shrines? I can't go and unselect without reselecting something else.

Open the map and press the button next to the shrine locator (I think it's Y)

If you do the sidequest of the professor assistant he will also explain it to you.

Jesus Christ I'm gonna have to. Shit the ride never ends, now the game thinks I'm still using the pad even though I've switched to he controller, and link is in a loop running off the ledge and killing himself. This is hysterical.

Does anyone else feel this game is a tad overrated?

It's been ten hours and I've just been doing shrine after shrine.

Pros:
Cooking sound is so satisfying
Villages and NPCs are so creatively done.
Sound is top notch.
Combat

Cons:
Lots of Downtime,
Shrines are super same-ey
Feels like Ubisoft Open World with Towers unlocking the maps
Side quests have been fetch X things, or kill
Weapons Breaking too often

Don't get me wrong, the game is fun, but not 10/10 fun.

Omg, just got the
white
horse and it's awesome!
It has 5 in stamina and the old man who wanted me to catch it gave me a royal saddle. It's Zelda's horse! When you ride it you can hear the original Zelda theme played on violin!

HOLY SHIT I GOTTA GET THIS HORSE

Im making my way to zoras domain right now, (havent played any dungeons yet still at 3 hearts, plus 30 hours in.)

This game is so SERENE! Oh my god its heavenly

Yup.
The journey there was fun, some exciting encounters and just great environmental design. But then when I first saw Zora's Domain in the distance...man, that was something special. So unbelievably pretty, and then getting closer going over that bridge to enter it with the music starting to fade in...

I don't know how the game does it, but there's something about the atmosphere here that makes moments like these feel magical.

If you're only doing shrines and no main quest or exploring then yeah, I probably wouldn't be having a good time. Balance it out.

For me no, it's been a legit 10/10 experience. I literally have to tear myself away from this game so I can get some sleep the past few nights.

Make sure you aren't trying to gyro aim and use the analog sticks at the same time. You can turn off gyro aim in the settings.

Made a couple of comparisons to the 2014 build:

LMAO the game decides to have a tutorial for dodging...15 hours in to the game. Like, if you're gonna have a tutorial for that have it in the opening section. Who wouldn't have figured out how to dodge by the time they get to this specific shrine? Even if this is the first place you head to after the plateau, come on. You still would have figured that out by then. Felt so random.

Ooh shit the three giants brothers shrine reward is awesome
Great Thunderblade
. I'm having way to much fun just running around doing random quests.
